Not quite sure if Comrade Hero is completely retro, but his original 2004 look certainly had that masked man of mystery vibe going on:

Thanks, Jean Sinclair was one of the first artists I commissioned many years ago.
Quote:Is that your gun or are you just happy to see me?
Going gang-buster with the posting, Comrade. Keep 'em comin'!
Quote:Damn! I wish I could afford commissions like you can.I'm super envious.
As such I also have to pick and choose carefully when it comes to bigger budget commissions - so I tend to save up and go through 'spurts' of commissioning and not getting anything. -

Quote:Thank you. Daggerpoint does some really great pieces, and I to snap up his sketches when he offers them.Dang, Comrade. Those are some very nice additions to your collection. I can't wait to see the duo coloured.
Love the latest War Bride, bet then I've always been partial to sketches.
Quote:Nice additions indeed. One thing I'm curious about though:
It looks to me like the last couple or so Comrad Hero pieces you posted have him looking a bit younger and less "weathered" or "seasoned" than the image that's been built up in my mind of the character. I'm curious if this is intentional, coincidental, or just something wrong with my.mental image of the character? Perhaps it's just me perceiving a difference?
Whatever though, very nice looking pieces!
Sometimes I mind, sometimes I don't. It depends on the finished piece.

Quote:Daniel's piece is going to be colored by Nei Ruffino (single image of Comrade Hero).is that the one from Danielleister? i love that ink work. sorry for the negative 'uninspired' comment, but i could do stuff similar in the past, now, not so much. I've tried recently but i'm no where near. I know, practice, practice, etc, but life, life, etc, wife, wife, etc, arghhhh
Anyway, loving your piece's mate, still want to see that duo
Sorah's piece (Black Widow and Comrade Hero) has a ways to go, but will be inked and colored as well.
I would love to have an inkling of the talent that these artists have, but my artistic strengths lie elsewhere. -
Haven't thought that far ahead yet, but it will be colored, mark my words
Thankee!
Quote:these are so good, really uninspires me, lol. can't wait to see the duo one coloured. -
Quote:Thanks, looking forward to seeing what Sorah does with Black Widow and Comrade Hero as well. She's been discussing the lineart and coloring techniques with other artists atm.Great depth of texture on the Roy Guinn, and the Sorah is a great composition. Looking forward to seeing the lines and colours some day!
And speaking of which, Jeremy Farlow has a very limited sketch sale going on right now, and I snagged a sketch of War Bride.

And a work in progress.
Approved rough draft layout for Comrade Hero and Black Widow by the lovely Sorah Suhng.
This will take a while to complete - but will be worth it.

Wow! Some very nice artwork being generated by the 401's. Thanks for sharing.

Personally I don't mind the Peacekeepers tie in with any superhero game, but I can understand how some might see it as rather 'odd' that a DCUO themed league group is advertising a competition here in these forums.
Kudos if you can pull off the vision of becoming independent of any MMO.
I love the character reference sheets that have been created for the various Peacekeeper heroes. Even if you have no interest in DCUO or this competition it's worth looking at the Peacekeeper site on deviantART for the art alone. -
Quote:Yeah. I love the coloring Nei has done on the Zenoscope pieces. All your art lately has been great, I've just been too lazy to post after each one... But I'm loving this latest and can't wait to see what Nei does with it!

Something a little different. Take away the gun, the spells, and the uniform and the lady is revealed.
War Bride by Crayonmaniac.

Quote:"The Valiant Comrade Hero" and "Resolute" are the two titles I currently have on Comrade Hero.I believe it's "The Legendary Thor's Assassin" with the other title always being "Destined for Valhalla" (love that badge title
)
Great new piece there brother!
And "Destined for Valhalla" is a favorite badge title of mine as well.
Quote:Lots of great artwork Comrade! Look forward to seeing what you get next.
Quote:Cool piece, there CH - looking forward to seeing it with some colors applied! -

Quote:Thanks VexXxa - always a gamble with photo-manipulations, but I had the perfect model in mind for this Galatea, and of Rebecca did an amazing job on Four-Five TwoGratzzz CH on your new pieces o' artz! RebeccaSX did an amazing job on Four-Five-Two, and ChillyPlasma did an awesome job on the photo-manipulation of Galatea!
Yes, and thanks for your assistance Bayani. Diane was able to get in touch with Rebecca. -
Quote:I can't recall off the top of the head what my ingame title for Comrade Hero is. But Unstoppable turned into partially-Unstoppable a long time ago (sigh) - the joys of an Invulnerability tanker.Comarade should totally be called "The unstoppable Russian". Steadily raking in the pieces bro, always a treat to see. Of course I see them mainly on DA but your characters are instantly recognizable though!
Keep the good stuff coming my friend!
A lot of the recent pieces are in fact older pieces that I've been waiting for a while, or promotional commissions (to support charity, help a deviantART member etc.)
Hmm... what's Thor's Assassin's ingame title?
