Thank you for all of your comments and support. Things are really rough for the family, and me as well. Alan and I had been friends since elementary school. Being gamers, we continued to hang out until I recently moved away. Even then, we were able to stay in contact through COH. Sadly, he and I never seemed to be on at the same times during the summer and I never got around to calling him. I will regret that for a long time.

For those who are curious, Alan played mainly on Freedom, with several characters at 50. I do not know the names of them all since I chatted with him via his global name. He was the leader of the VG Unusual Suspects, played heroes in at least 2 different SG's and was in an all Ice Power SG or VG on another server.

I am sad to announce that City of Heroes/Villains has lost one of its players over the weekend. The player known under the global handles of Swift Stuff and Furious Jesus died from complications due to pneumonia at 3:30AM, eastern standard time. Alan was a very active and longtime member of this community, having been with the game since launch.

If any Devs or other players personally knew him and need more details, please PM me. If I recall correctly, Alan posted regularly to the boards and participated in several closed Beta tests.

I did some further research and discovered the problem - grouping. I was not aware of the fact that grouping can seriously impact the amount of prestige being earned vs. fighting solo.

That being said, I still think that the prestige award amounts in groups may be bugged. It almost seems like if a player is not in SG mode, his or her influence earned is not included in the total for the prestige pool but is still counted when the prestige is divided amongst the team.

I would be very interested if someone with lots of friends could research this.

What are all of the factors than can affect how much prestige is earned by a character in SG mode?

The reason I ask the question is that I have noticed a dramatic decrease in the amount of prestige being earned by my characters in an SG on Freedom, regardless of the level of the character. Meanwhile, my characters on another server are earning more prestige in SG mode doing the same actions.

1. Does the size of an SG affect how much prestige can be earned in SG mode?
2. Does rank within the SG affect how much prestige can be earned in SG mode?
3. Is there a decrease in prestige earnings based on how much prestige an SG has already earned?

I am really perplexed and concerned. My SG group on Freedom is trying to expand our base and I need to know how to maximize prestige earnings or discover if my characters on Freedom are somehow bugged and not earning the prestige due to them.
