I was actually -this- close to going with Luminary and Night Star... just for the lulz. And by lulz I mean kinky robot weirdness.

Nice work Juggertha
The picture over the letter is driving me crazy cause it makes me want to read it
Something about "nasty Perez funk"...
The kleenex box is hilarious. I love the subtle storytelling of little details like that -
My feeling was that if there is no malice involved, then it's probably not violent...plus there is a clue in the picture that suggests consent. Of course it's only apparent if you know who the characters are. It would be lost on an outsider to the CoH universe.
And if you're spanking someone and causing injuries, then you're doing it wrong -
If the iPad performs at least as good as the iPhone, it would make a decent sketching device. I've used a few drawing programs on the iPhone, and they function well-enough - the problem is that drawing with my finger is very awkward, and the screen just isn't big enough. A bigger screen with a stylus might just make it doable.
I'm hearing some reports that the pad response is snappier than the phone, so that's good... but no idea about the touch sensing resolution. -
I am seriously stoked about this. I've wanted a color wheel for Photoshop for a very long time since I gave up on Painter.
/runs off to finish the valkyrie picture with his new color wheel -
I just want to help spread the word about this great plugin for Photoshop CS4. This is not an ad, the programmer is not selling anything.
http://lenwhite.com/
It adds a painter's color wheel picker to Photoshop, just like the one in Corel Painter (which I refuse to use anymore).
This is relevent to the CoH fanart community because a color wheel picker is helpful for making great fan art
For those who have never used a color wheel picker, the advantage is that color is broken down into Hue, Value, and Saturation in a very intuitive way. This is especially helpful for quickly establishing color schemes and arrangements... complimentary, analogous, split complimentary, triadic, tetradic, etc.. You can pick a color and, at a glance, see what the exact compliment will be and so fourth. Yes you can already figure this out in the regular PS color picker, but the wheel is soooooo much easier and faster.
And I would definitely recommend that anyone who is interested in learning how to really use color, or improve their ability to use color effectively, will benefit from using a color wheel. -
Quote:Yes, partly. The idea was basically a combination of that painting and a classic Bettie Page photo where she's getting spanked... she's got this look of absolute horror on her face that cracks me upNice homage Clutch! Is this the one you were referencing?

I bought the Cintiq 21 last year. Took me a long time to work up the nerve to buy one, but now my only regret is that I didn't buy it sooner. To me, the step from regular tablet to Cintiq was as significant as the step from mouse to tablet. If you can't afford to buy one right now, just save your money until you can.
I don't know much about tablet PCs, but I suspect they are pretty underpowered. I am entertaining the idea of buying the new iPad as a digital sketch device, but I wouldn't expect to do serious work on it. -

It was one of those things where I just started brainstorming and sketching as soon as I found out what the theme was, and it pretty much took on a life of its own. I couldn't stop myself from working on it.
I could have waited to post it but... no, I couldn't have. I am not known for my patience.
At least I've got time to fix a couple things, and now that it's done I can get back to finishing that valkyrie picture (the knot work/boobs one) -

I wanted to celebrate Norman Rockwells b-day which is February 3, so I tried to make a pin-up that is reminiscent of the patron saint of illustrators.
Larger version is in my DA gallery.

Finished! Well I put about 17 hours into this one, I think. Might add one more hour for touch-ups tomorrow. I don't know that I can afford to put that kind of effort into this contest for each month
I see that, over the course of the painting, I listened to "Closer" by Nine Inch Nails 69 times, "I Sit on Acid" by Lords of Acid 34 times. That's got to be a record somewhere.
My hand hurts. -
Grats on your first comission, it's a very nice piece
For the record, I've been on Virtue for a month or so, and in that time I've seen no evidence of actual roleplaying that doesn't involve cybering manimals. -

I really like the pin-up theme. It's pretty much outside of my comfort zone ...I always veer away from T&A in my images (which I think pretty much dooms me to obscurity), and a classic pin-up tends to use a bright colors and well-lit figures, and is generally pretty playful...all are things that I also tend to slink away from. So I'm going in to this one with guns blazing... even got a friend to model her face for one of the figures

couldn't help myself
Newbie question: If a contestant fails to submit a piece for a month, are they out of the contest for the rest of the year? -
I think we should get the Chairman from Iron Chef to announce the monthly theme
-
Vector art? Newp, it's raster...painted in PS with the brush tool.
-
Okay there was no way that this piece was going to get finished tonight, but there is enough done to give the gift of boobs

Feel free to take a look through my work - all relevant links are in my sig

/commando-rolls through the closing contest doors like Indiana Jones
Okay it's not pretty but I didn't know I was going to join in the fun until a moment ago
