  1. Does this mean that dark blasters can join during next weekend?

My apologies sir. Those are some spiffy Dockers you've got on. Is that a Walla Walla onion? A fine, stylish choice.

This is today, and I've got the "first day of a new Superteam" excitement kicking.
Me too! My new corruptor is rolled up and ready to go. I'm going to feel so special being a cold corruptor on a dark team.
  3. Welcome new people and welcome back old people

Honestly Smurfis, whatever you want to bring.

This. More melee wouldn't hurt. I know there's only a few that are bringing melee types. We're a bit corruptor/defender heavy, but I think that you can't have too many of those on a team.

If you want to mix it up a bit, take dark as your secondary. I'm bringing a dark/cold domination corruptor because as Deacon_NA puts it, good things happen when you have a cold in your group.

plus there would have to be somesort of "cat" people dialoge or mentioning...because... doesn't virtue have that?
    Oooooh more bullets!

    *hides the catgirl troller*

For the record, we always try to find a happy medium with levels gaps so if the blaster is what you really want, then maybe roll a temp toon to start off with us and switch to the blaster once we figure out what side we are playing on.
I think that's a great idea. It'll give you a chance to get to know us and get an idea of how we roll. I was also thinking that if anyone wanted to join and is unsure of how often they can show up, they might want to start on Primal Earth and crossover to Praetoria to team. We're not going to be spending that much time in Praetoria and I'd hate for anybody to feel stuck there and unable to join the group. Once we get to Primal Earth, we'll go gray, most likely vig so we can make use of one of the established bases we have hero side.

If you do decide to roll a temp and switch to a blaster, let me know if you need help getting caught up.

That said, I started figuring what I'd bring to the party and realized that at least 1/2 the planned times are going to run right into 'The Walking Dead' once broadcasts start
I can relate to this. I don't watch much tv myself but what I do watch, I really like. If you're willing to find a workaround by recording it or watching it online, that would be cool. If you need to take time to watch it, that's cool too. We had somebody that would take an hour out to go watch Dexter.

a team could be formed a bit early to get in extra time before your departure. The only hitch would be TF/SF should one be done that evening. Not a big deal since there have been occasions we did a TF/Sf back-to-back (i.e. one on friday and the same one on sunday).
I don't have any problems with starting a bit early. If that's the case, I just need to know so I can plan on starting early.

try to find a partner to level pact with. If you can for sure make the firday night runs, then i don't see why missing an hour on sunday would be a problem. I think there are a couple of justice super teamers in the group who would be happy to join a level pact with you. I can't recall who may/may not already be in one. But i don't think it will be to hard to find one.
That's a great idea. I know that there's a couple people that don't have level pacts atm. The best bet is to talk to them. However, there has been a few occasions where new people showed up, pacted and didn't bother to come back or tell their pact mate that they weren't planning on continuing.

Although another MoLambda run may happen, but I think the final thoughts for this coming weekend were to try to make some Keyes runs. Several members of the Mo runs had never run it due to the dearth of opportunities. We figured we would give it a go. I hear it's much harder and longer than the others, but that should only make it more attractive since we run +4/x8 ITFs for fun and challenge.
I know TheBaub sat out on some of the Lambda badge runs and I'd like to get him the badges he's missing for MoLambda. I'm not sure if Starry Night and PersonaMix were able to get in on getting MoLambda either. So I'd like to get a few Lambdas in.

Personally, I'd love to get the Loves a Challenge badge. I've run Keyes before and although it was challenging, I really enjoyed it. In order to succeed, you really have to pay attention and be aware of your surroundings.

1st place-Boilerhead, with some sexy steampunkiness
2nd place-Tubbius, who rocked the Santa suit. Honestly, I couldn't stop thinking of the Santa from Futurama.
3rd place-ConflaGREATone (apologies if I didn't spell that right) who brought the hawtness.

Sounds like we are good to go for tonight. This should be fun.
  10. The Hollows race was a real nailbiter. The person in the lead ( I think it was Dr Whoof) died feet from the finish line. Didn't even place. We had to give him a consolation prize for his efforts.

The first ship raid was epic. While we were busy calling not i-, I mean deciding who was going to lead the raid, the raid hit critical mass and the pylons starting falling. There was enough interest for a second raid and arafel did a great job of leading that one.

Overall, this was a great event and I want to thank everybody that took the time to show up. The Justice community is one of the best ones that I've ever experienced in an MMO. Thanks for coming out everybody and making this a truly memorable event!
  11. We have winners! Thanks to all that came out.

    Hollows:
    FIRST PLACE: Fate's Warning (4min26sec)
SECOND PLACE: Speedy speed speed (4min27sec)
    THIRD PLACE: Edie B (4min49sec)

    Redside:
    FIRST PLACE: Dr. IcyCold (7min)
SECOND PLACE: Molasses in January (8min15sec)
    THIRD PLACE: Ice Racer (8min48sec)

Ixtana got the bounty on U'kon.

Sunday is the dead body race and MoLambda trials. We'll be bringing 2 rads, a cold, a kin, 2 fortunata specced widows, a stone brute and a willpower tank. If there's enough interest, we'll split into two leagues.
  12. I, for one, am looking forward to seeing level 1 blasters and doms run like Forrest Gump

Someone brought up some good questions on the Superteamer's channel and I thought they deserved to be repeated here.

    Sprint is allowed

So is secondary mutation. If someone does get increased movement speed, it's only 15%. I don't see that as a significant advantage.

It was also asked if you had to be level 1 when you finished the race. I suppose it is possible for a blaster to get enough xp by killing a mob. Personally, I would be impressed if someone did manage to level. However, the challenge of this race is to do it at level 1. I would also consider the tier 3 inspiration bonus from leveling to be a unfair advantage. So you have to start as a level 1 and finish as a level 1.

