Burning was sniffling as he tugged on Essex's leg and pointed at the mud on him.
-
"We shouldn't..." Grime grunted. "Anger... Archlich, he's... sc-..."
The moment he was about to call another Lich 'scary' is when he broke free of it. Grime had nothing to fear from him.
"We can break through," said the Lich, not noticing his speech returned to normal, "but we will need them." He gestured to Muck and Guck, who were still drooling at the thought of some cookies. -
"Cookies..." muttered Muck and Guck absentmindedly.
"Not now!" shouted Blightlord, louder than he had intended. He turned to the door. It should be simple to break in. He wondered if there were anti-teleportation spells inside it, and if Grime could still cast them in his... weakened state.
He crossed his arms, the thought of cookies didn't interest him at all, even in the body of a child.
Grime was examing the door, and cautiously placed a hand on it, searching for any wards. -
Grime shook his head, seeing Experiment rush inside and hearing someone come up the stairs. "One of the childwen are coming."
"We awen't here to kiw them awl. They awen't worth the time. We will humiwiate the Bwawler child and weave," said Blightlord. "Set a twap for the imbwecile so we may continue our search." -
Burning stalked forward towards them, more little fireballs forming.
They got him wet! They got his superhero costume all icky! Did they know how long the pajamas would itch after he dried them?
Blightlord looked out a window as he approached Archlich's room. He motioned to Grime who quickly began casting a spell.
Burning reared back, ready to hurl the fireballs, when a tentacle of shadows grabbed his leg and tripped him.
He fell face-first into the dirt, and bit his cheek.
He tasted the blood, and it made him wince, holding back a sniffle.
He looked down at his superhero costume, and saw it was covered in mud.
His lip quivered for a moment before he ran back inside.
Blightlord chuckled to himself, as best as a four-year-old could. Grime was supposed to lock the child in place, making him a prime water balloon target, but this was much better. Now the children would see him as something pathetic.
That would work quite nicely. -
Burning happily continued his jump-hovering, and he began to go longer! A whole couple seconds!
Until he came into the crossfire.
A balloon slammed into his head, knocking him back to the ground.
The boy's lip quivered for a moment, then his eyes flared, turning from a glow to flames.
He turned to the boy's fort, and a small fireball formed in each palm.
He threw both at Reikoff and Toy's skyscrapers.
Blightlord was searching the upstairs...
"There must be something..." He sensed magics not far, and followed the trace, heading towards Archlich's room. -
((Sorry all, had to go right from mandatory Marching Band to pick up my grandma from the airport to dinner. I'm wiped. I'll try to catch up tomorrow.))
Burning nodded happily at Hal, but then looked back at Blightlord. "He's scawy..."
He was distracted, and didn't hear everyone give their names. When everyone began heading outside, he gleefully leapt and hovered his way to the door.
Blightlord scowled at the leaving Burning.
"I missed the caw..." said Blightlord. "I twied to take over an adult, and took this chiwld..." He shook his head. "I wiw take my wevenge on the flaming chiwld and then weave this pwace..."
He set off to explore. -
"Do you know oo I am?" said Blightlord. "And that was not a chemistwy set. Where's the acids, the-"
Burning chucked a small rock sized fireball at Blightlord, toppling him over.
Grime stifled a laugh as the boy frantically sat up, pulling the jagged cape from his face.
"Hey!" -
Muck and Guck glared at Essex's back before turning to Burning.
The boy clung to his 'cape' like a blanket as he stared down at them with angry eyes.
The twins stuck out their tongues and ran to Blightlord who was throwing more and more vials of colored water behind him in disgust.
"How on earth wiw I kiw him wiffout cywanide!" -
The twins ignored her, still beating Burning with the toys.
Brawler's lip quivered as he ran over to Essex, and leapt up, flying to cling onto her neck.
The two tried to climb her legs to get at Burning, who was flailing his own wildly to keep them away.
