  1. Shaking her head clear, Claire Buoyant had dropped out of the sky when the psychic wave hit and thanks to her life support suit was currently stuck below the waves. Loosing herself free with a telekinetic push, she took a short breather under the water before streaming for the shore coming out of the water with a stagger to her step as the extra weight hit her.

Things were noisy and with so many people around her head filled up with sensory feedback giving her a headache without it being managed properly . Linking back up with all the senses flying about was not fun, especially in the midst of a panic and some minds still reeling from the blast, but eventually she gets an eye that's looking at Psyzan and tries to return the message. "If you can hear I hope you are okay Susan. I apologize for not being able to stop it, I was poor with my choice of words. Apparently many of its kind have died and its heart now only knows revenge, it finds the aggression typical of those on the surface."

Which was admittedly getting a little hard to argue against, the more enthusiastic would have to be stopped before they hurt someone. She waves a hand as a spray of sand from the whales beaching is thrown up into the air, catching it on a wall of force and letting it run down to form a small bank between whale and some of the beach goers. A second mental nudge has a white picket fence uprooted and snaking through the air before it crashes down in the beach to the Whale's side between M221 and the man in dress up if he's managed to surface, Claire flying down to land on the top of it like some overgrown blue cat.

Her pitch black eyes aren't very expressive but she plainly isn't very happy, her voice stressed as she tries to defuse the situation. "You have beaten it, well done. Now unless you were planning to become murderers, you will stop or you will also be fighting me." Two of the stakes crack and break off the fence, the wooden points arcing up to be ready to lash out. She reaches back to try pat the lashing creatures side, the animals mind too big and powerful for her to even try soothing. She might be able to lift it, but the forces depression could kill it. "How long he can breathe out of water I do not know. But he will need to be put back there soon."
  2. (( American English is though, which shortens nicely to just American. Besides, she thinks its called that. It's easier for her to think people in America to speak American and people in England speak English! ))

Gasping in shock as people start cutting the poor whale up, Claire's jet black eyes narrow as she pounds a jet of water up with a mental thump, spraying the whale with a column of water. "Do not hurt the Whale with such vigour!" she cries out indignantly "Just because it does not look human, does not mean you can just kill it!"

Claire Buoyant had a good grasp of what was going on, with so many eyes about she was able to see that she wasn't alone in responding, she even saw Susan who had been so helpful in getting her established in Paragon. Clearing her head, she tried to send an apology to the whale while sweeping anyone civilians who were slow moving out of the way with a roll of the earth beneath them.
  3. Far out at sea swam a hero from an alternate world where intelligent life was not restricted to the lands. The telekinetic, blue skinned woman named Claire Buoyant used her talent to streak through the water in her armoured surface life support suit, leaving a cloud of bubbles in her wake. The ocean being so quiet was disconcerting to her anyway, she was used to leeching off the senses of people around her to see in the murky depths, without that help it was actually quite frightening down there.

The psychic blasts led her to the problematic whale, hard to miss when they tore up such large holes in her sensory feedback with every wave. Ceasing the panic of drowning people were her first concern and swimming parallel to the shore she sent out waves of force, the tide of the water being beaten out by a counter force and pushing everyone gently to shore while keeping them just on the surface of the water no matter how much the thrashed.

Twisting in the water, Claire propels herself towards the surface and bursts out into the air, invisible bands of telekinetic energy keeping her afloat as she takes in the scene. Claire could only speak to animals so far with her rather weak telepathy, but a psychic Whale was likely an easy enough task. Holding a hand over her mouth she projects a wave of deep rumbling wails into the whales mind, before pausing to silently work out what she had really just said. Something about kelp... .she was rusty on her whale. Trying a different tact she hopes that it knows American, she was a bit better at that. "Hello! You are having terrible day? Perhaps you could be the one who will tell me about it?"

    Only a bit.
  4. Kitted out in her regulation Longbow Officer uniform, not that it ever stopped people calling her a Warden, Cerridwyn jumped off the transport truck as a few squads broke off to deal with rioters, looters or any other opportunistic criminals to give the clean up some space. They'd piled right on through everything to near the edge of the cloud anyone without a ventilator staying well clear of it.

