Hey all,

Just wanted to let everybody know that my life is far too hectic at the moment for me to be considered an 'active' player! (That's what happens when you start your own business... be warned! Oh, I do miss my student days! lol)

Anyhow, it would be unfair of me to sit idle whilst taking up space in the SG - especially when somebody more active could be taking that spot. Therefore, I've decided to leave (and to be honest, the game wasn't really holding my attention like other MMORPGs have done in the past).

Thanks to everyone for being so friendly, etc - you've been a great crowd. The base looks amazing btw - well done on that! I wish you all the very best of luck with all the TFs and such - and I hope that OotCS goes from strength to strength.

Cool, no worries. Already know which two ATs I prefer to play with - and it doesn't involve my MM (those crazy ninjas are a pain in the [censored]!)

Am removing a few of my alts from the SG and keeping the two that I most want to concentrate on - as I have heard that there is a limit of 75 members for an SG? We're already over 60 members (including alts), so there's no point in me taking up room unnecessarily when I'm not really using them to play with. Can always have a rethink when I get Demonic and Krystel to top level

Just thought I'd let you know so that you don't panic! Hehe

I originally started with Serif 'WebPlus 8' - but switched to DW MX2004 so that I could start learning the code (as it's big claim was that it shows design/code/both)... though I am not exactly thrilled at the idea of it adding code that isn't strictly necessary! Tsk!

Oh well, may as well use it as a starting block for testing things out... if I really get into it I may actually buy a book on how to write just the code. (Be prepared for some major upsets and tantrums! Lol)

Well, it did take me nearly two days to complete the tutorials... so that may be a reflection on the program (or how retarded I am!)

1) It's 8am now, and far too early in the day to be nautical! lol (I'll just say a quick 'Hey' instead)

2) Already six-slotted and my most used move!

3) I'll remortgage my property now shall I? lol Have given up trying to keep my enhancements overly updated... I had a budgeting crisis at level 15 when I kitted myself out with a full set of DOs and outgrew them too quickly (leaving myself very poor indeed!

Thankfully though, infamy doesn't appear to be that much of a problem now that I am in level 20s... that said, I haven't bought an SO yet (I nearly choked when I saw the prices!). Spent 37K on a new outfit instead - and personally, I think it was 'worth every penny'! lol (I love my snazzy new cape!)

4) Sshhhhh! Don't tell people that! I like being old(er)... the older you get, the more you seem to get away with!

5) You never know, and it's free to register (I think). Even if you don't get signed, people can still rate your songs and give you an idea of what they think.

1) No worries. I'm not doing anything with it... it can sit there until you need it. There's no limit to how much you can hold is there?

2) That's fantastic... is there anything specific besides prestige gathering that you need me to do?

3) Cool. I'm available from 1pm (to fit in with you and not to confuse things too much!) until 8.30pm (I have to log off by 8.55pm usually). Then I can be back on from 11pm until 3/4am (I'll be getting tired by this time as I am nearly thirty... it's all downhill from twenty-five, so be warned!!!)

Also, I am shifting Demonic's build slightly so that he'll be better at group work... i.e. a bit more towards DPS and less exclusive to one-hit wonders and solo/assassination tactics.

*NOTE* Though if I am ever teamed with anyone and you see me nipping off round the corner for a few seconds... it's because I'm hiding (not dodging combat! lol). Those critical hits can do some excellent damage and can be far quicker (and kinder on the old endurance levels) than trying to 'swipe/slash/whatever my attack is called' somebody to death! (Though I am still working on my tactics!)

Fabulous idea... so far, over a third of my salvage has been 'tech' (on Demonic that is, not sure about the other toons).

With all these new members and with people having alts, would it be a nice idea to drop a quick post to let people know who your toons are and what you like to be called in chat? I know Ed's alts (and that he likes to be called Ed!), and I also know that 'Mars' is 'Lasher'... but it may be a bit confusing for other new members? Also, maybe even your hero name in case somebody needs to get hold of you whilst you're playing CoH?

I know a lot of you are already used to each other through the CoH SG, but somebody who is totally new to OotCS may find it a bit confusing or difficult to keep up!

Just an idea... let me know what you think.

The way that I understand it, and I could be very wrong on this due to:

a) Still being a bit of a noob

b) Reading the forums late at night whilst drinking red wine and eating copious amounts of cheese... makes you dream all sorts of crazy stuff!

