Okay...my turn!

I remember turning on the Targeting Drone and going "Hey, what's that sound?"

I remember running around as a Rikti during the invasion. Except I wasn't running around (can we say chain held?) I think we had ka-zillion hit points. We also spoke fUnNyee lIKe ThIs. You heroes couldn’t stop laughing at us.

I remember when I was checking on the Hamidon to see if it spawned correctly. We had to keep an eye for spawning errors at the time. Sadly, I forgot to hide. It couldn't kill me, so my screen was COVERED with de-buff icons....probably about 30 full rows of them. It wouldn't let me go. I had to log.

I remember a blaster who didn't realize I was talking to him in tells about a problem he reported. I followed him (while visible) down the streets of Steel Canyon trying to get his attention. Finally he pivoted and said "Why is this police bot following me?” (Sorry...I didn't mean to spook ya)

The Cathedral of Pain has been brought offline due to technical reasons. Earned Items of Powers will stay in place.

The trial will return in the future. I'll provide more information on that once I can.

The following PlayNC changes have just been be made:

MasterCards can be used to purchase the Good Versus Evil in-game items. There are exceptions to this!

*The Good Versus Evil in-game items are the only type of online code purchases that accept MasterCards. The other online code purchases (game downloads) will not accept MasterCard. Physical products (tees, posters, etc.) always accepted MasterCards and will continue to do so.

*YOU MUST have an existing CoH, CoV or COH/COV account to purchase the Good vs. Evil Item Pack. This is a NEW change.

*If you have a US-based account you MUST select US. Same goes for European accounts...if you play on the European servers you MUST select Europe as your code type. Your actual location does not matter. It strictly depends on what servers you play on.

There are also other limitations regarding online code purchases in general.

Cathedral of Pain is now LIVE.

Between 10/9/06 11AM CST and 10/16/06 11AM CST supergroups with a raidable base will be able to partake in the Cathedral of Pain Trial.

After these 7 days have ended the 21 raidable cycle begins. NOTE: base raids are currently not available. Your base item is currently save during this time period, but in the future, that will all change!

Then the cycle begins again...

We understand that the inability to purchase the City of Heroes Good Versus Evil Edition may be inconvenient and we'd like to apologize for any frustration this may be causing.

Due to the differences between the types of purchases and amount of fraud related to them, our billing limitations for game subscriptions is indeed different from that of online serial code purchases. Unfortunately, the option to use your MasterCard® to purchase an online serial code is simply unavailable.

As an alternative solution, you may wish to purchase a Visa® or Discover® issued gift card to make the online serial code purchase. You will want to check the particular gift card's Term of Service to be sure that it can be used for online purchases.

You may also want to check with your local Wal-Mart® to see if they have box copies in stock. Although the pricepoint will be a bit higher, you will receive an included month of game time, the installation disks and some additional goodies that only come with the retail box. The Good Versus Evil box is also available online at walmart.com.

Again, we apologize that you have experienced any inconvenience due to the inability use your MasterCard® to purchase an online serial code but we hope that the suggestions offered will assist you.

It looks like Walmart.com has the Good Versus Evil combo box in stock. Woo hoo! At least, right at this moment...:P

I bring you more good news. The Good Versus Evil in-game items are now available for purchase through PlayNC.com!
Our ETA was the 6th...we got it up a day early

The in-game items cost 9.99. These are the same in-game items you can get through the Good Versus Evil combo box....but with this option you get just the in-game items for your existing COH, COV, or COH/COV accounts.

Once you go to PlayNC.com and click on the Store tab scroll down to the City of Heroes (or City of Villains) logo. Look for this link:

"Buy the game instantly (retail code online, download, no box)"

You won't find the in-games items next to the tees...it is in the section for online code purchases.

IMPORTANT:

*If you are having issues make sure you are logged into PlayNC. It will take you to the Account Management Page - then go to the store while logged in.

*Make sure you log out of the game completely (to your Windows desktop) before upgrading your account.

*I'm sorry to say that MasterCard is not accepted for online code purchases. The in-game items only package is an online code purchase.

We are aware that many are still experiencing issues getting a copy of the Good Versus Evil combo from their local store. Please be sure to call your local store to check for availability.