"Well this seems needless." says Cerridwyn over the private squad talk channel "Ten dollars it's from the Isles, ten more the usual idiots STILL bend over backwards to pretend the people over there are all cuddly and misunderstood innocents. Any takers?" Jenkins barks a laugh down the radio, but no one seems to be biting it. Cerri didn't blame them either, this was a textbook cry for attention. "No? Well let's do this people."

Spreading her arms out wide, the air around the street goes dead then rustles towards the gas, blowing it back as it disperses. Twisting the air currents as she advances, soon strong gales sweep the streets, whipping the clouds into condensed swirling towers. She left the mini-tornados running while waiting for a clean up crew and with a blur of speed shot off down the street looking for the next cloud to take care of.
  5. Well other than Fanservice Girl which is just so bad it's great, I quite like Toxic Weaver and Lab Bunny.

My ultimate favourite though and the one that gets the most comments? The aquatic telekinetic hero Claire Buoyant.
  6. Giggling Lab Bunny, cleans her glasses and pushes them back on as she follows. Her sports bag is gone after the jump and a small breathing mask is hung on a leather strap around her neck "Grabbed a few things mid stream. Would worry about carrying around this sort of thing, but really if we're going to the isles being caught would be the least of my troubles. So what ship have you got for us?"
  7. "Could do that, or I can hijack an emergency teleport from the medical system and have us dumped at the bays within spitting distance of it." says Lab Bunny, pulling a small PDA with a strange atenna tied to the side of it with tape. Turning it on, the end makes a low sonic 'Whum whum whum' noise and the air starts to fill with the tang of Ozone.

Looking around nervously, Lab Bunny gives everyone a wave "Um, little closer please. Being on the edge of the spatial tunnel has strange effects, strange... rather disconcerting effects. Within ten meters will be fine."

Whether people come or not, thirty seconds later the ground for ten feet around Lab Bunny sparks and small objects rise into the air, before with a loud snap the teleport catches and they're gone, reappearing at the med bays two streets from the port.
  8. Calling in the drone, Bunny lets it curl up on her palm before loading it back into the delivery gun and returning that to one of her many pockets.

"She's our only lead for now, however let's not forget she's just a lackey in all this. The real names behind it all we're going to have to get out of her once we take her down. She's too prideful to break under questioning and truth serums are tricky on people like her, it might work or it might cause cardiac arrest. I guess that'll be your part Vix, can you pull some answers out of her head or should I bring a batch of MK-Ultra?"
  9. Blanching at Hicks exit, the Lab Bunny rubs her temple with a puzzled look on her face "What good would it do? Didn't realise the Police have reached the point of not even trying to catch criminals."

Tapping the forked antenna when it stops spinning to get it going again, Lab Bunny talks off handily "Anyone picking up anything? That all seemed a little random. They all have a motive for hauling off on you Vix or do you think there's some psychic interference making everyone crabby pants today?"
  10. "You're lecturing us Hicks?" says Lab Bunny, touching down with her communications headset still attached, a huge array of various aerials, wires and a small LCD that fits over the eye. She pulls it off and it curls up into a compact ball which she then drops into her pocket.

Hands on her hips, Lab Bunny sounds just a bit huffy, "If the police force wasn't so ineffectual at doing the job we taxpayers PAY them to do, then we wouldn't have to spend our free time also helping you out. If you'd like to handle the mass murdering psychic by yourself you only have to ask."

Shaking her head, Lab Bunny sighs pulling out a small hand held device with a fork like prong on the front and a screen built in. Sweeping for heat signatures and engine noises that matched the one Pistol had she continues on "Of course that's not really an option. We leave it with you it'll simply never be dealt with, just another unresolved case. You're very good at filing if nothing else"

Not picking anything up immediately, the Bunny takes out a small flare gun like pistol and fires it into the air, the projectile whizzing off with a hum out over the city, expanding her search range for the escaping Villain as it relayed sounds and pictures to her scanner, "So if you're quite done trying to burn a bridge you badly need, have you actually got anything useful to tell us, or are you just going to waste our time? We've got two murderers to catch now and I don't see you being very helpful in that regard so far"

Known for their cheerfulness, even a Lab Bunny has their limits. Disrespect was never something they took very well, especially to their qualifications to do their job.
  11. As the last two villains sneak off out of their portal Cerri powers down the gun, waving a hand at the sky returning it to mostly normal if still a little overcast. Nibbles had lost a tendril to the sword and was chirping unhappily but with a little petting he was soon soothed. The Piranha plant had tasted a bit of Supadine on its first day in the city and it had regenerated rather nicely since then.

