Tali, did the perspective on your avatar change recently?

There's a "Justice Server" global I believe, and if you want to arrange being on test at the same time, I'll get you in the LOJ one, though it's rarely busy for us there

Quote:I really hate to stir anything up, and am usually very glad to steer clear of these sorts of things ingame, or on the forums, but you reference "the hype" a couple times, dare I ask what that is?For the most part, I've had little dealings with TA members who I didn't know from elsewhere.
However, I got into an argument with a TA'er here, which was for what it was, cordial. And I gained respect for that person. However, it turns out that they're beloved or whatnot because I got in game tells from 2 TA'ers (not the person) essentially asking me what gave me the right to question such a valued member of the community. I do not think they had any knowledge of it or they would condone it, but I found it hilarious and certainly gives credit to the outsiders view that *some* in TA believe the hype.
2nd run in was with a prominent member in a global channel. They were very honest and upfront and again, I respect them.
3rd is with another prominent member who can be either very cool or a bigger jerk than Con. No in-between. I chalk it up to that person rather than any group.
So essentially it's like any group - some cool; some not. The biggest problem from my experience is those who believe the hype instead of just it being a group of people who like each other and hang out.
And, what can I say? I have little tolerance for inanity. -
The tags on this one are really making me lol

I wanted to get my newer spines/FA onto test to try out the new difficulty slider, but the copy tool wasn't working at the time, so I ran with my old fire/kin, poorly slotted, and specced for ice mastery (had been just trying different epics out for my ill/storm waay back in the day) and i did 1/2 the old demon farm map 3 times, and got 2 purples, and they were the same one, ragnarok, i think dam/rech, but I may have forgotten. I just thought it was odd, and instantly thought back toQuote:Originally Posted by MacskullBack around I13 some players got together, gathered a lot of data, and killed a lot of mobs, and they found that the RNG for drops was decided not random, for certain maps at least (I'm thinking of Tavish Bell's demon ship map). That was supposedly fixed with I13, along with the issue of sidekicks getting more drops than their mentors, but it's possible things are still wonky. Note that by "not random" I don't mean "you always get this particular recipe, while your teammate will never get that recipe." Rather, I mean "the xth mob on this map will always drop something."

Okey doke, since this thread is already tagged, Im going to assume it was /you/ doing "for great justice" and Cai doing "r u catgirl?"
I'm not objecting mind you, I just noticed and thought it was fun -
Anyone else notice (Besides Cai I'm thinking....) that the ratings on 1/2 the threads on these boards say either "for great justice" or "r u catgirl"? Or both?

I seem to recall that purple pet damage IOs, Soulbounds, do not affect pets/henchmen that aren't also level 50. Been rooting through the forums search for a while, but it seems the recent merger/purge has made more than a few useful threads go missing. Is this (still?) true, or did I somehow make something up? It's late and I'm tired, so its possible... If this is true, anyone know how to check the level of nontargetable pets such as Lightning Storm or Tornado?

Even if he wasn't so super busy with work, he avoids the forums like the plague

We did an all stormy ITF... or maybe it was a "all stormy but one" ITF... I forget.... Was quite a bit of fun and went smooth, if a bit slower than normal.... would be hell on a PuG though....

If its your first toon, I'd recommend not leveling through the AE, you'll learn more, and likely earn. As far as slotting... probably best to learn more before dumping the kind of influence that these builds are, onto your first toon (if you make that much). At 22, you'll gain access to "SOs" (Single Origin enhancements). These will give 30-38% enhancement values for most traits, such as acc/dam/endreduction/recharge/etc. You can use lvl 30 common IOs at lvl 27, and they're about as good as SOs, and if you wait a few hours to day, you can usually buy them for 50k at WWs, which is a little more than a SO, but you never need to replace them... this way you'll save in the long run. Also, if endurance continues to be a concern when you have stamina, and end reduction in attacks, you will have access to consume as well, which is a handy +end AoE. Don't slot Hasten more than 3x.
Back on topic, I finished slotting my build, and dinked around on a team of 4 against 51 bosses, and ran great. Killed quick, no end issues, no health concerns. Will push it further when I have a chance... Time to accolade up
Also, welcome to CoH and the boards -
Scrappers! What is your profession?!
I can't make this one, but it sounds like a fun event that I hope to scrap the hell out of when I can -

I'd assume, in the closed i16 beta boards.

Quote:I'm not sure how its a mitigation tool other than scatter, and I don't want scatter with an AoE toon... ever. I'm using only lvl 30 common IOs atm, and have 7ish empty slots, and have had no trouble at all with +1 boss maps spawned for 6. I don't see myself having any trouble with +2s, even with the common IO build. With the set build, I'm imagining pretty easy goings. However I think you're missing the boat on Burn. Burn is FA's best mitigation tool even though most consider it a damage power (especially given its past incarnations). You can solo farm +2 bosses pretty easily using burn. I couldn't imagine doing it without. If you're fine with just farming LTs/mins then never mind all that

So I caved and finally made a Spines/FA as well, here's what I whipped up for a build a few days ago, has a lot of similarities to both of the above builds. I'm avoiding purples for now just cause I just don't care for any new toon/build enough to bother, but this build would be a simple thing to switch into the PBAoE/TAoE/Ranged sets without losing anything I care about but 1.88% melee def, while gaining some nice rech/reg/hp/dam/etc.

Final melee def is a tad lower than the other builds, but R/AoE def is higher, with better regen/rec and lower end usage. The one notable difference I'm seeing is that I didn't take burn on this FA... I haven't been missing it so far in farming, but I'm suddenly thinking it might be nice for AVs... though I doubt I'll fight them often on this toon.
I was worried about the end usage when I respecced into this, but if you two are both running what you are without problems, I doubt I'll have any. -
Yeah it can be done, it was my first toon to solo AVs, before purples, MA animation buffs, or the MoG super buff. Hro'dotz or however its spelled was my first, when the team glitched out on a LGTF. Then I did a couple praetorians, but its been so long now I don't know which, and dread digging through my 2 gig screenie folder. I've not tried my purpled build that took MoG with anything solo though.

[/ QUOTE ]Well.... none of the links in the thread are working for me, which makes it a tad hard to help, but I will say that this is awesome.
