  1. George smiled, though it didn’t show in his eyes. It was a gesture only, one that he followed with one from his hand. The empathic assault stopped, with a shrug and an uncle like wink George said

    “It was worth a try”

    He addressed the little girls.

Have someone tell the President we are on our way”

With an extravagant bow and a sweep of one hand he gestured towards the city.

    “Please follow me, m’lady”

“I really hate that guy” Jack griped.
  2. “Oh are you sure you won’t just hand him over?” George asked, with a small hang gesture.

The three little girls stared at Sue...

Empathic feelings washed over the area, handing Jack over, that would be a good idea, a great idea, the best idea ever, it’d make Sue happy.
  3. The arriving guards were unusual, unless you knew what to expect three little girls and three little boys, they looked to be close relations, siblings or possibly cousins, immaculately dressed in white. Accompanying them was a slightly out of shape man, he looked almost afraid as he approached.

“George Porgie, a miserable little *******” Jack hissed

Some people approached, civilians and air port workers, but their eyes suddenly dulled and they went back to their jobs. As the guards came closer, beasts formed made from water, moving to surround Sue and Jack, George approached wearily... then smiled as he spotted the handcuff’s, his thoughts betraying disbelief and almost obscene joy.
    He bowed extravengtly to Sue.

“My dear lady you’ve managed to catch this terrible terrorist?” he asked voice almost dripping with oil and honey.
  4. Jack made sure not to look at Sue until after he’d managed to get his eyes un-widened and nervous twitch under control. Turning with a suaveness that he didn’t feel, he made light of the situation.

“Got all that power, and yet you’ve still got so much crime.” he said sarcastically.

Looking over towards the block, and the large open gates, he held out his hands wrists together.

“Well I sure hope you’re convincing darling, because they know I’m here”
  5. Jack Wolf closed his eyes as he asked...

    “Any place in particular sugar?”

He focused his thoughts on Oceana, both on the image of the island with block building surrounded by the ocean, and also of where it lay on the world map.
The images of inside the building however were much less clear, they were second hand, given to him by a scared little girl in the sewers one day.

There we go. Looks like a chunk of the wall's made up of loose bricks here. I'm going to try pushing them out. With any luck, the water'll drain out faster and I can set foot down there and take a closer look.
    *beep!*[/I]

((At this point, Masha used her augmented vocal chords to 'scream' the bricks out. >.>))

The trick area of wall toppled over, the water now free to run its course, drained through the hole in the wall with a wet, gurgle-y rush, after maybe a minute, possibly two, the room had drained, the floor merely splashy and wet, rather than a literal pool of water.

Beyond the broken wall is a long downwards slopping tunnel, a light is spaced every few meters, it slowly curves to the left.

Jack Wolf stood up, pressed one finger to the side of his nose and blew, then he repeated the action with his other nostril. Crack his knuckles he walked to the door, opening to great the orange clad heroine with a surly.

“I sure hope you’ve got a quick method of getting us there, they’ll know I’m coming thirty miles off, then you know dozens of little hydro-kinetics, big cold ocean, I’m sure you can work the rest out luv”

Jack was deliberately leering in his once over of the white haired wonder’s body, after all since she already disliked him, he might as well get away with as much as he could.

    Adios.

  10. An Appartment Paragon City

Jack Wolf sighed and rubbed his eyes, idly he wondered why all the problems in his life could be linked to psychics. He poured a glass of whiskey, holding it up in front of his face, looking at the light reflected though the amber liquid, ice cubes formed above the glass and dropped in.

    Plink... Plink

He glanced out of the window, they were there, stealth-ed of course but well the human body was full of water, and he had a way with it. Little copies of the white haired woman, with her garish orange clothes. She’d set them to watch him, in case he’d try to run, or double cross her.

    Her face had been resolute

    “No one dies” she’d said.
A sip of whisky that made his throat burn, and smirk covered his face.

And what if he did run, what could she do. She knew what he’d done, left one of those blighted little monsters to die in the sewers, but she couldn’t prove it. No costume to tie him to the events, no actual evidence, just the memories of one little girl, a little girl who hadn’t seen his face.

He rose to his feet, gave a little salute with his glass to the hidden observers before downing it, Leaving the room, he took a shower, feeling the much too hot water loosen his
    body.

If she pulls it off though, I want to be there, Jill can’t wake up surrounded by strangers, she needs me there for her.

The water formed a ball, rushing over his body and scouring him clean, drying was a simple matter, the water simply slid off of his body.

“Well hun, it looks like I’ll have to trust you...” he said to the air in general.

Of course if she turns out like Pamela, all those dolls of hers won’t save her. She might be the perfect bargaining tool, if not she’ll distract them just long enough...

His thoughts turned darker still, he dressed simply, no costume, no armour not for this plan, dressed he sat down and waited, soon they’d head to Oceana, one way or the other it’d all be settled.

The devs have specifically implemented changes so that solo players can solo easier. This flies in the face of your claim that player interaction is 'required'.

Intent has nothing to do with it. By staying in the zone past the countdown, you agree to be a target, whether you intend to PVP or not.
Technically you can't solo an AV/GM without player interaction, unless you've been so fantastically lucky that during your solo career you've managed to get the right sets, to create a GM killer build.

By logging into the game, you agree to interact with other players, whether you intend to or not. However you can, limit this interaction, some one spamming you team invites or tells can be ignored, you can set your self to hide, decline invites and so on.

So why are there no methods of doing the same for the PVE content in PVP zones?

Now imagine if the devs hadn't put an auto-decline option into the game, you want to log in and run a few missions solo. I invite you to team, you send a tell requesting I stop doing so, I instead repeatedly invite you. Now you could at this point do something else, a different game or different character, but your initial goals remain unfulfilled. You could wait until I've logged out, and then play, but why should you?

