Well the finalist are up on the contest page.

I must have done something wrong because I have only gotten 4 comments, one of which was my reply to DR, and only 14 ratings.

The only ones that are at 7 are 8Ballers and GrandConjurer's

I wonder what my rating would be if I had voted 10 instead of 5 considering it is right now at 4.4.

I might pick it up once I migrate from my laptop back to a desktop later this year because games seem to not like my laptop.

That is what follows the 2nd option in the very first post.

I would be up for option 2.

My toons include a lvl 50 healer, 41 pb, 21 blaster and a 21 MM.

Mine has been added to the list as well.

I guess I am going to email David and upload a new version because it is still compressing.

Edit: I just sent an email off to David telling him that mine is still compressing since friday and sent the link to my video as in less than a hour I was able to upload it and have it compressed.

That would indeed suck.

But I am too excited about the Tropic Thunder premiere tonight to worry about this really.

8Baller, I think that method is actually faster than the plug-in from my experience messing around with it but the plug-in does have a lot of options for anyone looking for something a little different.

[/ QUOTE ]While I don't know how 8baller did his video, I know how a cartoonish look like in his video can be achieved. The easiest way is a a free effect plug-in called Cartoonr that offers a variety of settings to give different cartoon like looks. Another way that I did it before I found that plug in was an effect that found edges and darkened them while making everything else white. So that it had the same color I would blend it with the original and then adjust contrast and brightness so it looks similar to the image while still having the dark lines. This was the actual result of that method.

When I was contemplating different looks to add to my video, I considered putting that look on mine but decided that the video was fine without it.

I guess it is back to creating fire in After Effects. Part of the energy effect in my video, as well as something in SG-1 Ark of Truth, gave me this idea of creating artificial fire and it actually looks interesting so far.

Still compressing and going on 36 hours since it started.

Bingo, it still hangs as a general submission.

I just compared the quality of the 150 mb and the 25 mb one in After Effects. They both came from a full quality 800+ mb file and I think the one that went through Windows Media Encoder is a little better as it has a bit more contrast than the other one.

Well I am uploading a version that is only 25 mb verses the 150 that the first one is and I am just uploading it as a general movie to see if it goes through.

I say we turn that chainsaw battle over the car into a chainsaw battle with them over all these issues now.

Gotta love Game Trailers, still marked as compressing after 20 hours.

[/ QUOTE ]Not sure but I think it stays saying Compressing till it is added to the list because mine has been compressing since about 4:30 pm pacific at the latest. Should have been done after 2 1/2 hours because I forgot about running it through Windows Media Encoder which in the end brought the file size down to a mere 25 mb.

Youtube is looking better right now considering how long it takes to compress a video. My video is supposed to take 2 1/2 hours to compress because it is just over 150 mb. I had trouble getting it down that much while keeping the quality too.

edit: Well now it is up on youtube after less than 1/2 hour. My voice over turned out horrible but that is what I expected.

Mine is uploaded and is compressing. I found that when it originally uploaded, it gave me an error and didn't say anything about compressing but I reloaded the page and it told me that the video was compressing.

Man Leandro, I was looking through the comments on your video and it is obvious they do not know what they are talking about nor do they know what it takes to put these videos together.

I look forward to seeing what they say about my video after seeing those comments.

Edit: Hopefully I might be able to get something up tonight because I am rendering it out in Premiere right now with music and voice overs.

Edit 2: Not going to happen. I did manage to get all the video rendered out including the particle system which was time consuming. It will be up midday as I need to re-record a piece of footage as it came out jumpy the first time.
