  1. Thanks for reminding me to check my alts.

Looks like I'll be switching back and forth between my Peacebringer and my Warshade while we're doing the Task Force Commander arcs.

Tonight it's my Warshade, Project SIN.

So that anyone who is looking to join a particular SF can see which one we're doing this week.
  3. It might be helpful if you made a post about the event next week.
  4. The word Radio reminded me of this one from the Brave Little Toaster.

  5. We'll both be at the SFS tonight, we can discuss something before/after that.

    Edit: Some other time than.

I did that last night in Dark Astoria; that was fun.
  7. Never watched many movies.

I did like Liar Liar, Blank Man, and Clue, though.
  8. I'll be able to make it. Alarm is set.
  9. Actually, I think you might be able to.

Your position, between newbie and vet, puts you in a middle ground. You could be a guinea pig for the program acting as a newbie. Since you already know certain key things, you could help us make sure we aren't leaving anything important out that someone should know.
  10. More of the social side of Group Formation, really. Though the tactical side would probably be a part of it too.

Knowing where to ask, keeping in contact with people you can rely on to join your team, things like that.

Edit: Generally speaking, teaching someone to be a team leader/star holder, or at least operate in a leading capacity when necessary.

Damn, that is a good quote.

Edit: If there's no limit on the number of quotes or the length of them, here's one from Cast Away.

    Spoilers, though.

So... I made a rope and I went up to the summit, to hang myself. I had to test it, you know? Of course. You know me. And the weight of the log, snapped the limb of the tree, so I-I - , I couldn't even kill myself the way I wanted to. I had power over nothing. And that's when this feeling came over me like a warm blanket. I knew, somehow, that I had to stay alive. Somehow. I had to keep breathing. Even though there was no reason to hope. And all my logic said that I would never see this place again. So that's what I did. I stayed alive. I kept breathing. And one day my logic was proven all wrong because the tide came in, and gave me a sail. And now, here I am. I'm back. In Memphis, talking to you. I have ice in my glass... And I've lost her all over again. I'm so sad that I don't have Kelly. But I'm so grateful that she was with me on that island. And I know what I have to do now. I gotta keep breathing. Because tomorrow the sun will rise. Who knows what the tide could bring?
  12. If there's still time, and it's applicable, it might help to add Advanced Combat Techniques and Group Formation to the list at the end of the form.

Yes to one, no to the other.

Edit: And by Advanced Combat Techniques, I mean things like sliding, kiting, et cetera. Things you don't normally see players do (pulling and herding being very common).
  13. New Player Council will probably be the easiest to remember.

    You know better than that.

But for the sake of completion, tested and denied. Granite and Ninja Run are mutually exclusive.
  16. Secondhand Lions was a really good movie.

Not a very popular movie, but Benedict from The Last Action Hero was an incredible villain. A real backstabbing mastermind. When he left one chamber of his gun empty to draw Arnold's character out, that was just awesome. At the end of a monologue outlining his plan, he looked into the camera and said this line.

The normal male walk is kinda weak, but the female and huge walks are pretty sweet.

Being that I have several characters with no travel power, I can honestly say that this is the best thing ever.
  21. I forgive you for how disappointing the Science Booster was.

This is the best thing ever. I love you.
  22. Only my first paragraph was addressed toward you. I wasn't jumping down your throat or anything, sorry if it seemed that way.

I think you bring a relevant insight, just like everyone else. But yours comes from a perspective most of us haven't had in a long time (or, possibly due to when we started and when you started, a perspective we never had).

Anyone can give any excuse for why their character can do something. Manipulating gravity powers on empathy, mutating the ability to draw powers from the sun, technological/magical upgrade, tapping into the latent talent of your bloodline/species, anything. Or you can choose that there is no reason.

Same thing with patron powers, you can decide that your character had a short lived relationship with one of the four generals (which seems less likely after you start repeating patron arcs on characters), or you can decide that none of that was canon and you just happen to have powers that look like what Ghost Widow can grant. How many people that focus on RP go through the game with all of their characters (several of them repeating the same arcs) and decide that everything each character experienced was canon?

I'm not saying "Patron/Ancillary Power Pool Customization Nao!" I'm just saying that when/if the time comes, there is no reasoning that can't be explained away.
  24. One thing we are intentionally avoiding is the use of the term "noob". A newbie is someone who is new to a concept, a noob is someone who has no desire to learn beyond the newbie level of knowledge (or un-knowledge).

Villain Side Advocate: I believe that whoever this is, needs to be someone who can reliably, or nearly reliably log in every day. People are not going to want to wait very long for conflicts to be resolved.

Duration of Personal Mentoring Contracts: I'm not sure that we need a set duration. People learn and teach at different paces. People can move on when they're done learning or if there is nothing more to teach. If a pupil has been around for a while and we have many more students than we have teachers, it could turn into a classroom setting (with no more than seven students to a single teacher, for obvious reasons). Going straight from one student to seven would probably be problematic, but a gradual increase over time should be manageable, if it ever even comes up.