Grime's cloud finally caught up to them, and made it difficult to see.
Blightlord was furiously tossing vial after vial behind him.
"Awl of the chemicawls in this set are cowored water!" he said, storming up to Essex angrily. "Where is the cywanide?" -
Blightlord and his fun-sized undead stormed through the front door.
They spotted Burning following Essex. Blightlord pointed at him, saying, "Kiw him."
Muck and Guck took out a plastic sword and what looked like a frisbee with duct tape on the back and charged, yelling loud enough for the whole daycare to hear.
They quickly caught Burning and started whacking him with the plastic swords.
Grime mumbled a spell. He eagerly waited to see the dark magic fire, but his shoulders slumped as he saw the small black cloud that slowly drifted. -
((Oh this'll be great!))
A little boy happily rode past the daycare center, riding a tricycle and humming a happy, if off key, tune.
From the sewer grate ahead a small green puddle appeared.
The boy made a gag face as he swerved to avoid it, but the ooze followed him!
He pedaled faster, huffing and puffing, until a small cry ran out as it caught up to him, and covered him in a single leap.
There were a few popping sounds and snaps until the boy stood, wearing black armor with a red belt, gloves, and boots, covered in skulls and bones, along with a red helmet with a fearsome face etched into it.
Two small boys appeared behind him from a pool of shadows, their skin gray.
They had wide grins and brandished plastic swords wildly, a second sword and shield on their backs.
A third, slightly taller boy came next, in a long robe. He fidgeted with the belt on him and his hood, before following Blightlord as he walked away.
"My word, I think something 'appened," said the small Lich, Grime.
"I shaw find the cause," said the boy as he walked away.
Another boy was coming the other way, wearing a green hood that only showed glowing, red eyes and footy pajamas with little black flames coming up the arms, legs, and a small fireball on the chest.
He had a green towl stitched onto it, and stopped when he saw the four.
He pointed at Blightlord and laughed. "You look funny." The air shimmered and lines seemed to draw into his finger as he accidentally took the heat from around him.
Blightlord was encased in a block of ice.
Muck and Guck fell over laughing as Grime sighed and began trying to thaw him out.
Burning laughed again, gleefully running to the daycare, a small note pinned to the back of his hood.
The ice quickly melted and Blightlord shook his head looking back towards where Burning had ran. "What we do now, my word?" asked the Lich.
"Fowow him..."
He ran into the daycare, and saw Essex. He ran up, momentarily lifting off the ground as he did, and tugged on her leg.
When Essex took the note, she would see it read, 'I suggest you fireproof everything.' -
((Let's try a mix))
Ruby ran the Shinji clone through, cutting bone like butter.
He continued his charge, throwing a spray of powder at Asuka that was sure to disorient, before leaping up to swipe down onto her head.
((Fine... didn't want to give this piece away but...))
Nictus Brawler was not weakened by a merging with a pathetic human. His form was of pure Nicti energy, and the frost soon found no hold.
He quickly moved to slug Shiomi, and then spin for a backhand, while at the same time drawing in the strength of those around him. -
Ruby chuckled at Asuka, and drew several more shurikens. He took careful aim, and threw all of them at once.
They all missed.
Or so it seemed, instead, a wide net appeared over her, and Ruby was already charging at superspeed to cut her down.
Nictus growled at the sight of the Quantum gun. He reached out a hand to it, and closed his fist, teleporting it from Shiomi's grasp.
He threw it far and teleported behind the woman, delivering a quick double handed strike to her head. -
Nictus teleported away from Shinji's attack, sending it instead streaking for Asuka.
As Shinji moved to grab Blade, he suddenly found himself holding only empty air, Nictus having taken the assassin with him.
A sudden flurry of exploding shurikens came rushing at the pair, followed by a wide burst of Nicti energy from somewhere in the darkness. -
Ruby grinned at the contact of the blades, and soon a quick burst of nether energy wrapped around Asuka, trying to ensare her.
