Quote:S'alright. Hope you get those badges at some point soon.Ex, I know that I totally up and quit on you tonight,so I wanted to take a minute to justify my actions before I leave COH for the night....
I have a problem. I am simply not okay with ever dying at the hands of level 15 enemies. Even if I'm level 15 too, technically, I'm just not willing to accept it. God did not give me the grace to accept exemplar level changes. I require all of my powers at all times. If something that is not a level 54 Sapper or a bunch of Mu bosses and Tarantula Mistresses is able to kill me consecutively, I just stop having fun.
The worst part is that I needed a lot of those badges- And I'm grateful to you for putting this together. I just, am not yet ready, on a personal level, to risk subjecting myself to the risk of dying. It just feels degrading to me. >.>
I'd like to thank everyone who turned out for the premiere of "Badge to the Bone"! Special thanks go out to @Lithomorph, @Lady Delryn, and @Silurian for providing safeguard and mayhem missions! We did manage to run all the safeguard missions and nearly all the mayhem missions; those that we missed I'll make sure to get if we ever do these badges again.
Next week we'll be doing a giant monster marathon, going for every giant monster except U'Kon Grai and Winter Lord.
EDIT: We'll do Winter Lord if the holiday event is live by then. -
Updated the original post with the schedule for December.
First up will be safeguard and mayhem mission exploration badges. If anybody already has some of these missions, and can be available next Tuesday, please let me know. Also, if you want all of these badges (Up to 20!) on the same character, you should plan to have Vigilante or Rogue alignment. -
Hmm... Have a marathon of the WST one week? You perhaps wouldn't be guaranteed a badge (depends on how close you are to the next one), but at least you'd make good progress. I like this. We'll have to have a see what the WSTs are for December and see if any are good for speed runs.
Quote:- Underground Trial - regular, plain vanilla run. I've never run it yet and need the badge for completing it. If I have it by the time yo uget around to it I'll help out if you need me.
There's been a lot of interest in the Mayhem/Safeguard mission exploration badges, so right now I'm thinking that might be one of the first events. Also some interest in GMs, which I'm okay with doing since Kyo's no longer doing GM Tuesdays.
Any interest in Master runs of TFs or SFs? -
Did that MoITF you needed start just before you logged in? Getting slaughtered trying to solo AVs in Recluse's Victory? Still have no idea how you're going to get all those safeguard mission exploration badges that you outleveled before they were even introduced?
Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to "Badge to the Bone" Tuesdays!
(Title subject to change if I can find a worse pun to replace it with.)
Yes, every week on Tuesday at 8:00 PM Eastern we'll go for different badges! I'm taking requests, there are just two conditions:
1) The badge is not easy or even possible solo.
2) The badge doesn't step on the toes of any other regular Protector event. (For example, we won't do any Master runs of Incarnate Trials, you can try for those on Saturday with Sept.)
I figure we'll have our first "Badge to the Bone" Tuesday on December 6, 2011. That way, I'll have time to gather suggestions in this thread and work out a schedule of which badges we're going for on which week.
On some of these, I'm sure we'll have to coordinate (like the aforementioned safeguard mission exploration badges), but we'll cross those bridges when we get to them.

So... who needs what badge? -
Dusted off my Crab today for this. Had a great time. I'll have to try to level him up a bit so I can participate on a regular basis.

I'm gonna delurk/destealth/decloak/dewhatever to say that you're beating yourself up way too much over this. Stuff happens.
Quote:I got tells, and talked to a few people who feel that I wasn't strict enough, and that I need to make an event like this "sign up only." I don't like being strict, I don't like being "super exclusive" and I don't like telling people that they can't play their mains/badgers, but it does seem like this is the only way to run a successful MoKeyes on this server.
Okay, I kid.
Sign up only? Yes please. The biggest reason this went so badly was indeed because there were quite a few people who had no idea what a MoKeyes required, but joined anyway.
But please don't start turning people away because their badging toons aren't ideal for the trial at hand. Every toon has its strengths and weaknesses, and I know I'd hate to be turned away from anything because I don't have the perfect powers for it. -
Just thought you might like to know: Freitag himself showed up a little bit ago looking to get in on GM Tuesday, under the impression that it was a weekly sorta thing. He was kinda bummed when I told him that it was, in fact, a monthly sorta thing.

Q: How many Malta does it take to screw in a light bulb?
A: Well, it would have been one, but you just had to go and repeal the Might for Light Act, didn't you?