Return to battle will also not be allowed because the level up bonus would be an unfair advantage.

Mystic Fortune will also not be allowed because the fool offers a significant movement speed increase.

The commuter day job is also allowed. It only offers a 10% run speed buff. Not a huge advantage.

I don't know if it's even possible to get to that door without fly. I suppose you could run up the web but that would be a right pain.

We were going to have people on hand in PI to port to FBZ but decided against it because the Shard can be a pain to get around in with a travel power.

After much discussion, we decided against having a costume contest. They're nice but it seems like almost every player event has one. We wanted to be a little different.

It was a lot of fun to think these events up too. We were originally going to have a costume contest and a trivia contest when somebody pointed out that would exclude villains. This idea didn't sit well with us because we don't like to leave anyone out. So we threw some ideas around before settling on our final decisions. Just for fun, here's some of the ideas that didn't make the cut
    • A level 1 (no khelds) no travel power race around the Shadow Shard.
    • Instead of ending the lowbie villain race at the arbiter, it was suggested that the finish line be the door for the TV farm missions.
    • A lowbie race across the RWZ.
    • A costume contest on the Death Star in the Chantry.
    • A level 1 race to the top of Striga mountain
  16. Just under two weeks till lowbies get to run around the Hollows like it was Issue 7. I just wanted to pop in here and update the door prize list.

    Winter's Gift: Slow Resistance (20).20] x2
    Obliteration: Chance for Smashing Damage.50]
    Touch of Death: Damage/Endurance.40]
    Luck of the Gambler: Defense/Endurance.50]
    Performance Shifter: Endurance Modification/Recharge/Accuracy.50]
    Synthetic Cytoskeleton Exposure.50]
    Obliteration: Damage.50 x3
    Obliteration: Damage/Recharge.50
    Numina's Convalescence: Regeneration/Recovery.50
    Thunderstrike: Damage/Endurance/Recharge.50

This is still only a partial list of what we have in base waiting for the event. There will be more added as I get more organized.

I've added a bounty on the kill shot on U'kon Grai. Whoever gets the kill shot will get 100 million inf. We'll be bringing 2 bubblers to help insure that the raid goes well.
  17. Just over 2 weeks till the running of the lowbies. I've been consolidating the io's that we'll be using as door prizes and will be putting a list here and in the op.

This is just a partial list. I'll add to it as I get more organized.

    Synthetic Nucleolus Exposure.50
    Kinetic Combat: Damage/Endurance.35
    Steadfast Protection: Resistance/Defense.30
Blessing of the Zephyr: Knockback Reduction (4 points).36
    Touch of Death: Accuracy/Damage/Endurance.40
    Mako's Bite: Damage/Recharge.50
    Numina's Convalescence: Healing/Recharge.50
    Obliteration: Accuracy/Damage/Recharge.50
    Obliteration: Chance for Smashing Damage.40

That it has. The last +4 ITF that we ran was a cakewalk. The LGTF was bumped up to +4 because it didn't present a challenge at even con.

Same here. But I don't think it's because I like playing support, I think it's because I prefer being a force multiplier. My widow is one of my favorite superteamers so far because she can bring the damage and buff the team. It could be argued that my db/regen scrapper played somewhat like the widow. But playing a scrapper was different enough that it's been hard for me to enjoy playing her post 50. The same goes for my fire/kin. I can solo if I want or or turn my team into a steamrolling powerhouse. It all depends on my mood. I think that's what sets CoH apart from other games that rely on the tank-dps-heal trinity. Groups can get by with a good mix of buffs/debuffs. People will gravitate towards their preferred archetypes, but it's not because those archetypes are better than others, it's a matter of personal choice.
  19. Just because I look this doesn't mean she should call me old. I'm gonna throw that little brat in the cement pond.

Well...that's true. I do love my troller. It could be argued that my fondness comes from the fact that she can solo well, not from the fact that she's a 'troller. I just happen to have spent far too much inf on her build and way too much time getting her T4 incarnates. Now she steamrolls through everything, the exception being hard to mez mobs. Same goes for my ds/dark mastermind. I hadn't felt that way about a mastermind since I started playing my bot/ff in I6.

However, when it comes to 'troller knowledge, Big_King is the resident expert. If I remember correctly, he's played every control set to 50.

Why don't you ever play a nice controller or a tanker? Those are nice AT's. Not like those scrappers, they only lead you into trouble. And those blasters running around shooting everything willy nilly. That's a recipe for disaster Mister! I don't even want to know what those dominators do. It sounds dirty!

    /e nagging mother off

Eh...play what you like. I know in 6 months my favorite AT will change. My troller will more likely than not stay one of my favorites because she can solo and I'm really fond of the personality that I've developed for her. Same goes for the mastermind and the brute and the widow

I have mixed feelings about doms. On one hand, I played a plant/fire to 50 when I was going for a 50 of every achetype and it was a lot of fun. On the other hand, it was kind of a pain to keep dom up. This was before doms got buffed. After they got buffed, I rolled up an elec/earth dom and ending up deleting it because I just wasn't having fun with it. I think playing my kin troller and my ds/dark mm have ruined me for doms.

However, if you're curious about an AT, rolling one up for an ST is one of the best ways to check it out imho. There's teams running twice a week and you will get some playtime.

I know that I've said this before, but corruptors shine in a group. Buffs/debuffs make a huge difference and once the ability to scourge kicks in, it all gets melty.A scourge-y nuke is a wonderful thing. Especially on a fire corruptor.
