  1. Fire/Sonic would be a great combo. The main problem with Ill/Sonic is that while Sonic has a pretty great AoE resistance debuff, it needs to be anchored on a melee pet, and your melee pets don't last more than a minute. Resetting the toggle after every summon gets pretty annoying pretty fast.

Fire/, on the other hand, has PERMANENT melee pets, so you don't need to constantly reapply the debuff. Fire/Sonic gives you all the great aspects of the Fire/ set, plus mez immunity, damage resistance, bonus damage, and increased accuracy-- all of which apply to both you AND your monkeys.

Based on my separate experience with both sets, I would heartily endorse a Fire/Sonic selfish controller. There's a lot of synergy there. Now, someone go roll the toon and write the guide.
  2. Heya folks!

I just posted a new guide on the Freedom Reborn site:
Captain Spud's Guide to the Selfish Illusion/Sonic Controller
    Lemme know what you think!

  3. Heya. I was tired of trying to dissect set strengths based on individual enhancers, so I added up the enhancement percentages for each set. There were some requests to see the chart, so here it is.

    http://www.captainspud.com/coh/IO_Se...e_Percents.xls

    -Doesn't include set bonuses
-Only has sets which are available at 50
    -Doesn't include travel sets
    -There is no 4th caveat

I hope this helps your decision-making.

Are you sure you have to be the original artist? there are quite a few of us who have plenty of art done...but...well..

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sadly, yes. That's what the Scary Lawyers (like the sound of Death touching me!) tell me.

A bit of confusion here-- does this just mean you need to be the person who drew the picture you're sending in?

Or does it mean the character you're drawing has to be your original creation?

I'm assuming it just means the former, but then I'm really confused about the other people being disappointed/shocked. Um... was anybody planning on submitting someone else's work?

    [ QUOTE ]
I have actually submitted quite a few over the years but always wondered why they weren't chosen. Guess thats the reason!

That's one of the ones that confuses me-- you've been making a regular practice of submitting other people's work? That doesn't make much sense to me, hence why I think I misunderstood the rule.
  5. I wrote a guide to Bots/Traps Masterminds awhile back... it was posted in Lighthouse's request for guides, but wasn't included in this list for some reason.

    The guide is I7 compliant.
  6. You can duo him, actually.

Tank stands 10-20 feet away and taunts. He'll fire Flares over and over at the taunter, which for most tanks and scrappers is a joke.

Second team member, preferably someone with -Regen, kills the AV. It's slow, but he'll go down. My Fire/Rad troller killed him in about 10 minutes this way.
  7. I disagree with most of your choices. New players need to take "bad" powers as a learning excercise. People don't always pay attention when things are going smoothly, but they tend to ask some questions when a certain power is getting them killed or kicked off a team. These questions are the things that teach newbies how the game works, and you telling them not to take certain powers does them a huge disservice.

    Massive thumbs down.

Possible bug: When you place an item it locks the colors and symbol you have when you place it, and doesn't update when you update your settings.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hmm... this may not be so bad. If you want to decorate with multiple symbols, all you have to do is change your logo, place an item, change your logo, place an item, change your logo... I don't see many SGs changing their logos or colours very often, so this only adds flexibility to base decorating.
