The fun about stick figures is theres no real right or wrong way to do them .

Any other art you might draw the nose too big , place thumbs on the wrong side of the hand or make on leg longer then the other (ive done all of these things in the process of learning)

I think alot of folks are shy about posting art (I was originaly )
but with something like this done mostly for fun and laughs its hard to take any criticism too seriously (and really who would take the time to explain how you are doing stick people wrong ..theyed likely be laughed about ..alot )

as for the lil stick people I really wanted to see how little I could draw and still have the characters recognizeable as their ni game characters . its kinda neat trying to distill a character into just their most prominent features

Oh sure the art forums are filled with amazing artists chock full of talent but what about us folks that can only draw stick figures ?

I won't tell you its awesome :P

but thats how I started out about 4 years or so ago , alot of folks seem to go one of two ways either they

a) give up frustrated as they aren't drawing as well as they would like and not becoming insta masters

b) pick apart their own work in the harshest possiable ways

so as long as you don't fall into the above two traps your on your way .

the tips I can give you are very very slim but i'll tell you what worked for me .

Draw constantly , keep a notepad with you and doodle constantly while your on the phone , on long trips where someone else is driving , waiting to load into a zone in CoX , while watching survivor .

Draw everything and anything

Be willing to try new things and new styles , read ,study attempt to duplicate so as to better understand .

be brave and ask questions and take all the answers you get with a grain of salt

invest in a big bundle of printer or copier paper to practice on

Save everything you draw , draw on every inch of the paper as you can always redraw something you really like later

start collecting an image portfolio , essentially pictures of things you find intresting to draw and reference from

show things and ask for useful feedback , sure its great hearing folks go "wow" but its even more useful to be shown where your weaknesses are , were you may need to hone your craft , heck even just a different way to do things

keep at it mate you'll eventually get back what you put into it with dillegent practice

well as i'll be at the local roller rink I can only hope im only home for a few minutes but wanted to pop in and thank everyone for the Birthday wishes , im never sure what to say but thanks it means alot

when I started drawing (which is right around the time I started playing CoX ) I was notoriously nervous about sharing the things id drawn , then I found the art forums and found people that shared my intrests and love of doodleing , folks that could be counted on to give feedback as well as kudos and i've never been happier .

I think my arts gotten alot better just by having folks to regularly share it with and I value the people ive met here greatly even if we don't all see eye to eye (yeah im a bit of a brat sometimes :P )

Thanks for making art enjoyable for me and my time here fun and of course thanks for birf day wishes