Taking deep breaths, Cerridwyn is glad her muscles don't spasm when she's nervous or she would be, ironically, shaking like a leaf by now. "Miranda? I think we're all clear, coming to you. Good job, that could have been something nasty"

Zipping back to her friend, Cerridwyn couldn't help but think as to what the hell had just happened. A whole damn rogues gallery just drops in out of nowhere and intel had nothing on it. A new power play in the Islands? One thing was sure, she could count out an early night.

The debriefing was going to take a while as it is and after that she was going to grab enough people to make a plan that'd give the Menders a yelling that may well burn their ears right off. Helping them out was going to stop if they were going to be accessories to crime on US soul and really the Heroes helped a hell of a lot more than the Villains did, they'd choke.
  12. ((Rhiannon and Cerridwyn are the same person!))

"I've had a good time you know, but, I do believe that life will be a little easier with just Lykofos to think about. Catch me if you can..."

    [/ QUOTE ]

The blast from the lightning gun arcs goes wide and grounds on a lamppost the light blowing out in a shower of sparks. Saying something most unladylike at the rather sudden escape.

"Is there any villain out there who doesn't go invisible and teleport? Bunch of friggin cowards" she bemoans as a gale whips up loudly slamming shut the doors to the trucks, throwing out a new batch of seeds, rope like vines burst up from all around to wrap them rather firmly shut.

Stroking one, Rhi gives it a pat on the end of the stem caressing it between her fingers "Grab anyone who tries get in sweetie, I've been challenged to a race."

With that the wind catches her and she practically skips along the ground between the convoy and Silent Assassin, skidding to a stop near the struggle between Nibbles and the twin bladed fighter. Flicking her hand a little, it helped manage atmospheric conditions, the air goes damp and it starts to pelt down with freezing cold rain and lumps of hail upon the area a small shield of wind keeping Nibbles from getting the worst of it. The ground beneath them quickly getting slick and frictionless.

Wrapping herself up in a defensive circle of raging winds, Rhi waits with a gun humming for a clear shot.
  13. Lyfokos and Rylus clearly weren't paying attention to the announcement earlier or Edward's warning it seems. The containment field was rather handily stopping normal teleports (But not portals) out of the boxed in convoy area and since this was just a standard teleport the devices beeped with a small strain as they failed to hook into whatever little trick got them from A to B and sparked violently.

Cerridwyn threw a small chunk of ball lightning through the truck at the sound of beeping, it implodes in a small pulse that frys the electronic devices inside, while Rhi ducks reflexively behind the truck door afraid it was a bomb.
She leans her head round slowly as the beeping stops, giving a breath of relief at there being no earth shattering kaboom. Resting her foot on the step up to the truck she aims her rifle at Lyfokos.

"Cute. I said not to touch anything until bomb squad arrived. Fingers outstretched put your hands in the air and drop to your knees. Slowly too, any sudden movements and I'm pumping you with enough electricity to melt the fillings in your teeth." Rhi says in a deadpan voice while the gun hums away ominously.

    *****

Meanwhile Snappy is busy bothering Silent Assassin and spitting with a grungy sound that just isn't natural a small wave of spikes follow in the wrapping vines raining down upon the Stalker. Trying to bind up his arms and legs, Snappy will move in to pick up Assassin by clamping its jaws round his body if he's restrained.
  14. "Jammed, we can wait. Let me help you out with ugly there" she says to Lykofos, a cloud of purple mist coming from a flung out hand the wind currents around the pair pick up so that Rylus was near smothered with the mind addling spores while Lykofus was left untouched.

Raising her lightning gun, Cerridwyn nods to the side "Step to the left please Officer, I'm going to put him down and out."

