Heh.. be careful how you scoop that cat up!
  6. And I for one thoroughly recommend Vex. I can't thank this talented artist enough for the two pieces I have commissioned so far. So check out the gallery on deviantArt or the personal website at Vexiphne.net.

  7. Mwah-ha-ha! You know you want to
  8. Wow! Thanks Juggs and props to all who entered. There were some really good entries.
  9. Comrade Hero

((Heh, I knew my knowledge of Manga and Anime would come in handy someday.))

It's called 'Bishonen' (roughly translates as 'pretty boy'), and is a very popular style over in Japan. Usually drawn by women for women, many 'Bishonen' or Bishie themes include vampires, demons, angels and, shall we say 'forbidden love'?

Anyway, that's what it's called. If you want more info, type 'Bishonen' into Google or Wikipedia and see what you find.

Well, don't say that playing video games and reading gaming forums teaches you nothing! You learn something new every day. Bishonen huh? I think TA could be persuaded to get one of those. Put new meaning to Thor's Assassin vs. Assassin of Thor.

  11. Hi Vex!

Vex does really good backgrounds, check out her gallery sometime. I asked for a minimal sky background and that's what I got.

One thing I have seen on deviantArt is a style of art where there are stylized images of manga influenced men who are very fashionably dressed, usually barechested and have very wavy hair. Not sure what it's called though.
  12. Yeah, Thor's Assassin looks really nice. WTG!

I haven't met too many artists yet 3D Poser style renders of male heroes, I think DJ is one.

That's been a phenomenon ever since Poser came out; a vast majority of Poser art is babe-art. In some ways, it's contributed to the negative stigma Poser has been associated with.

It's also too bad Vex has limited himself to babes only. That's effectively cutting out half his potential client base.

Still, nice render. It could use a background, though. But that's just me.

I agree Doug. Most of the Poser renderer's I have seen on deviantArt are solely females. Perhaps it has something to do with the amount of money you have to spend on outfits, props and skins?

Anyhows, speaking of the male gender - has Comrade Hero made it onto the list of heroes to be immortalized by you yet?

  15. redding and speeling is over8ted.
  16. Yeah TA, adding link to DA now. Vex only does female renders, and I don't think TA is considering gender reassignment yet. Or is he?
  17. No, this is all Vexiphne.

    I bow low before her.

And thanks for the PM Rowr, appreciate it.
  18. And thanks DJ - I will be using them as training pics
  19. Any raunchy Rowrsies images I can practise on?
  20. Thanks you guys!

I'll do my best not to confuse red with green
  21. Hi all,

From next week I'll be training in graphic arts, and will be learning digital colouring with Photoshop. If anyone could help me out with old inked artwork - anything from cuddly soft animals to musclebound oafs - that I could 'borrow' for colouring purposes could you please send me a PM or drop me an email to j.hansard@xtra.co.nz.

And of course you get the coloured pieces back once I'm finished. I can't promise anything spectacular, I'm starting at ground zero

    New art from me!

That's some really nice pencil work there J. I especially like Demon's Geisha and Bombshell.

If you need any subjects to practise on, feel free to use War Bride or Graviton Girl