I guess ultimately the issue raises two questions, is it okay to be a jackass, just because the rules allow you to?

    and

Where are the PVE only versions of the PVP zones?

There's a significant difference between the game's teaming incentive and the game's PVP requirements. You can get to 50 without ever being on a team. In fact, several of my friends have done that, some of them multiple times.

However, you cannot go into a PVP zone without being flagged for PVP, and thus you are agreeing to PVP in that zone.
However by CoH's nature as an MMORPG, it requires interaction between players to accomplish goals, so by soloing you're not playing the game right.

Seemingly like those who head into a PVP zone without the intent of engaging in player versus player combat.

While the game may not force you into a team, I can send you a team invite, causing a disruptive pop up. I can keep doing this, even if you request me to stop.

Of course we then get into issues such as ignore, /hide and the red flag status, but technically me requesting you team with me, when ever you log on, nay insisting you team is no more griefing than continuing to PVP with some one after they request you to stop.

(NOTE: Once again, this is coming from a die-hard PVE-er. I pretty much hate PVP. But I understand that PVP zones are for PVP first, no matter how much PVE content may be in the zone.)
This game is designed around teaming, does that mean you must team with people when they ask you?

I mean if you don't want to team, you can just go play single player game.

I really don't understand some of you. It's like your brains just can't seem to grasp simple concepts.

    PvP means.... Player vs. Player

A PvP zone is where players can/will/are gonna' attack other... players (OMG NO!)

The Devs coded this game to function in a particular way. Aside from exploits, players who play the game that the Devs coded to function in a particular way are not doing anything "wrong". They are merely playing the game that the Devs coded to function in a particular way as intended. It is not the players fault or problem for playing the game as intended as per dev coding that makes this game function in a particulay way, it is the fault and problem of those of you who don't understand that the game was coded by the Devs to function in a particular way.

If you can't understand how or why you are allowed to do or not do certain things in this game, please always keep in mind that the Devs only allow us to play the game that they coded to function a particular way.

If for any reason any of you are in doubt of what I'm saying and still feel that players are actually "in the wrong" for playing the game that the Devs coded to function in a particular way, then I suggest you PM one of the Devs and ask them if it is in fact wrong/mean/nasty/cheating/bad/evil/disrecpectful/dishonorable for players to play the game within the confines of the coding that the Devs coded which allow us to play the game in a particular way.

Surely player versus player, means that both players are engaged in the PVP aspect.

Else it'd be player versus afker or player versus not intrested player, or indeed player versus not playing player.

Honestly given the balls'd up state of PVP there should be no PVE content in the zones, there certainly shouldn't be mobs in the zone, since they don't have PVP rules on them.

However then it became, you need to register your real life details.

Which was bad, given how many secret organizations have infiltrated the government in Marvel, not counting the aliens that do so too.

Then it became, you have to register if you have super powers.

At this point it became illegal by Marvels own cannon. They did this with mutants, the law was thrown out because it was un-constitutional.

Then it became, if you have powers, the government owns you.
  19. The Marvel Civil war thing was a bunch of BS.

The Stanford incident? The only big players on the enemy team, required power suits, they attacked before said villains could suit up. The guy who exploded, he'd never shown that much power before, hell he's only infamous for accidentally giving a super hero cancer.

In turn, the government passes a law, a law that they'd already passed during the 'everyone hates mutants' days, passed and had thrown out for being unconstitutional.

Never mind putting a known drug addled madman in a position of power.

WoW and LoTRO are great at seamless exploration (they still have a couple loading screens here and there, but it's rare) -- I would love to see that here...
WoW and LoTRO, don't have super fast travel powers like CoH, so they can load things just outside of your visual range as you travel, compare it to CoH's travel mechanics, where theoretically, you could super jump your way from Ogrimmar to Thunder Bluff in a minute.
  24. President of Oceana claims wanted terrorist is in Paragon City.

This morning the president of the island nation of Oceana, released an impassioned plea to the government of the United States, she claimed that a long term enemy of Oceana and the reason for the island nations arrival on Earth is at large in Paragon City, she claims that the collapse of Steel Canyon Meta-Youth Detention Centre was due to a powerful meta-human by the name of Jack Wolf, she claims that the individual has powerful matter conversion powers.

Information regarding the alleged terrorist has been provided to law enforcement agencies...
  25. A memory shared by Jill with Sue, Theo, Bubble Wrap and Dire....

An old woman with a wrinkly apple like face sits on a rocking chair in front of a bunch of children, the children all look similar, siblings rather than clones. She rocks back and forth a few times before opening the book on her lap.

“Once upon a time...” she began, prompting the children into silence.
They stared up at her all wide eyed.

“There was a big bad wolf, now this wolf was different from other wolves, because he looked like a man, and he could walk and talk like a man.” Some of the younger children gasped.

“But he was greedy and proud like a wolf, and anything he wanted he took, and the good people of the world couldn’t stop him. But boys and girls, everything has a time, and the big bad wolf’s started to run out...” the children listened intently.

“The big bad wolf, got sick, very sick, and he couldn’t find a way to get better, so he looked around at the world, and hated it. He hated how everyone else would go on living without him, how the years would pass and eventually no one would remember him...” some of the younger children looked scared.

“So he huffed and he puffed, and gathered up all his power, and as he lay down to die, he howled at the world and blew everyone down. When they got up they were different, he’d made them sad, so very sad that some would just sit down and stop moving.” The youngest of the children looked shocked; they hadn’t heard the story before.

“But the big bad wolf had two children, and they weren’t affected by his power. So it was decided, that they would have to fix the mistake their farther made... and that’s how you all came to be, my little ones.” She smiled kindly at the assembled children.