    ****

Meanwhile, as Night Assassin gathers his bearings, two thin tendrils lash out towards him. Nibbles, Cerridwyn's pet attack piranha plant was bearing down on him, jaws snapping excitedly as it tried to wrap him up with its long vine like arms before carrying him back to its master.
  15. Gritting her teeth in frustration, Rhiannon finished pulling out the drivers from the truck carefully laying them on a patch of rain swept ground. Hand gesturing for them she had her vines burst up from the ground and wrap up the truck, the metal creaking as its lifted. The vines waver under the weight of several tonnes of armour plating and with a twist its slammed firmly back down with a heavy thud, the back doors now rather pointedly stamped into the ground one of its tyres bouncing away into the distance as the road cracks and ripples.

"Fixed. Move out and arrest that char grilled creep soldier, we've got feet on the ground here now."

Taking a deep breath for calm, the air gets chilled and frosty the first flakes of snow starting to fall on the convoy, Cerridwyn's lightning gun hums ominously as it picks up to a rolling wave of icy snow, looking for a shape in the Blizzard, moving the snow in sheets a small localized tornado keeping the injured truck drivers in its eye so they're both safe and dry.

"Losing. Patience. If the person stupid enough to come back would like to stick their head out so I can kick it in for them, it'd be almost rude not too by now."
  16. "Wait for a bomb squad and Hazmat teams Officer, they've likely got more than just the one booby trap and the places saturated with chemicals as it is. If you can go clear a way for the medical teams i'll move on. Right now i'm barely keeping them alive" says Cerridwyn from up on high, waving him back from the web fluid and irritant coated ground that was the convoy as she keeps the downed men supplied with oxygen and a healing mutagenic. Too late for several of them already.

Snorting angrily, Cerridwyn mumbles to herself "Positron wants the crates so bad he can turn up on time." pressing her comm bead she twists the frequency up a few notches "Command? Can you tell Positron that if he wants to do an analysis it'll be on site? We've already lost enough transporting these things in poorly managed police convoys."
  17. As the noxious gas fills the air, Rhi rubs her eyes. The damn thing stung and it tickled her throat something awful

"Poison gas?" splutters Rhi, her head feeling a little fuzzy "Please."

With a flick of her hand, an intense gust of wind whips up and circles the area whipping the cloud further out until the area is clear of. Just a little benefit of not needing to breathe the same thing as humans. Now if that'd been defoliants, whole different story.

Riding the vine above the sticky ground, her first stop was the truck window. The guards inside were out cold and one had crushed his arm as the truck had flipped but they were alive. She threw in another Curae root focusing to have it bloom by them before sweeping her weapon over the scene.

So they'd not looted the whole thing, but they'd still got out a fair bit of tech and it didn't look like it was new exercise equipment. They'd get serial numbers and IDF tags, but if they were carting it back Rogue Island side then likely the next time anyone would ever see it again was on the receiving end.

Nudging her shoulder to activate the comm link Cerridwyn calls out "Miranda, you spot any left? One got nailed by a lightning bolt and I'm going to latch up and cuff him in a second, where'd the zombie priestess go first?"
  18. The force bolt slamming into her chest, Cerri's vine lashes out to catch her ankle in the air and she swings upside down nursing where her ribs would be. Coughing as her circulatory system works itself out she mumbles down the headset "Lethal Force Authorized, try to avoid causalities and no firing near the convoy. Tell the Police to move in, they're clearing out."

If they could grab the stragglers they can get them under some Psi questioning and hopefully ferret out what was going here. Well no time for that now, who was still up?
  19. Much to Cerridwyn's suprise, this was actually going pretty well. Nibbles charged towards the Assault Bot, a volley of sharp thorns bouncing off it's steel hide as the walking plant charges into it, jaw snapping away angrily.

Cleared the main robot problems, that big lunker can't even get a good hit on me. Time to go do something incredibly stupid.

With the barbed vines around the police cars free to attack again, Cerri speeds up and grabs one, using it to swing around above the webbed area, pulling herself up to stand on the end of its stalk around 8 feet off the ground and a bit back from the portal as she holds the rifle ready, still humming up to recharge.