Nictus moved to grapple her from behind, and knee her in the back. -
Nictus bent back, grappling Asuka's arms and viciously slamming her to the rafters.
Ruby heard the sound and in an instant was there, bringing the sword, crackling with dark magic, down onto her. -
Nictus growled and closed his eyes. He morphed into a crab-like creature, and began to see the world differently.
He searched for Asuka's energy signature, and quickly teleported to it, bringing both hands down on her head.
Ruby reached into a pouch on his belt. The mask had a small filter behind it, but his eyes were unprotected.
He sped quickly to a back corner, and slid the lenses into his eyes. He blinked for a moment before grasping the sword and moving confidently, hidden in the shadows and eyes open for Asuka. -
Nictus came swooping down, shooting blasts of energy in a squid-like form.
Ruby gripped the large sword tightly as he faded into the shadows, and sped towards them, suddenly coming back into view as he did a quick cross-slash. -
Void faded into the shadows. He quickly darted between the booths of the vault, it being set up like a museum, displaying the artifacts just waiting to be stolen.
The guards were wandering now, guns ready. He looked at the section of old books, and at the fire alarm. He grinned, and tossed a shard of broken glass.
The guards followed the sound, and Void quickly pulled the alarm, sealing them in with a reinforced door.
"Someone'll get them eventually," he told himself as he made his way to the back.
He typed in the code again. Access denied.
"Great..." It required a six-letter password... but what is it?
No... no way it's that easy.
A-Z-U-R-I-A.
Access granted.
No wonder everyone and their grandmother could break in here.
He looked around. There was the real set of Ghost Widow's bones, not the fakes in Atlas, and a real sample of the Well of the Furies water.
He continued walking through the long hall until he saw weapons more frequently.
He read some of the descriptions as he walked, and shivered at the effects of a few.
Finally he found the sword he was looking for. The Bane of Zeus.
He was about to reach out, but held back on instinct.
A dark tendril snaked towards the case, and was electrocuted.
"Damn... Okay..." He ran back down the hall, and returned with a small idol.
He pointed at the sword, and a small blue beam shot out, knocking it off its pedastal.
Void grabbed it, grinning, as an alarm sounded, and several heroes charged inside the vault.
"This wasn't as easy as the Hellions said.
Suddenly, there was a flash of purple light, and he was gone.
---------------
Void Brawler reappeared with the others, and didn't even have time to speak before Blade snatched the sword from his graps, and placed the jewel in its pommel.
The red between the three black lines glowed as it was imbued with power, and the assassin grinned.
"Send the boy away," he told Nictus.
The Kheldian nodded, and Void once more disappeared. Elitist did not want him dead... yet.
"I must thank you for aiding me. Now, you get your payment."
He charged Shinji, moving incredibly fast, aiming to slice him in half as he ran. -
Void Brawler cursed and faded into the shadows as the alarms blared.
He hurriedly ran through the long vault hall when he heard the thundering a footsteps.
Guards.
He shook his head and ran faster.
Void began to feel a tingle as the hairs on the back of his neck rose. He quickly spun to the side, avoiding a gunshot, before leaping up to grab a railing, and fading into the shadows.
He heard the sound of Ruby's voice in his ear as the guards carefully searched for him.
"Fool boy! You're noticed already? Hurry up!"
Void grimaced, biting back several comments as he waited for the guards to look the other way.
He carefully flew high against the roof, slow enough to not make a sound.
He saw the first goal, the gem. Why Blade decided he wanted it so late Void had no idea.
He watched as the guards spread out, and carefully dropped down behind the one closest to the gem.
Void quickly struck, taking the man down in a single hit, before turning on the gem. He knew there was infrared on it, but they already knew he was here.
He quickly broke the glass, and grabbed the gem.
He suddenly had to duck as shots peppered the wall, right where his head had been. -
