Oh! Must have taken that live and not from a demo. (My earth armors don't seem to show up in demos.)

And yes, some dastardly villain gave me a tummy ache. It hurt sooooo bad! (Which is odd, given that there's only a dried-out husk of a body inside that armor. Plus some skittles that one of our meaner SG members poured inside.)

    [/ QUOTE ]

Nope, it was a demorecord. What can I say, I'm good.

And yeah, the shot of you yarfing in the Ouroboros fountain was too good not to put in.

  2. Yeah, the plaque thing is a running joke between me and my husband every time we go anywhere.

And HELL YEAH for the video contest! I am so hoping that this spurs people on to try their hands at vids.

(Admittedly, for the record, I am so going to try and win that.)

And thank you for the corrections to include my links!

Nice video, very well done. I especially liked the fade from Hero-costume to Wedding-garb for Manticore and Psyche.

Thanks! As always, it's my last minute ideas that turn out really well.

Yes, and am updating the SP website as I type this. Since the primary post just has a link to the SP website, that link won't change.

I know that SamuraiKo and some of the dev team ware recording it during testing, so you should see at least 2 videos with little to no chat spam Not as good as being an arena observer, but close (as a voyeur )

Yes, she was, and while I DIED filming this (including once when an unsuspecting Manticore shot his videographer in the face with a Fistful of Arrows), the video is now available on YouTube!

  6. Hooray, I'm in it!

(Page 11, 2nd panel is the first appearance of Tisiphone MistWalker, my Mind/Psi Dom from Justice... She's standing in front of all the guests because I was filming the ceremony and the other guests were nice enough to let me stand up front so I could film.

On the downside... this meant that when it all hit the fan, Manticore shot Tisiphone in the face with a Fistful of Arrows and dropped her in her tracks, ignoring my wail of, "YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO SHOOT YOUR VIDEOGRAPHER!")

Great work, Chase! Absolutely loved it!

I think the 'get Fusionette/Faultline to the wedding on time', and the Carnvial of Shadows/'Cinderella shoes' mission ideas are great!

I was starting to wonder if people even noticed my whole 'wedding uber-story arc' post back there...

  9. Instead of throwing more fuel on the fire about the should-they-shouldn't-they wedding pack stuff, I offer this as an entertaining suggestion.

Make the entire wedding into an uber-huge story arc...

    1) At least two missions sending you to all the different Tailors to find the right outfit (first in your size, and then in stock)
    2) Stopping a jewelry store from being robbed (which just happens to be the one where the happy couple bought their rings, which are now stolen, oh no!)
    3) Track down and beat the snot out of whoever stole the rings
    4) Someone's abducted the officiant... go save that poor sap
    5) The best man and/or maid of honor (also superheroes, probably Fusionette and Faultline) are stuck someplace, go bail them out so they can get to the wedding
    6) The Carnival of Shadows has bought all the good shoes for women, so go stomp on 40 of them until you find a CoS chick with the right size feet and swipe her shoes
    7) Go fight certain groups to collect certain types of salvage to invent 'the perfect wedding gift'
    8) Timed mish to get to the wedding on time, with at least five groups out to stop you, and no travel powers work (because isn't that always the world works?)

    The possibilities are endless...

Whatever else you do, make sure Samuraiko is there! Even if you have to make a special place for her!

Let me guess... someone thinks I should be the videographer?

*imagines her toon bustling around the wedding, telling people where to stand, what to do, and shoving a videocamera in everyone's face*

  11. Ah, now this is how I know I'm in a good marriage - my husband and I have successfully managed to schedule time for each of us to play (because we have only one computer that can handle the game).

And this is despite the fact that we BOTH came down with the flu this weekend!

Wow... I had no idea that 'how to make a video' rant of mine was actually going into the Scoop! I'd have gone for something a bit more... I don't know... professional? Lucid? Something!

Because NCSoft hasn't seen fit to hire us yet. (Although in my case, not for lack of trying.)

  19. And the nice thing is, by Feb, I will have my own computer, which means hubby and I can BOTH be on enjoying the DXP weekends!

But yeah, hurry up with the I-12 info! I need to do a new video...