"Wow," Cerridwyn says "considering how often you've failed in these plots there Edward I'm amazed you can even get flunkies any more..... you guys do know how badly this guy record is don't you? What's the matter, Recluse finally get rid of Social Welfare and Burger King wasn't hiring?"
  20. [ QUOTE ]

"Ooo lookie.. yet another prey coming this way, she's in for a shock..."

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Ironic really.

As Night Assassin held his two metal blades to his side the clouds above roiled and rumbled. Much like playing golf in a thunderstorm, they made a rather attractive conductor for the defensive lightning storm building up in the ground between the two groups. The discharge fired with a blinding flash and a earth-shattering kaboom causing Cerridwyn to duck well clear of the light bolt, seeing the group use those god damn Oroborous portals to escape.

Once this was over she was going to see to it that the Mender's balls got dragged over a fire to stop that kind of abuse. Skidding to a stop as missiles rain down around the area, (Had she been hit in the side? Even with the wind shielding her some shrapnel had got through and it felt bad...) Cerridwyn pulled her free hand up to raging storm and waved in a circle, papers and debris blowing into the air as a small localized tornado started to whip up among the robot firing line, the ground crumbling and coming away as the Truck is slowly swept along with a loud grinding throwing up sparks in its trail.

Shouldering the rifle with the slowly circling capacitor, Cerridwyn takes aim generating a small storm cloud inside the reserve and the round apperture sped up, humming loudly. She'd never spent much time on the range with this but she couldn't just let them bail like this and it was going to be standard issue for weather controllers soon enough. Two control rods shot out of the front of the rifle, with a blue spark running between them and as she pulled the trigger her eyes went white and the world rang for a moment, the arc of electricity jumping the distance and attaching itself to anything metal he men inside the vehicles luckily safe from harm.

"Holy sh-.... they didn't say it was so freaking loud" Cerri complained to herself, taking off again with a blur of speed head still dizzy.

(( As for the escape, I'm confused. Blood Ghouls portal disappeared as he left so how are the robots using it?. And there's still web grenades in the air that seem to have just been flat out ignored.))
  21. This was getting messy fast, Rhiannon threw down her Curae roots and as the tree burst from the ground spreading a slightly intoxicating green mist through the area and she let it get busy stabilising the fallen.

"We're way outgunned here, got four meta-criminals out there at least and I'm, not happy about the ones I do recognize. Cook off the last of the Rpg's in that clip and relocate Mira"

Pressing a small button concealed in her costume under her ear Cerridwyn waited for the Helicopter to confirm voice link and deploy the speakers. Even though she talked normally the Helicopters systems let her voice be loud enough to carry the whole area.

"Rogue Island Forces, it's all over. Your mission is a failure you've put up a good show but this is it. We've got a Rank 3 Containment field up in a three block area and two of your team in custody already," Paragon didn't have any prisoners actually yet, but they didn't know that unless the had a mind link, "maybe if you disperse now one or two of who's left will make it to the edge and home but this place is going to be Hero central in two minutes if you don't. Your choice"

As if to punctuate this, two large spiked vines burst through the pavement, wrapping themselves around the Police cars and pulling them free of the fire line and the sky in the short gap between the briar patch and the convoy starts to darken and rumble with thunder. Nibbles chirrups happily, waving it's tendrils in the air as it sits on guard ready to grapple anyone who risks a frontal assault. The downed forces on the slope are picked up by less threatening, rope like vines that travel through the ground like earthworms, making a bed to get them close enough to start stabilizing.

Cutting the loud hailer off she rubs her throat and speaks aside to Miranda "Damn it, I can't get the Van drivers free else i'd fill the box with enough lightning to make Statesman think I was showing off. I'm going in right under the webs."

Snapping open a bulky case, Rhiannon pulls out a bulky looking glove with a slowly rotating generator and fits into onto one hand, flexing her fingers before whipping the winds to push her as she ran. Speeding down the hill as she quickly took in an approach and saw the web nades fly over head, Nibbles running along on his four root like legs with excitement the huge jaw snapping in the air.
  22. Lowering the home made grenade Lab Bunny nods as she tucks back inside one of the many pockets inside her lab coat "I'm with you, seems this guys pretty bad to warrant such a response. Lets get going"
  23. For Guardian Brena White it was a bad day, Longbow command had been breathing down her neck since the morning and didn't seem very keen on leaving any time soon.