Anyway, I digress... The way I understand it is that in the early stages you suffer no infamy loss when in SG mode (in favour of prestige). It is only when you develop past level 20 or so that the infamy begins to decline. I also read something about it being more cost effective to buy the prestige (instead of earning it in SG mode) after level 35? I did have another quick search for this info on the forums, but surprisingly I couldn't find it... Although:

a) It is still very early.

b) I may have dreamed it - see cheese & wine theory above!

Anyhow, the last time I checked the difference between SG mode and non-SG mode was at level 12 - by killing two identical mobs (one in and one out of SG mode). At that level there was no difference in the infamy/prestige that was gained for each kill. I tried this a few times, both in missions and on the streets. So, for the moment I'm just running in SG mode all the time. Once I notice a decline in my infamy, then I'll have to start being more economical with SG mode!

I wish they hadn't used the word 'infamy' and maybe chosen 'notoriety' instead. Every time I kill something and see the word infamy, Kenneth Williams pops straight into my head. If I start to dream about him I'm quitting the game! lol

Oh my, so many things to say and posts to reply to... am gonna have to start visiting the thread hourly just to keep up!!!

1) Lokanna - Fabulous pictures. You're making me miss SWG... such a pity that they trashed the game with the combat revamp. One of my accounts was so close to being a jedi.

*note* Yes peeps, I said one of my accounts... as a true altaholic (and with SOE being so mean only allowing one char per account), I ended up with three separate accounts. Cost me a bloody fortune!

2) Lokanna - Also, I had a master dancer too (on Bria). Oh, those were the days!

3) Plight - Level the cheerleader to 50??? How many hours do you think I have in a day?

4) Dreamweaver - Re: 'the shoes'. I've seen enough posts mentioning them that I'm starting to become curious. Go for it girl, hit me with it - full description please!

5) The Shrouded Scorpion - Hey there & welcome! As for TS, I'm more than willing to get on there... I even have a funky little headset just waiting to be used.

6) Everybody - To anybody that does decide to use TS when I'm on... I apologise in advance for my vulgar language (I've lived in Manchester for too long and we swear something chronic around here!)

7) Anybody who is willing - If my language does get a bit too much, then feel free to give me a verbal spanking (I do so enjoy them!)

Krystel Black (my latest alt!). She's a dominator & 'by heck' does she kick some buttie (see Sin, I remembered not to use the word [censored]!).

Well, I think that was fun... to tell the truth, I'm not sure I knew what was happening for most of the time. Everytime somebody died, they'd be back within seconds and nobody seemed to be winning or losing anything... does the system keep a score or something for everyone to view afterwards? Think I'll stick to my sneaky assassinations with my skanky little stalker-dude!

Anyway, at least I got to sample flight control... and what a nightmare that was!!! Think I'll stick to leaping everywhere instead. I spent most of my flight time caught up in a wire fence... not very attractive for a cheer-leader!

TS makes me sound like some skank from Manchester - which incidentally is what I am, so all's good there! I usually play MMOs on American servers, and they're just crazy about TS over there. A/S/L is of no real consequence to me... just thought I'd throw it in for good measure. Though it should also help to avoid any confusion when I'm on with my female toons (never ceases to amaze me how differently female characters get treated in these games - you can get away with murder, literally!)

Grat's (& kudos) on the drum-playing... I never made it past treble recorder in third year primary school (I'm not very musically minded I'm afraid!) Hehe! As for your tendency to talk a lot... bring it on! That's what I like about guilds/SGs/etc. - the random chatter that occurs in SG chat. (Once I get started, it's sometimes difficult to shut me up!).

Am looking to join an SG and after reading your threads (CoV and CoH), I'm interested in 'The Order...'

I am male/29/UK and new to CoH and CoV - however, I do have a lot of experience with other MMORPGs (UO, AO, SWG, EQ2, etc). I tend to prefer solo/duo play, but always seek to join a guild/org/sg mainly for the knowledge-sharing, social aspects and for the mutual support. (I would also be interested in some team-play, but I must warn you that I have very little team exp).

I tend not to rush towards 'end-game' - I like to take my time and enjoy the complete game. Oh, and I don't 'do' PvP (mainly because I'm a wimp!)

I've started two main toons on CoV...

The Demonic Claw (Claw/Regen/Psychopath!)
Mistress Duarte (DM/DA/****!)
