D_R had hit her stories cap until her Dev's Choice mission got borked and she's no longer allowed to edit it. I could probably republish "Hell Hath No Fury...", but I've been too busy using the MA to film my 5th anniversary commemorative video.

I hope to God the MA spurs more people into doing real, honest-to-God machinima for CoH and not just "how fast can we do the ITF?"

Yeah, "Lights... Camera... MAYHEM!" got borked during the latest patch, and thanks to Dev's Choice arcs no longer being editable by players, I can't fix the damn thing.

So instead, you must content yourself with my two arcs "Positron Gets Some!" and "Dyne of the Times." Both can be found by searching for @Samuraiko.

Agent Sorina Tavarisch - fifth in command of the Star Patrol. Former Vanguard scientist and soldier, now part-time researcher and lecturer on science/physics at Paragon University in Founders Falls, where she also resides. Also dates Dr. Raymond Keyes in what passes for her spare time.

Agent Andrea Blake - co-founder and fourth in command of the Star Patrol. Former street vigilante, now full-time superhero. Lives in the Star Patrol base, having grown up on the streets of Eastgate Heights. Currently in a "friends with benefits" relationship with the superhero Synapse.

Johanna Sinclair (Triumph) - the time-bending, troublemaking, techie pagan nun. A time traveller and nun-in-priest's clothing, she spends most of her time in Ouroboros, but also lives in the Twilight Vanguard base.

Johanna Sinclair (Freedom) - superhero, daredevil videographer, fiancee of Doctor Leo, and #6 Most Wanted on Lord Recluse's hitlist for publicly embarrassing him on camera. Always on the move, so no fixed abode, although it's a safe bet that wherever Doctor Leo is, Jo is not far away.

Yep. We are based on the Justice Server (as is our related VG, the Nova Dominion). For more information about joining the Patrol, visit the Star Patrol website. The Nova Dominion doesn't have a site yet, but both groups are fairly active, and we are known to coordinate events for the members (for example, GM hunts, Task Forces/Strike Forces, badge hunts, story-related events, etc).

On the bright side, while running around briefly in-game as Agent Takimura (with the Star Patrol's newest recruit, Shady Leo), I got an in-game tell from someone who was asking what I was an agent of. I replied, "Star Patrol," we chatted a bit, and it turns out this person was a fan of the story.

Then I told him/her I was the author.

And OMG, much squeeing. It just made my night. It's a great feeling to have folks fangirling over me. Especially since I'm really not anything special.

In completely unrelated news, I found a techno version of "O Fortuna" by Carl Orff that I had been searching for for over three years. So I am so tempted to use this as the mental fight music for Hro'Dtohz vs Av'Adn.

A bit of background, then, on the character Av'Adn. (This is not story-related stuff, because that will come out over the next chapter or so, and then more later in the story.)

First off, the character itself came about (as do so many things) via conversations with John (aka Bloodspeaker). Once I knew they weren't going QUITE through the LGTF, I needed something more impressive, different, something that would make readers go, "Oh, CRAP!"

Now, as a lot of you know by now, the LGTF is very strongly based off the Book of Revelation. (The Seer, the Dragon, the Beast and the Sea, the Four Riders of the Apocalypse, etc.) So what else could I bring through here?

Easy - we have seven seals, seven angels pouring bowls of plagues, etc. So, while I thought of bringing in seven Rikti, I couldn't quite nail down seven powersets that would work.

So instead, I went for the four elements - fire, earth, wind/electricity, and water/ice (four elements referred to in the first four of seven trumpets sounding).

The fifth trumpet heralds the opening of the great pit, so as the portal is opened, and the Rikti come through, they are led out from the abyss by what is referred to in the Bible as "the Destroyer" - Abaddon (or Avaddon in Hebrew). The name also refers to the Angel of Death, or the Angel of the Apocalypse, and has also come to mean 'the place of destruction'.

Abaddon... Avaddon... Av'Adn.

And as the angel of death, he is wielding, of course, a scythe. As for his powersets... you'll see soon enough.

What can I say? I liked the Revelation motif enough to take it one step farther (not to mention I did a strong emphasis in Biblical Studies/World Religions when I was in college).

Can you just imagine this as an extension of the LGTF?

To answer Torroes' statement, yes, it sort of made sense... sort of. Glad I inspire, sorry I obstruct.

To answer inferno, like I said earlier... as if I'd cop out so easily and just have the Honoree show up. And Phillips surviving was actually one of my last-minute inspirations, thanks to yet ANOTHER conversation with my husband John.

To answer Hitsu, I'm hoping yes, more will get written faster. It's just that this is tougher ground for me to write (although one-on-one combat I've had a lot of practice writing, thanks to several duel scenes from THE SWORD OF THE SOUL).

And believe me, I want the Hro'Dtohz/Av'Adn duel to be teeth-clenchingly awesome as I can possibly make it.