Gritting herself to receive another tirade she tries again "I'm sorry Sir, but they are all gone. Half of the big players of non loyalist forces and a few heavy hitters have dropped out of radar and we've not picked them up since."

Chief Officer Larkin was the lucky Longbow agent to pull rank for this whole debacle and he personally thought someone higher up the chain couldn't get here any time sooner. "I suppose it's too much to ask that they're gearing up to strike at Arachnos? We should have seen this sooner, I'm getting a Warden to give the place a mind check once this is over." he asked glaring at the big bank of monitors.

"Unlikely Sir, a small majority of them are actually rather approving of Recluse and we've never had strong intel on them. The only reason we picked this out is a black out from our contacts. I'd say they're coming here."

"Well then" says Larkin, going to a phone on the wall "Get teams in the air, I have to get some people out of bed."

    *****

Thundering away from the drop off point in the distinctive red and white Longbow helicopter, Officer Cerridwyn was starting to get a little worried. They'd already dropped most of their heavy support was off dealing with robots and a surge of gang violence and all the Crash suits were out in the Isles, securing a relief convoy. Warden's only came to Paragon when on leave and currently that was two of them, one with a broken leg.

That left her with a skeleton squad and whatever they could scrounge out of the armoury before lift off. They'd managed to grab some nice toys at least.

"All right, drops in five! Listen up" shouts Cerridwyn over the helicopter rotors, the back of it was already open she was countering the rushing wind with her own air currents to keep the inside calm.

"We're on Peregrine detail, things have gotten hot. Still, don't forget there's civilians down there so don't fire any heavy ordinance until they're clear, stick to web grenades and the tear gas if you can. Police are holding perimeter, which as we all know means they're getting their butts kicked so as soon as the containment field goes up so the creeps don't bug out as soon as look at us we're jumping, check off. No Civilian Heroes arrived yet, guess they're all still getting the spandex on."

The six man squad stood up and started checking each other over, the whine of servo motors audible on the large rotary grenade launcher they'd snagged out of R&D, that thing was going to be a lot of fun to watch. Tugging at the straps to her own jet chute, the thing will get everyone down to the ground faster and safer than any rope delivery system but Cerri was a bit more malleable than the normal person and it didn't feel too good being pushed into a lump before she hit the ground. Taking up a small stubby pistol she walked to the exit and grabbed the handle so she could lean out to look. They'd been three blocks from the convoy when it got the message off, a response time this fast might just get them a commendation later on although it looked like it was getting the absolute hell beaten out of it.

As the red light in the back flashed green and everyone rushed for the jump the Helicopter Cerridwyn fired the small flare gun like device, a packed bag of seeds flying out ahead of them and impacting into a small green belt island beside the road. Before they'd even covered half the distance to the ground a tangled briar patch was waiting to receive them shifting slowly as it stretched out its new tendrils. The group hit it dead centre, a cloud of white smoke going up as the jet chutes fire and then detach with loud clunks before a misty cloud smokes out of the air, obscuring them all.

One of her more well loved tricks, Cerridwyn concentrated on adapting the smoke to each persons small visual implant so it didn't bother them before waving an arm onwards "Heli's got visual on at least eleven techs, one big bruiser and some rotters. Ditch the gas, lets get some EMP in there and then take the rest with the riot foam."

Two vines tunnel out to give Cerri a bit of better view of what's to come meanwhile her pet Piranha plant Nibbles crawls out of a small pocket and chews at the ground growing to a good eight foot in mere moments.

Happy with the arrangment, Cerri flicks a hand forward "Keep cover till we've got a base of fire. Lets show them who they're dealing with"
  24. Packing up the bag and slinging it over her shoulder, Lab Bunny pulls her goggles back down and waves a blue glowing hand. "Fusion Energy projection as standard, as well as plenty of devices for all sorts of problems. If you need something analysed or fixed you won't find better than us either."

Looking up at the approaching Lost, Lab Bunny taps her wrist computer with a tut of frustration "Must have throw the electrical generator. Heroes here! Back off or you're getting worse than a few bruises" she yells, pulling a small home made grenade from her pocket, a steel can with wires and a small circuit board attached too it.