(The only thing that would make this cooler is if NCSoft actually hired me to do their vids... yeah right...)

Thanks for keeping us in the loop, Lighthouse!

  20. First off, let me say that this post is not meant to be RACIST. This is a post wondering if this has to do with location and whether email/legal restrictions are different in the country of origin.

All three sites are based in China. I checked the online registries. In all three instances, the owners live in China, and as far as I can tell, the sites are hosted there as well. (Two appear to be hosted there - the third is running his/her own server, or at least is using his/her own nameservers, which makes it harder to tell. I haven't finished running down IP addresses yet.)

It's entirely possible (although not in the least excusable) that the spam origination laws are different over there than here. HERE, what constitutes email spam has been LEGALLY defined by government agencies.

I did, however, email the owners of all three domains yesterday letting them know that I have begun submitting complaints to their domain registrars, their hosting companies, and their email providers, as well as to NCSoft. Those complaint emails included the owners' names, addresses, email addresses, and phone numbers, as well as screenshots of the in-game emails and tells I've started collecting.

Should be interesting to see if any of them respond.

    Good Job on that one!!!!

It is a shame though that you had to do something about it, and we are just now hearing something from the rednames after, what four or five months of this crap going on?

    Dark_Respite my new hero!!!

    [/ QUOTE ]

    *bows*

Thank you, thank you. I intend to find other ways to wreak havoc on their site as time goes along. Besides, what else would you expect from the player who, after reporting them to the devs and using the /ignore_spammer option, sends THEM a tell saying "Hello, dufus. You've been reported for spamming, since you have the brains of a bagel. Have a nice day"?

    [ QUOTE ]
If playNC can catch a spammer in action online, they get caught on video (eg FRAPS) showing their level 1 character in breakout being beaten to a pulp by a GM logged in-game (eg Positron) and this gets played ingame at various projector screens (eg outside wentworths/theatres/train stations) so we get to laugh as they get their account blocked (for voluntary viewing if you so desire).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Now THIS has potential. It's too bad there's no /em spastic command (where we can show the toon banging his/her head against some hard object), otherwise I'd be keeping a character parked in Atlas at all times, just waiting for these guys to show up, demorecord them, and start making videos of their toons looking like idiots.

  22. Hey Gigawatt, if it makes you feel any better, I've been submitting complaints about GAGORA.COM's site to their domain registrar, their hosting company, and their email provider explaining that the site is the focus of a spamming campaign.

Maybe it's just a coincidence, but the Gagora.com site is now down. Again. As it has been since I started my own little... um... vendetta against them. Along with my husband's help.

And the owner of the site's email address has already been provided to PlayNC's support team, along with all the details of the site's owner, so we'll see what they make of it.

Just doing what I can to even the playing field...

  23. As a techie, I have my own fun at the spammers' expense.

We all know which sites are the biggest offenders. So I went online, tracked down which registrar handles the domains, who hosts their websites, and who hosts their email.

Then I let all three companies know that the site is linked to a spamming campaign (and I have the screenshots to prove it), and request an investigation into the matter.

Two weeks later, I follow up on it (and provide additional evidence if necessary).

This is the 'polite' way of me messing with them.

Of course, the 'not-so-polite' way is me tracking down the email addresses of the sites' owners, and putting them on the Spammer Hall of Shame page on my website, which is HEAVILY trafficked (and trolled, and spidered, probably for folks looking to spam).

And yes, I also cheerfully handed ALL of this information over to PlayNC's support team (as well as where I got it so they'd know I wasn't making it up) and told them if they needed additional help, I'd be happy to provide it.

  24. While I don't usually do multiple videos by the same group (to force me to do different types of vids), I am still very much tempted to do another BMG video, either to their cover of "I Feel Love", their cover of "Last Train to Transcentral" (now THERE was an obscure original song), or their original song "The Current."

I'll admit, the stuff like Night Prayers is pretty amazing from a technical standpoint.. but content? I suppose I'm the lone voice of dissent on this one. It's just too.. dark, for my tastes. All of 'em from that maker seem to be.

I'll take vids like Time to Start and that other one from Sentai Sage that was posted anytime.
