  1. This isn't so much as a bug, but a really really big glaring suggestion. I apologize if this is in the wrong forums, but I couldn't find a better spot for it at the time.

As I recall prior to i21, these buttons were clearly labeled "Back to Login" and "Play", or something similiar. Now, for individuals with only one page of characters, this isn't an issue, but as I assume many of us do - I can't even begin to comment on how many times I've clicked on that next arrow, intending to switch pages on character select, but instead logged in to the first character in the list.

Its not a huge deal, but drives me up a freaking wall.. Would love those changes to be more obvious as to what they do.

  2. I've been watching all of these posts, and not to derail the current conversation, but I haven't heard an answer to one of my biggest questions about the VIP Headstart.

How long AFTER the headstart, for free players to access the game? I have a whole batch of friends looking to check the game out, and I still don't have a date to give them on when it goes live for the general public.

True, but Cole has never struck me as "pretty standard" anything - he comes across as very calculating and meticulous over his plans, and never approaches anything directly. When/if he does approach something directly, there is a reason, which may or may not be obvious to those around him at the time.

I personally wouldn't put this level of deception and manipulation outside his grasp, but it more comes down to which side of the alignment table you see him shifting towards.

If my idea is even remotely on target, the simple benefit to the argument, is to put on a show. Call it political theatre with a bit of inception. In order for his plan to work, he needs to reinforce to his own troops, and he's doing this for benevolent reasons, and that Duray was entirely out of line. Duray, as far as he's concerned, will see the argument as sincere, as he would have no idea the idea wasn't his, so he would defend his reasons and methods.

Him defending himself against Cole, and the ensuing argument, helps to reinforce the idea to those under Cole, that Cole was taking the more level-headed and rational approach, and has the best interests of Primal Earth in mind (making it more likely that while his troops are in Primal Earth, they will relay those same sentiments to the civilian population).

  5. I'm new to the whole story discussion thing here, despite playing CoH for years. But someone alluded to something early in the thread that nobody has really touched on.

That short story implied, very subtly, that Cole, or someone connected to Cole, has the capability to modify memories. Who is to say that Cole didn't implant the idea in Duray's mind (omgz, inception!), of using the Hamidon Seeds - then in front of his own troops, pin the blame firming on Duray, making Cole look like the level-headed benevolent leader to those who follow him, while still getting the more murky methods of attacking Primal Earth that he wanted.

He wipes the memory on Duray, Duray never is the better to what's happened, and Cole gets to keep playing the role of of "savior", while going about it in much more evil ways.

  6. How long has it been down exactly?
  7. I'm having similiar issues that some have noted having, but I will copy/paste my issue here to keep information compiled.

Ages ago on my account, as I've had it for years, I've bought multiple character slots, filled them up with characters, and generally had no issues (current ongoing issues accessing beta aside). Today I went to delete a character, to make another character with some friends, and after deleting the character, the slots are no longer available. I try deleting another low level, same deal.

It seems I've basically "lost" character slots at some point, which is rather frustrating to say the absolute least. So for now, I can't create any new characters. Anyone have any experience with this? As its the weekend, sending a ticket in what accomplish much, and they already have an active ticket with me over beta anyhow, heh.
