Prejudice doesn't need to be justified, sometimes people are just afraid of the "different" and let that fear take over their actions...
But if you want some reasons then you could always go with the idea of a million different tiny ones. If the character is originally from Paragon City then capes are all over the place and his hatred could have started early: As a child he was next in line to get Statesman's autograph but the jerk flew off without giving him one. A year or so later Positron literally scared the pee out of him when he burst out of a sewer drain, causing other kids to point and stare. Another time Manticore called him "pal" and he bragged to classmates that they were friends... But Manticore never answered any of his letters... Throw in a instance or two of "real" reasons like someone flying by overhead and ignoring the fact that he was being mugged or someone getting hit by a stray power beam and the hero not seeming to care... And finally he decides that they're a menace.
For turning himself around I would tend to go for that touching after school special moment... A situation where he realizes that in hunting down capes he has caused the same kind of emotional scars to others. Perhaps he sees a little kid getting picked on for claiming he knows the fearless super hunter or something... -

There's Gibs in the middle, all ready to go kung-fu on some baddie and spike 'em. Not sure which one she's aiming for though. I love it though! It's actually my background for my laptop at the moment. I'm just glad that she got to share space with some well known CoX art characters.

Actually she is shown way too large in the battle scene but *shrug* She's supposed to be about 3 feet tall, maybe 3 and a half... but I'm going with the idea that she's just so in the foreground that she looks bigger than she is
And yes, I loved the whole concept of getting a bunch of people's OC's all into one huge fight scene like this. -
First up is my latest from Clap-san. I absolutely LOVE his pencil sketches and since I had a new member of the "team" I definitely had to get a new sketch to keep the "set" complete....
Next up is several pieces from PlayWorkArt. He did a "The Royally Big Fastball Versus Project" in which he took 12 commissions and did them all up in one huge battle scene. A great concept I couldn't help but jump on!

Grim is as grim does... And sorry but I can't help but assosciate losing ones body to a certain grimness. Losing it but retaining, or even because of ones humanity makes it even sadder. But that's not a bad thing per se... And the fact that just through a couple pieces of artwork you got people even caring a whit about the character is a sign of what great art you are doing!
And, as usual, I absolutely love this latest piece! Professor Creepy is an awesome addition!

These are arts they got other people to do for them, not their own original works. I may be wrong but I don't think they're looking to pay for other people to get commissions

They're all great arts... But really, if you want people to notice the backgrounds you may want to consider different main subjects!
What I want to know is the story about the two of them fighting together!?! Did someone slip her some of the red katnip?? -
Vec - NICE! You definitely don't see enough headless superheroes who are tastey to eat after rescuing people from a fire!
I keep forgetting to sit down and do something for this month... Ah well, still a lot of month to go, I guess....

Personally it's not my favorite but it's still a very cool piece.. Ah well, tastes vary I'm totally loving the concept of the piece though - Can't quite place why the execution just falls a tad short for me. *shrug*
