Gratz on the new group guys. Was immensely fun having you in PE while it lasted.
Beta will probably have a heartattack for me suggesting this, but could you hurry up and challenge to get on the roster so we can fight each other? :-) Moar pvp nao! -
Less drama, moar pvp plz.
VR split up, some came to PE. They became PE members. They missed having their VR friends all together in one group. So they created a new one. End of story. Nothing to see here. Move along nao. -
My bad, I put a period <.> at the end of the sentence, which you took as a period <.> at the end of the global. :-) It is just @KitKat, no period.

Perhaps this would be more productive if you'd give us ideas of what exactly you want of said artists and how much demand this is going to put on anyone who agrees. At the moment, it's a blank check for slavery.
[/ QUOTE ]
Fair question.
As an artist for PERC, you are a consultant, not bound by the normal requirements our representatives have. In other words, when we have contests, when it is convenient for the artist, time-wise, and they are able and willing to provide artwork.
For example, we just had a pretty big Scavenger Hunt contest here on the forums. Offering a customized avatar or personal character artwork could have been a great prize for one if not all of the winners.
How often we would ask for the artwork probably would be once every few months. Even then it would be dependent on the artists who join us as to if they are available and able to do it at the time we request it. At times we may request a bit more, again it is still entirely up to the artists that volunteer as to what they are capable of, and willing to volunteer.
No slave labor here. :-) -

Off topic, I believe that is the best video I have seen on these forums. Wow. :-) -
We had a judging committee assigned to tediously count each and every single item in each and every picture. I assure you that no one got credit for any item that was not within the guidelines, or specifically what we were looking for.
Remember, number of items only counted for a percentage of the score, creativity was equally as important.
Again, thank you to all of you who participated, awesome job! -
We at P.E.R.C. had a hard decision to make this week. We want to thank everyone for their patience, hard work and creativity in all of your submissions and in waiting for the results. The submissions in this contest were way more than we ever anticipated! Without further ado, we give you the winners!
<ul type="square"> [*]1st place --Talysin [*]2nd place -- Velvet Misery [*]3rd place -- AOE Attacks
They have won the following prizes, which will be mailed to them ASAP.
<ul type="square"> [*]1st place -- Hero Gear Kit and forum title.
[*]2nd place -- T-shirt, time card, and forum title.

Dark Astoria. Yeah I know would make it hard as hell to pvp smacking in to the side of buildings and stuff, but ummm can we say fun?
Also there is a room in the council base maps that is multi levels with stairs and pools that I totally get lost in , but would probably be a good pvp challenge. -
Are you an artist? Are you interested in sharing your work with the community?
Well then, good news; P.E.R.C. is currently looking to add some artists to our roster who would like to help give back to the "City of" community by donating some of their free time and talent.
Artwork is always an extremely coveted prize by our community. Unfortunately, the current P.E.R.C. representatives' stick figure drawings leave much to be desired. For example.
So if anyone would be willing to assist us in enhancing the overall PvE experience of our shared community by donating personalized artwork for the winners of our events, please send a private message to @CriticalKat.
Please be sure to include any limitations you feel might be pertinent. A link to any artwork samples you have available would also be appreciated.
Thank you for your time, and we hope to see you at our next event! -

Being you were obviously posting while I was ending the contest, we will allow your entry. :-) -
Thank you to everyone who entered our contest. No more entries will be accepted past my post, it is officially over.
We want to make sure that we count each and every item to be accurate in declaring our winners, thus we will be taking a week to judge.
Winners TBA one week from today on this thread.
On behalf of P.E.R.C. I would like to extend our thanks to all of you who supported our event by participating. There are some fabulous entries, and it will be very difficult to narrow it down. Good luck to all of you. -
All I can say is wow! This is going to be one hard contest to judge for this committee. So far I see some fabulous entries!
:-) -
Ok, here is my attempt at explaining how to add screenshots.
<ul type="square"> [*]1. First make sure you are in the appropriate thread. for submitting your screenshots.
[*]2. You must use a site such as photo bucket to host your screenshots.
[*]3. Once your screenshots are set up on a photo hosting website, you want to click on the screenshot you are trying to add to the forums, and then copy the URL associated with that picture.
[*]4. When posting each picture, you will click "URL" from the Instant UBB Code list in your posting options. A little window will pop up and you want to paste the URL of your picture in that window then click "ok". Another window will come up, and there you want to type whatever title you want to use for that picture.
[*]5. Follow those steps for each of your 5 screenshots.
[*]6. It is also highly recommended that in your post of your screenshots that you include a list of items within each picture. This will asssist us in ensuring that none of your items are missed. :-)
Hope this helps, unfortunately I am not the best at things like this. -
Our scoring system is not cut and dry. It is impossible to judge on creativity cut and dry. As far as the items part of the scoring, hopefully this will give a little more perspective.
Picture #1 -- has 3 mezzed people in it = Gets points for 1
Picture #2 -- has 10 mezzed in it = Gets points for 1
Picture #3 -- has 10 mezzed in it = Gets points for 1
Picture #4 -- has 5 mezzed in it = Gets points for 1
Picture #5 -- has 10 mezzed in it = Gets points for 1
The thing is that a picture with 10 mezzed people might only get 1 point for the item part, but we may think it is a "wow" factor on the creative part. Then again if you use a mezzed person in every single picture we might think you should have shown us something new and refreshing. It is up to each of us individually how we may perceive the entry. Half of each entries score is based on creativity. Creativity is also a factor in what items you choose to repeat/not repeat. -
[ QUOTE ]
Edit: So it's not so much how many items we get as our creativity in getting them? If I get 50 objects and somebody else gets 60, I can still win if mine are more interesting?
[/ QUOTE ]
We are judging equally on both number of items and creativity. So yes, in theory if you were to just "wow" us with creativity and had a few less items than someone else you could win, and visa versa. -
[ QUOTE ]
Oh, another thing, along the lines of signing/watermarking: can we LABEL our pictures (IE, "Stop sign" "AV" "Emote")? So we can make sure that the judges don't miss something, especially if it's obvious?
I mean, I'd hate to get docked a point for not showing "Something blue" when the SKY takes up half the picture, y'know?
[/ QUOTE ]
You will be posting your pictures in this thread. If by labeling you mean doing so in the file name or the picture , then no.
You however would be encouraged to make a list of items for each picture in your post.
While we will be doing our absolute best to make sure we do not miss anything, we are only human. A list could do nothing but help. :-)
To answer another question now.
[ QUOTE ]
Can we use photoshop to SIGN or watermark our pictures? I'd hate for people's pictures to get stolen and then have a huge fuss over who's picture it really is...
[/ QUOTE ]
No watermarks or signatures on the actual pictures allowed. There is no need for them. Everyone will be posting their pictures here in this thread. Obviously if 2 people submit the exact same picture we would know the first person that posted it must be the owner.
If you absolutely feel you must have some proof in the pictures that it is yours then we suggest you include your character in the picture some how. -
I will be answering several of the questions in one reply.