The GvE boxes have been shipped to Walmart stores. As many of you know there has been a delay on getting these on the shelves.

Many Walmart stores do not expect Good Versus Evil to be in stock until possibly the end of this week. However, the availability may still vary per store - it could be later for some locations. So you may want to call ahead to see if they have it.

We certainly did not anticipate any delays. Please remember that there are many outside factors that can affect a product once it is packaged and sent out. We simply had no control over this one.

It appears that Walmart.com is currently out of stock...BUT they have indeed ordered more. That is confirmed.

Note: There is a separate issue that has delayed the "in-game items only" online package (this is the package you will be able to purchase through PlayNC.com) This delay is unrelated to the Good Versus Evil Box delay. The in-game items only package was delayed for reasons specifically related to the online store.

I have not gone mad with the ban stick. I repeat, I have not gone mad with the ban stick.

If you were banned and unbanned yesterday:

We discovered a problem where many accounts were banned from the boards. These bans were not done manually - it was a system error. At this time all of these accounts have been unbanned. This was an AoE kind of ban stick...this affected thousands of users. Unfortunately, I did not have a way to contact all affected users to explain what had happened.

Also, this morning many of you may have received this message:

"It appears that your game account is currently not active. You must have an active game account to log in, post, edit posts, or send private messages.

Please use your back button to return to the previous page.”

This was an unrelated error that was quickly resolved. Both of these issues have been fixed.

I really don't like it when I have to ban, but when I have to do it, I always send the person an email. That person can always reply back to that email with any questions or concerns they may have. So if you did not receive an email from me yesterday you are golden.

I hope this clears up any and all confusion on what happened.

Nah, we're just bringing back the Halloween event for some additional testing. It will start at approximately 10am CST on 9/29/06 (tomorrow) and run til 10/2/06 10am CST.

We present to you the Veteran Rewards for the first 12 months.

Due to unforeseeable events the in-game items will not be available through the PlayNC store until Oct. 6th. The Good Versus Evil announcement has been updated to reflect this information. Folks, I'm very sorry for the change in plans.

The Cathedral of Pain is scheduled to arrive on the test server (Training Room) at approximately 9/26/06 10 AM CST.

Some things to note about the CoP in general:

There will be no base raiding...not just yet, anyway. You can't steal Items of Powers from another supergroup, but you *can* still earn an Item of Power through the trial.

The CoP cycle: The trial itself is active for 7 days. After that, 21 days must pass, and then the trial is open once again. You can only complete the trial and earn your Item of Power during that 7 day period. The 21 days are meant for raiding, but as previously stated, you can't raid just yet.

Again, this is just for testing purposes. We're starting this on test on a Tuesday, but please note that the starting day may different on the live servers.

I have some very important news:

Many of you are reviewing your PlayNC account “Total Paid Time” information to determine your Veteran Reward eligibility. There is no need to do this. But don’t panic!

At this time, the "Total Paid Time" information actually has nothing to do with your Veteran Reward eligibility. This information is currently used for other PlayNC purposes. Currently, we do not have a tool available to help you calculate your Veteran Reward eligibility...not just yet, anyway!

The fix is now in place for the test server.

Hey guys,

For those of you who earned your patron respec (but still haven't received it) I wanted to let you guys know that we're getting a fix to the Training Room tomorrow. The estimated arrival time is 9/20/06 3pm CST. Although it is expected tomorrow, I am requesting some action on your part today.

Due to the nature of this bug, we'd like to give you all some time to transfer your character over *before* tomorrow's patch. So if you are waiting for the patron respec, please, go ahead and copy your character over to test. Thank you!

Rumors? We don't need no stinkin rumors! You guys have some questions, and I got you some answers:

The in-game items costs 9.99. You will not lose any of your current in-game items - it doesn't erase your Hero Gear Kit purchase, for example.

You can upgrade your current COH, COV, or COH/COV account with the combo box.

With the 12 character slots...currently, this is the maximum amount of character slots you can have. So if you already have COH/COV, you will still have 12 - you don't get 4 additional slots on top of that.

Be GOOD and BAD...and get new cool stuff!

Now can have both City of Heroes and City of Villains...all in one box. The Good Versus Evil Edition will be released on Sept. 29th!
