It never ceases to amaze me how people demonize extremes to make their point. This example suggests that because one person is pre-occupied making a story arc, that there aren't hundreds of people just idling, looking for something to do. Why does it always come to extremes with these examples? lol

    How about this:

'want to run a (INSERT SF/TF)? Nah, I'm making a Mish.",

"Oh, OK. I'm gonna ask some of the other 38 people standing around the market if they want to run a mish, surely 7 of those 38 is up for something."

    Gross exaggeration ftl.
  2. If I can just throw my two cents in here...not that anyone will hear it over the complaining, but...

I for one am looking forward to the MA. To me, it represents not a farming tool, or an XP generator, but an opportunity to tell stores, and where appropriate, share those stories with others. I enjoy writing stories in my spare time anyway, and nearly every character I have in this game is more than just a collection of AT's, IOs and badges, they are living, breathing representations of an idea, concept or persona given form. I desperately hope I'm not the only one who sees more than just inherent mechanical flaws, but a blank canvas on which to paint ideas for others to enjoy. Okay, maybe not everyone has the passion for telling stories that I do, but still, it has to be worth something that they're allowing players to do this at all. To date, I've never played an MMO that allowed players any meaningful control over how they play (grind the endgame instance, get the uberloot, wait for next big release). I wouldn't begin to suggest that the MA is the end-all, be-all of this game, but I think it's a ballsy step for the devs, and I for one appreciate the offering.

With that, I leave everyone to return to their regularly scheduled critique of a system that hasn't even seen the light of day yet. :P

EDIT- dammit Arckmage, ya beat me to the punch lol. At least I know I'm not the only one now

    # Other: We are (again, as of this writing) two couples who banded together as friends, and didn't want the drama, pomp and circumstance that comes with following others' orders in our chosen medium of entertainment. Our expectations are all but non-existent ingame, all we seek are friendly players who enjoy playing and chatting together. No minors, subject matter is definitely not for them. VG was founded in '07, has seen random activity in the intervening months.