Yes, demo-editting is against the rules and an automatic disqualification.

Giant Monster. I truly believe that the Game Masters would not be happy with us otherwise. :-)

Give me until tomorrow for an answer to this final one. We had not considered that, so I will ask the committee.

The P.E.R.C. Screen Shot Scavenger Hunt!
This one is for all of our "City of" gamers who enjoy taking screen shots; here's an opportunity to really let your creative juices flow.
We've created a list of items, located below, that can be found in-game on both the Hero and Villain side. Your job is to locate these items in-game, and then take screen shots of them in a creative way.
The real challenge is to include as many of the items from the list as you can in each of your shots.
The Rules:
<ul type="square">
[*]Emotes are allowed and encouraged.
[*]Using characters to enhance the photo(s) is also encouraged.
[*]Do not use any photo-enhancing programs (such as Photoshop or PaintShopPro); we want unaltered screenshots. Any altered entries will be disqualified.
[*]You must link the photos to this thread by April 15th, 2008.
[*]Each entry must include 5 screenshots, no more, no less.
[*]Judging for this event will be based on creativity, and the contestant's ability to include as many items as they can from the list below in each screen shot.
Make us giggle. Make us think. Make us feel something through your screen shots. Be creative, and have fun with it.
Prizes are as follows:
<ul type="square">
[*]1st place -- Hero Gear Kit and forum title.
[*]2nd place -- T-shirt, time card, and forum title.
[*]3rd place -- Villain mouse pad, goody bag, and forum title.
Below is the list of items that qualify for this contest. Remember to get as many as possible in to each one of your screen shots, and use as much creativity in taking them as you can!
The List:
<ul type="square"> [*]A small boat
[*]A plant
[*]A dead player
[*]An NPC performing an emote
[*]A SG/VG base item or a base portal
[*]A beach
[*]A sunrise or sunset
[*]An AV/EB
[*]A GM
[*]A Rikti invasion
[*]Outbreak/Breakout
[*]Ghosts
[*]Costume contest
[*]DJ Zero
[*]PvP fight
[*]Polarized PPD
[*]Dead tree
[*]Bank
[*]Checkered flag
[*]Brick building
[*]Fountain
[*]An ampitheatre
[*]Solar panels
[*]A wizard
[*]A purple car
[*]Partying trolls
[*]Stop sign
[*]Snake
[*]Someone using a power
[*]A "ragdoll physics" picture
[*] Someone who's mezzed
[*]Something blue
[*]Something depicting Heroism/Villainy
[*]Graffiti
[*]Protestors
[*]An upside-down truck
[*]Carnival tent
[*]Slot machines
[*]A long line of people
[*]A spider web
[*]Hot dog stand
Some final clarification on judging:
If one entrant's five (5) pictures are scored as equal to another entrant's five (5) pictures in creativity, the person with the most items (overall) in their five (5) pictures will score higher. So, the idea is to incorporate as many items in each of your pictures as you can.
Good luck!

Yep, so, when iis AoC's release date so we can star planning these fun occasions?
[/ QUOTE ]
I am confused, what does that have to do with hami raids?
[/ QUOTE ]
'Kat was there. Not sure why she doesn't put the two together...
[/ QUOTE ]
You are referring to the raid UHB attempted to run a while back? No didn't put it together because I know those problems that ultimately caused that raid to get called off were personal against the leader attempting to run that raid. That doesnt mean any and all hami raids will cause that to happen.
Every hami leader for the most part has someone who doesn't like them, and possibly could get griefed. Most "griefers" seem to be situational based on who is running. I would never think a few players leaving the game would make or break hami raids being sucessful. There have been atleast 2 raids I know of since UHBs attempt that were successful and not griefed. -
