  1. Ok, I took your play style into account on this, and it is meant as a quick solo build given what you have and stuff that should be pretty cheap.

    Wormhole into a corner.

    Pin down with Hurricane.

    Drop Freezing Rain on their head. Snow storm doesn't hurt here either.

    Activate angry cloud. Activate tornado.

    Immob, hold, throw Buicks at mobs. Let Singularity do whatever he wants to do. He's Singularity.

    If mobs manage to hit you, use aid self.

    I once upon a time knew a bit about storm, and this was my favorite combo of all time. Teammates will not ever like you. You are a storm. Thor does not care about cranky teammates. There are ways to be less of a PITA for your team, but in the end you are a storm.

    Yeah I agree, don't even try anymore. Good point man. Meet ya in RV to farm recipies and pillboxes with heavies.

    More arena like instance options might be something to look into is all I'm saying. But if this thread is only for applause, then I apologize.
  13. Would it be too much to ask that they design a pvp instance that incorporates the story design for the issue? Like maybe 2 sides trying to maintain control over some kind of Rikti generators or something? Anything that moves pvp forward?

    Its not like it would be any harder than spawning in pre-made bases. And we're already used to crashes, so thats not a problem.



    Yes, its asking too much. I know. Off to battle more ai that stands still for fulcrum shift and nukes.

    And yes, apologies for the negativity to all of you excited about more missions on the lab map. Maybe there is more to come that will adress something for pvp.
  14. And by the way Czar, I totally agree with that. We are a unique AT that requires a different mind set to play effectively.

    That said, I don't think play style affects the main gist of my above comment (which I know you weren't refering to).
  15. The whole problem I see here is that the majority of the player base doesn't care about PvP. That is the only rational reason we keep getting side tracked from "Wow, we clearly in every measurable way underperform every other AT by a wide margin in Pvp, and our damage sucks rocks in PvE," to "Lets all have a group therepy session saying why we love our dominator and, gol darned it, I don't care if my total focus only takes off a quarter health from an even con Lt."

    I too love my dominator. I would like as well to not get sent to the corner of super-hero parties to hang out with Aqua Man. We have gotten side tracked from testing the cosmetic changes to our PvP survivability in favor of further rationalizing our self worth. I get tired of hearing the dom community cry "But he's a good man officer, I just fell on a door knob. Don't take him away!"

    Now in Hero Planner, a suspect source of info if ever there was one (although I do thank the makers for it), the PPP sheilds are showing an almost 50% resist level when slotted fully due to an odd double application of 2 different percentages. One seems to be at around 20% the other at 15% or so. If this is correct, then that may go a long way to changing survivability. Unfortunately I'm sure there is no way in hell it is correct.

    Which leaves us back at squish squish squish even in relative terms. And even when we get dom up, 100% damage boost equals.....dum dum dum! just under half the health off a even con Lt. with total focus, the most damaging attack available to the AT. This as we all know translates in PvP terms into a completely ignorable attack, not factoring in the stun.

    Again, I think that tanker (at least) level base damage would go a long way to detering attacks on us, as it might actually hurt the attacker. Yes I would love mez protection, who wouldn't? I personally don't feel that is the problem with the AT or the changes. The sheilds will put us on par with blaster defense without the fear one has of engaging a blaster due to their damage output. I can't pop a BF and be immune to that bone msasher or Bitter Ice Blast for 30 secs. Likewise, we should have some honest means of remaining a threat to a toon when they are mez protected. Right now, it just isn't the case.
  16. Since I only usually post when I am ranting, I will try this (and if it doesn't lead to instant gratification I promise to return to angry bitter ramblings):

    Thank you, devs, for the base damage increase. You apparently heard the player base. Please increase ranged damage accordingly as well as it is necessary to make the change more than cosmetic. If it shows to not be enough of a change to achieve balance with the other AT's, I have every confidence you will increase damage further.

  17. My comment on not enough damage with dom running was in reference to PvP only, should have made that clear. If you disagree, fair enough.
  18. There is another problem with our big fat cookie, "bonus domination points from assult."

    In most cases, assult is whippied out after a dominator has established control BECAUSE OUR DAMAGE IS CRAP CRAP CRAP. So Dusk, what does that mean? It means that for PvP in particular the biggest benefit to having domination is that we can acheive a hold or control faster. Because if a target is not controlled, we are going to die. Quickly. Cause we have zero defense. Ok. We all on the same page?

    Now with this "bonus" we are encouraged to sacrafice attemps at controll to apply CRAP CRAP CRAP damage to build domination so we can control. Which will lead to death. Quickly. Anyone else starting to see this boost as sending a guy into a gun fight with a +5 sword of Bread And Circuses?

    Faster dom is nice, don't get me wrong, but the real problem with the set is that we do not do enough damage EVEN WITH DOM RUNNING to discourage people from making kamikazi runs at us. We need to be off the defender damage scale (if we even have that) because def's get debuffs that cant be escaped with an insp.

    I am NOT calling for insp nerfs or anything of the sort, and if higher damage would unbalance PvE ok, fine. But we need a damage boost even if it is just for PvP so that the sign on our forhead that reads " Instant Reputation Gain" is replaced by "Slightly More Dangerous Than A White Con Minion" at least. Controller's containment was a good change, a balanced change in fact. I think the Dom community would be quite happy with a PvP increase in base damage. Fear of getting whacked is the only real deterant in PvP. Currently nobody is afraid of us. That needs to change.

I have annoyed almost EVRY hero in Sirens's Call, taken multiple butt whippings in FC (when I'm not being a blatant [censored] TK-ing for ring outs), and contributed mightily to all of your bounty goodies. Not even a honorable mention? I should be listed in every post here, because I'm pretty sure I have been killed at least once by everyone now. GIVE CRAPPY HIS LOVE!!
