The Clean Handprint(s) are a friendly lot, but I know it's tight for space.
You can visit our little website www.thehandprints.co.uk and either post to get signed up or contact one or all of @Von, @Spiffer, @Mime Artiste, @Jacko or @Fire Emperor, then they will go to work and see what they can sort.
Most will be on tonight, as we have an ITF run planned, and there's usually something else going on as well. -
I'd just like to say thanks to those PVPers in RV last night. They saw a team of about 8 going after the signature AVs and kindly let us get on with it, fighting with the heroes who weren't doing that and we PVP'd when the zone changed, and then started again. Granted we only got Recluse and Black Scorpion, but the PVPers had a great attitude and it was a pleasure to be in RV.
I know some PVPers get stick because 'it's a PVP zone and we will attack you because we can' but it was the attitudes of the PVPers in the zone that made it a good run and I just wanted to say cheers for that. -

Not sure about your SG rules but alot of SG's have moved over to require SG mode all the time since you still earn inf.
I have proposed this myself to the SG im in but so far the leaders have decided to just keep it at a minimum amount earnt each month.
To answer you, No its not bad form if it was in the rules. If you aint happy with how a SG is run join another one or create your own.

Given that a minimum amount is reasonable, and that the Handprints on CoH and CoV make a small fortune in the prestige stakes every month, I don't see a need for SG mode to be on all the time. Yes, we could earn more, but leeway is given so it's not as much of a chore as it seems.
Can see where you're coming from though. -
The Handprints on Union have an SG costume, which is worn by both the villain SG and the Hero SG. Is not mandatory, but most people do have one, or a very close variation based on their character's design.

I think there should be a new PVP zone, with an entrance from Mercy Island and Galaxy City that is specifically for PVP training. You can fight each other, but you can't outright kill someone - when their health gets to a certain point it automatically restores. This way it allows people to learn to fight in PVP, which may make the casual gamer venture more in to the zones. PVE players get a tutorial, so why not create something to teach PVP players as well?
I enjoy PVP, but CoX PVP isn't fun for everyone, and I count myself as one of them who doesn't find it fun and I find it a shame. My first real experience of it was Jedi Acadamey multiplayer (long ago, though not quite a galaxy far away) and yes, you would get the skilled PVPs who would take you out very quickly, but even a person new to PVP was able to stand their ground and play as a well timed force-push would throw someone in to a pit and that was that. Yes, you'd get trash talk, yes it could be bloody annoying at times, but it was fun and someone going in to a zone and being killed several times without an awareness of what's going on isn't fun and doesn't promote PVP. There will always be the 'that's not fair' people and people who view everyone as fair game as they're in a PVP zone but in my view, that's not what kills the fun. What kills it is you don't get a chance to figure out what you're doing wrong before it's too late. If the PVP are as passionate about PVP as the inevitable arguments seem to suggest, then I can't see a problem with a zone where you can PVP, but can't defeat, in order to train people for the real thing. I don't think PVP is a bad thing, far from it, but it needs to be made more accessible in order for it to be fun for everyone, despite builds and IOs and everything else. -

I have a ticket sent in with that info, but they wanted to know what ISP i use, what my comp is etc etc. Posted info in here as well, since the support staff does not appear to be upto date on this issue.
Cause it's an error on my end when some chars work and others don't... mmm yeah *rolls eyes*.
[/ QUOTE ]
Stupidly enough, it could actually be your ISP with a routing issue, in particular if the characters are on several different servers (ie the ones affected are on one, and the ones NOT affected are on another)... this is more prevailant on games where each server has a different IP address (hint MOST do)
Also, there are some real head scratching problems that i have seen as well (such as why a player can login into ALL the live servers and NOT the test server even though everything is setup EXACTLY as it should be)
Hell for all we know, it could actually end up being one of THEIR machines that is having a hissy fit and causing these issues (either that or your ISP deciding that playing CoX is akin to P2P software and therefore sending "reset" codes to the CoX server, which is resulting in your desynch's)
But yes, although it is annoying I would always give them as much information as possible, even MORE information than is asked sometimes...
PS the BEST one that i have heard of, was one guy complaing about an installer being corrupted (downloading from an FTP server that had about 50K downloads with no issues)... he downloaded it, corrupted download and wouldnt even finish the extraction BEFORE it could install the game... I downloaded it 3 times, no corruption (just to make sure). In the end it turned out to be his firewall as it was adding an extra couple of bytes to the end of the file, so when the file was checked, it didnt match the CRC that it was meant to have). Without asking "stupid" questions, you cant always get a sensible resolution (even if it is "sorry, there is NOTHING that we can do for you")

Adding on from this, I've logged in to CoH from my parents house, on their PC, and the bug is 'gone'. Now they do have a different set-up (Vista, better graphics card and such...) because they bought it end of last year, but it does seem to imply there is a possible issue at our end as well as a possible issue at the server end.
Now to update my support log... -
I'll be up for this as well.
Escalus - BS/Inv Scrapper - fly yes, tp, no - @Escalus -
Yes, join us, and that way we'll get a load of bonus prestige for the SG!
That and we're all very nice people. -
I've only two active missions, and only one of them has the book icon on it. I do have a contact with another arc, but I've not chosen any missions from that, but will it still count?
-
No, that's the one I'm after. I've done the one before it, but Shadowstar says I'm not high enough yet, which is a bit frustrating.
-
I've done all the Kheld arcs so far but I hit L40 and went to Shadowstar with my WS and told I wasn't high enough yet. I've just hit 41 and I'm still not high enough. I thought it was every five levels or so but as I'm not getting anything yet do I need to be higher still, or is it not working right and I need to send a note to support?
-
And I think it's fair to say that we whupped ET's [censored]!
-
We raiding them or they raiding us? Just I remember the last time we defended....
-
I just want to say a big cheers to the DHP for this weekend. We took full advantage of the double xp and had good sg teams going, either full ones or duos and it was a good laugh.
You guys have helped me do a lot of levelling this weekend - thanks a lot! -
Both Escalus and Lady Escalus are happily SGd at the moment, but my current plan is to play as a different alt every week, so keep an eye out for them and if you need a hand they'll be there.
And at some point I am going to make myself a PB hehe... -
I meant more a league table for SG members. The DHP fosters healthy competition!
-
We could do with a league table that shows how we're all doing.
And Torin needs to get a job -
The DHP is a cool group. I know they let me join!
