  2. This just a short story I wrote, it takes place in Link City, so if you've read my City of Fading Light comic it might help to make it make sense. Hope ya like it!

    The Star’s One Night Stand

They always said I should use my powers in a good way. That’s why I made this cool outfit. Link City would soon come to know me as, The Star. My name is Paul West, I was born here in Link City, Illinois. I was once beat up in high school for my name, they said I should be a movie star. Little did they know what kind of star I would become…
Tonight I ride for the first time; Link City will not have to fear ever again. The Star is on the lookout. What’s that? My first crime, a robbery on 5th street, easy to take care of. I’ll just waltz in, bust some heads, and make things right in the world.
The Star jumps down from the building he is on, luckily it is only a one story, or else his land would have been even less graceful than it was.
“Halt,” he shouts as he runs into the street chasing after the would-be robbers.
“Who are you?” Asks, the first one, with a huge AK47 in his hand.
“I am the Star, and you, are under arrest!”
They don’t even have a chance to fire one shot before he is on them. Kicking and punching, he is like rabid animal. One bullet pierces his Kevlar, but he pays it no mind, pain was supposed to be part of his new found profession. He takes them all out and returns the stolen items to the house. The cops would arrive hours later only to find that the items had been stolen again, but The Star would not know that.
That wasn’t so bad, he says to himself, as he sits on the roof of another one story building, tending to his wound. I wonder if anyone else in this city has ever been shot trying to save some old woman’s furniture. Truth be told, it was a drug pusher’s house they were robbing, but The Star would never learn that either.
Gun fire erupted in his ears as he laid down, thinking he might get a chance to relax. He leaned over the roofs edge only to see a shootout taking place between the Link City Police Department and some thugs on the street.
The Star leaped into the middle of the fight, dodging bullets left and right as he made his way to the thugs. He arranged a quick meeting with them and the Link City penitentiary before leaving the scene.
As The Star walked towards his house, ready to call it a night, he thought he saw a flash of black and yellow running his direction. He turned, only to find the darkness of the night. Thinking nothing of it, the city’s finest new hero, self proclaimed of course, continued to walk.
As he was about to open the door to his “secret hideout”, The Star could have sworn he saw the flash of black and yellow again.
“Whoever you are, you better stop following me, because I am The Star of this town now!”
The arrow was in The Star before he could even blink. Turning, he came face to face with the newly elected mayor of Link City.
“Didn’t you know,” asked The Final Arrow “stars only shine in a city that has light, and tonight, my young friend.” He said, looking up to the sky “Is an eclipse.”
The Star fell to the ground, clutching the arrow in his chest. I wonder, he thought as the city started to grow darker, do all heroes end up like this in the end?
The darkness quickly takes over the street, and the city of fading light continues mercifully on, one less caring citizen, one less vote The Final Arrow has to worry about. Politics on his terms are just the way he likes to run this city.

  4. [ QUOTE ]
My husband and I play but our characters don't have backstories that go together. We do sometimes make characters that compliment each other (defender & scrapper). Plus I always have someone to remind me how to get somewhere or to teleport me to the mission when I'm lost in the Gulch in the Hollows.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes, and now I am forced to take teleport on every character I make or else she gets lost or I get to constantly hear "When are you going to take teleport?!"

It is nice to always have someone to group with and not have to worry about bad groups....well....maybe not have to worry, but at least you know them well.
  5. This is my first attempt at an online comic. Posting it to see if anyone likes it. Any comments or feedback would be appreciated!
