This is actually totally fantastic if I have won. I was bummed at not getting the last code I needed on Christmas Eve (I just missed Niv's final post) and from not winning the Champ PERC costume contest.

Also, last night my computer exploded while trying to test a new MMO that we won't mention here, and so coming home today form work I had to piece together my clunky old desktop PC which has been sitting in pieces in a cupboard. I was amazed it worked at all, amazed that I checked the forums just in the nick of time to see this contest, and even more amazed that my slow old puter managed to upload the wordsearch to imageshack in time before anyone else, woot!

I think my bad luck over the weekend has finally changed, yay

Every time a new MMO appears on the market the Devs do something that in one way or another mocks the new game. The event also serves to distract players from leaving.

We had Rikti when Tabula Rasa launched. We had Cimerora when Conan arrived. We had power spectrum just as CO arrived to underline how CoX had far more customisation going on.

Now we are a couple of weeks from Star Trek Online, and out of nowhere a sci-fi menace has started lurking around the edges of our game.

I was gonig to post a week ago asking "where is the inevitable CoX response to STO?" and I think we may just be seeing it.

Or...it's just a Rikti raid week...

FINALLY I get the jokes about Jupiter imploding. Jeez I am slow sometimes...

Happy new year again peeps, it is 2010 for me

I can see the birdy. I like the really advanced magic eye pictures where they are animated and you can see a fish swim or bird fly. Those are kewl.

Sadly people with a glass eye can't see them but they can see "wiggly 3D" gif pictures which are almost true 3D. Those are nice too

This is a stupid day to be at work. No one is calling, no one is emailing and most people who are actually around have left early.

It's even worse than yesterday. The only reason people are walking around outdoors at all is to sort out returning unwanted or broken gifts to stores...

So with all this in mind, I decided to wake my team up by teaching them what magic eye pictures are. None of them know! Well okay, a couple had heard of them but they thought the concept was some kind of joke or prank and refused to believe the pictures were real.

I have tried and sadly failed to convince them otherwise. Reactions have ranged from amused to angry. I have used every trick I know to try and convert their naive eyeballs so they can actually view the pictures properly but the best result I had was someone thinking that the images were somehow "hidden" in the patterns on the pictures (as in, really really small hidden in the gaps between dots...).

Sigh. Now I feel like a freak because apparently I am the only one who can see the things in these pictures. My entire team at work are impaired in some way. Now they have gone home in disgust and I am still here being even more bored. I am going to set new performance objectives next year forcing everyone who works for me to learn how to see magic eye pics.

p.s. It's really fun when you force yourself to see the magic eye pictures in "reverse", by staring intently at something in front of them. They become floating objects that you can move real objects through.
