    "I don't see anyone."

In fact, that really is just cutting your nose off to spite your face, because it leaves you with the problem of not seeing Tomb while other people can.

Can we just calm down a bit and sort this out without resorting to petty things like 'Im retconning you!' 'No, you!' and suchnot? Seriously?
You see I considered that over the Ellie and Nemesis thing, and then decided it was pretty bleeding stupid to do.

I'm going to go spouting falacy like 'Your a bad RPer' or suchnot, because not only is it insulting but it's untrue. But please accept that this has just gone over the line that people are both comfortable with and willing to accept on a larger, game-world scale.

You know had it been phrased like that, and not as demands from people who when I raised the idea of shared continuity and not agreeing with what they were doing with it, I was told not so politely to shove it, I'd of been a lot more amenable.

I've also been told to leave it in effect by others involved so...

And, frankly, the players count as much as anyone. Without the people playing through the plot, you effectively don;'have a plot. Egg, chicken...y'know.
I know that Tech, but I don't want to piss on Bathorys or Games bonfire.

Besides aside from you and Randy, none of the other posters have said anything 'yet'.
  4. As I said I'm willing to change what happened after input from Pious, Game and Bathory. Still waiting on two of them.

To be fair everyone's attitudes in this thread have started to deteriorate.

Though now it's seeming like I'm going to end up getting even more annoyed, if peoples view is "Your RP should have no impact on my RP, even if I can join in and influence it in the form of an open RP thread, yet I've chosen to ignore that opportunity.".

For example, no heroes in the thread bothered to search the school for survivors (which kinda shocked me) instead focusing on the big robot, which would of reduced the casualties.

I really hope you write angry letters to the producers of films.

    Because its fiction.

There are a lot worse things in real life to get worked up about.

And how does that work exactly, by whose standards? I in real life hate crime, corruption and quite a few other things. So do I go by my standards, which would even punish for Power Ranger* style crimes, some one more tolerant? A character? Whose character?

*"Oh no a giant monster is attacking!"
"Luckily it headed straight for the abandoned warehouse and dock district!"

(Technically, yes, the Etoile Isles are UN recognised. How that works I have no idea XD)
    Technically he didn't 'take' over.

So he's still a legit head of state, if they knew the whole previous president killed so Recluse could take over it'd be a different matter.... but it's still accounted to an unknown assassin right? <Oroborous music plays>
  13. Personally I say wait and see what Game, Pious and Bathory want to do with the situation.

    Edit to add:

I'll also try and keep my bitter amusement about how it's a shared continuity only when I'm the one getting told off for messing with it, when it's some one else I'm told to use the 'ignore it' option to a minimum.

Considering the reaction such an event as this would kick off, I ask you. Are you prepared for the permanent death of any of your characters involved in this? Because you can rest assured, you WOULD be facing the combined might of virtually every single hero and armed forces in the US.

Don't believe me? Look at the real world reaction to 9/11.

I've always been perfectly willing to have my characters injured, maimed, killed, exiled and so on.

    Always.

Heck I didn't expect Tomb to be able to threaten the Countess and live so long.

It was actually done by Marvel once I believe, can't remember his name but the Fantastic Four have a villain who is a Russian/Communist scientist whose special power is... he can control monkeys.

Usually attacks them with his squad of super powered monkeys, think his baboon is psychic and he has a tanker one as well.
  16. The problem is, we are playing a game of Super Heroes and Super Villains, a setting in which some one could quite conceivably steal the moon, or turn all the buildings in the city into monkeys that they control.

If you're saying people aren't allowed to do that, well you take the Super away from the Super Villain, reducing them to the level of costumed bank robbers, actually lower than that because Weather Wizards, weather control would be too much since it'd be affecting the climate.

As for why your character doesn't react IC when OOC you don't want to?

Well that's mainly your problem, though you could always ask why Su8perman's not in every DC comic, and go with that.
  17. I went for 1000 because it's a nice round number, it's actually 150 maybe 170 higher than an actual attack on a school in a city like Paragon would produce.

Assuming of course that people see Paragon as a New York sort of city.
  18. I got permission for the plot from Pious and Bathory before hand, saying it would be a pretty massive game changer.

Its not supposed to be something that can just be brushed under the carpet either, its an attempt to instigate a war.
  19. I did say aside from your Bio.

But stuff like Name: Captain Fantastic, Security Level: 50, Classification : Tanker.

Would probably be easily accessible knowledge, if only to prevent conmen pretending to be super heroes.

"He said that some Tsoo were hiding in my house, and then he stole my TV!"
  20. The problem is we are RPing in a comic based environment, and such high causality events are common and frankly ignored by heroes some times.

    Case in point Marvel.

Massive interstellar war, entire planets and species being wiped out, galactic level threats battling each other. Heroes of earth informed?

They don't care they are too busy with their Civil War plot line.

That's without even getting started on the X-men, or Gotham city.
  21. Causality figures changed to better represent a 'big city' school and surrounding area.
  22. That said Tech, the Arch Types could just as easily be F.B.S.A classifications for types of heroes.

    Soaks damage for Teammates? Tanker

Gets stronger the more they fight? Brute

    And so on.

I'd say what's on your hero/threat card would be in databases, I mean assuming you've had a hero/villain career there'd be some sort of info on how you'd fight, and they'd classify you on that.

Edit to add: Aside from your bio that is.

  25. ((The events from the Open Season, Saint John plot line occur today.))

News report that starts playing shortly after noon.

    Tragedy strikes Paragon City.

Tragedy struck earlier today as a rampaging robot attacked a school in outer Paragon City, leaving close to one thousand dead and many injured. The robot was shortly destroyed by heroes who responded to the attack, the cause of which is still unknown, but suspected to be super naturally motivated.

Police suspect the attack is linked to an earlier spate of kidnappings that occurred during the morning.
