OK, I am going to run a small lottory for anyone that want a pinup style picture for one of their female characters. Look at the hexy picture or the Ms Majesty pics (both WIP), and that is the style you will be getting. Now my progress has been very very slow lately and I appologise for that. This method is set up to keep things fair, and hopefully spread out the pics some. It may take me weeks to get these done, but I really will try to!!! Really!
Ok the Rules
1. Three pre selected numbers have been given to Rowr already. She will soon post to varify this.
2. Pick a number between 1 and 50, and provide screen shots of the character you want done
3. The person that picks a numbers or is closest to it, but not over it will get the picture. That simple.
4. Please make sure numbers are chosen only once. If a number is picked twice the first person taking the number will get the picture if it is a winning number.
I really want to make the fair, and spread the wealth a little. Plus I realise I can not possibly get through one of these 25+ picture lists sorry.
This thread will be open for 24 hrs. The numbers will be revealed on 9/21. Even if you win please be very patient though. I have been having lots of fun doing these pics so far!!! -
Besides, are they not like 11 year olds in that catalog made up to looke 25? Sorry that's Calvin Klien.

Funny, I though I had gone to the funeral? Duh, what was that funeral?
Welcom back (sorta) Poison. -
*slaps TA* Snap out of it man, is the internet it is not just a giant porn , um well, um yeah it kinda is just a giant porn site. Nevermind.
Seriously, I do not have a clue where to find these thing, like scarf when I attempt to find tastful stuff for a legit purpose, It usually ends up spywaring my comp to death, and labling me as some kinda wierd deviant with the FBI. So I stopped looking. -
Um Graver can I ask something personal? Can I have you non dominant arm? I will leave you with the good one, but there has to be some extra talent there you will not miss.
Great piece, I thik it is my fav of your so far. I love the dark feel, especially love the female longbow reaching out on the front left. Her hand and expression are just amazing. -
I have had luck with several of Christorpher Hart books (he has an entire line), this web page is great for faces www.sierravista.wuhsd.k12.ca.us/basicart/faces.htm, and well as many tutorials online about inking coloring etc (although I do not have those pages at my fingertips sorry).
Other than that practice, I have definately seen improvement since I had to currage to post here to get critisism, imput, and push myself to practice.
As has been stated get the base first!!! I will often completely ignor the chars picture other than basic body type. I spend at least 2/3 of my time getting the basic form/potition right before adding any detail. -
I guess this is the 2nd in the pinup inspired series that started with Hexy. Like hexy I intend to take this through inks/color. I have not finished hex yet, because just have not had the time to sit at my comp for more than a few minutes in a row (although I can draw at work or watching TV with the family so pencils are easier to find time for).
This is a rough pic and I appologise for the kinda blotchy pencils I have been drawing very light and needed to ajust contrast to get it to show well.
Ms Majestic -
Definately debating to a pinup style TAette now.
-
OMG!!! Ta overload!!!!! must run away before I lose my mind.
*too late* -
Glad I could help (if not spell). I have occasional problems with ps not recognising the pressure sesativity of my tablet, and needs rebooting.
That is a very nice start. We told you that the learning curve is a little steep but worth it. -
PLease the last thing I want to do is upset anyone!! Any previous lists I will try and honor, unfortunatly in my last thread I had done several pieces, and the requesters never even posted if they liked or not. WhitePeregrine please pm me wityh your chars again. Your next

My personal hint for seeing cursor without having the pen draw. Take your middle finger and drop it down to the pen tip. Use the side of your finger on the tablet for contact not the pen, if you potition right this should allow you to conforably hover the pen over the surface with no drawing.
-
Just to clarify Rowr does indeed wear clothing. Just not often.
-
OK my frst 3 months of tablet experience.
1. It is very frustrating for the 1st 2 to 3 weeks ajusting to looking at the screen vs your hand, the size differences etc.
2. Except that there is a learning curve and that certian things that you take for granted on paper work differently, or my require new approaches on the tablet.
3. Once you get past those things it is a WONDERFUL TOOL. Blending and coloring in ps using a tablet are great, but you can not forget ps basics. Layers and plenty of them. Learning exactly what each brush does effects hwo the tablet pressure reacts. Sometime pressure will cuase tapering etc, sometimes rate of flow, someime amount of effect. You really need to pay attention at first. BUT once you get that is becomes much easier because changing pens, flow, etc almost becomes a thing of the past.
Stick with the tablet you will grow to love it, just do not throw it first. -
First of all this is really great. The quality of the art and artists on this forum is just becoming amazing!!!

Graver do not sell yourself short, many of the aspiring artists here look up to you and a few others. -
So am I getting a vibe that more people would want chars done in this kinda classic pinup style. My pace right now is only slightly above snail but I may be able to do more like this. This is not an official singup at this time just seeing if there is interest, if I decide to do this there will be an official thread!!! .

Great sketch.
That was real subtle Kat, really, I do not think he go the hint. -
I have an idea for a background now, but I just have to find it. It is very simple and would amplify the theme.
-
Hey is this thread about art, or well, whatever it has become?
BTW all the responces create no pressure. Really -
The imps are amazing!! Overall a very nice piece too. Was afraid to say something critical before, but a few others have mentioned. The face lacks definition to me, and then the lips really pop out which is pulling my eye away from the rest of the face.
-
Why, if you are going to plagiarize do somebody that can draw and did not drug people to get a jug. I say if you are going down do it in style.
-
I would think a leather corset would make them stay in shape, I debated making them flatten out more.
-
I think I see what one commenter sees in the face being slightly off (I think the mouth is slightly off center, and maybe the cheek could come in slightly. Should be no biggie to fix.
The pose was actually "inspired" by the old WW II pinup girls that they used to paint on airplanes etc. I have no idea why that idea came in to my head, but I liked the idea. -
Here is another version of Hex. Sorry, that it took me a little time but here it is. The pose gave me some problems (a very different angle than I have done before) and I changed positioning many times, and I know it is still a little rough.
Hex Girl
I do intend to ink and color this, but give me time. I am also considering what type of background to use. I will take any suggestions.
