And, after further thought, even if they are both desperately, mutually in love with each other... so WHAT?.. I don't think "ghost-nookie" is an option.

And lastly...

Quote:This, and...to be fair Michelle it doesn't specifiy what type of love (romantic or that of a friend) so I wouldn't say it's an utter showstopper.
For what it's worth I'd love to see the story continue.
Quote:And yeah... Numina/Positron? Where did that come from? Honestly - ignore it. She's a longstanding colleague and friend. Leave it at that and go on with the story.
Edit: And this is quite apart from the fact that, if he was GOING to fall for someone in the game, it would HAVE to be (from a development viewpoint) someone IN the canon. They didn't exactly have rights to YOUR character. -
Okay... in lieu of having to go out of our way to run the SF, what's the deal, in a nut-shell?
Edit: Although I can already tell you my response, regardless of the answer to the above: It's your story. People will enjoy it anyway, regardless of the canon, or lack thereof, behind it. The only thing this might prevent is possible publication... and they already TOLD you that was never going to happen. -
My main (necro/dark mm) could solo GMs before ever gaining any Incarnate abilities. I know may folks WITH Incarnate abilities that still can't say this. Honestly, it was never about proving anything to anyone but myself... and frankly, the first time was almost an accident - I was testing my latest build on Eochai, and realized I was WINNING.

Quote:Actually, there was nothing stealthy about that change; knew about it well in advance. It was implemented (along with the frequently-broken pet zoning) to make MMs more compatible with non-MM teams: less time spent summoning and upgrading pets inside missions. This was a stealth nerf masquerading as a QOL upgade.
I'd love to go back to the days that I had to equip each pet individually. That way If I only lose one pet, I only spend the END to equip that pet and not ALL of them.
As for the upgrade END cost, yes, I find it extreme when the utility of needing to upgrade ALL my pets at once is limited.
However, here's a little tip about a bit of hidden synergy between pet zoning and upgrading. If, at any given point when you are about to zone (entering/leaving missions, changing zones by whatever means), some of your pets ARE upgraded, and some are NOT... don't bother upgrading. When they zone, they will ALL be upgraded. Have watched this behavior very carefully, and it has worked EVERY time for me. This also means that, prior to zoning, if I still have at least ONE fully upgraded pet, and others are deceased, I resummon without upgrading, immediately prior to zoning.
Granted, it doesn't help DURING a combat or mission, but it's something. -

Quote:This is correct, and is how I got MoBAF - pretty much one badge per run.AFAIK, you don't have to qualify for all the badges in the same run.
Quote:If everyone forgoes qualification for the badge for NOT clicking the glowies that are shutting them down, GKES becomes more doable. You still need timing though. It'd REALLY suck to get one of the AVs rezzing at full HP because you didn't keep the HP beating coordinated. -
Well, as a) and avid Mastermind player who'd never condone a petless MM, and b) an almost equally avid Dominator player who actually has a level 44 plant/thorn with the pet, I'll say this:
Dumber. Than. Zombies.
Don't get me wrong, I like the chittering little monstrosity, but I'd like to rename it "Wandering Aggroweed... on Crack". Most Dom pets I've experience with (singularity, imps) seem to have an aggression level roughly similar to a MM's "defensive" stance; they'll readily attack things near you, but tend to wander back to your side if they stray too far.
Not this thing. It should have been called "Venus Fly (and Everything Else) HUNTER". Or maybe "Fat Guy at Buffet". I've watched it "chain aggro", hopping from mob to mob, til it hit its "respawn radius", teleported back to me... and promptly scuttled back off to continue maiming the last thing that annoyed it and seemed tasty. Which, incidentally, is now running toward ME, along with everything ELSE it ticked off along the way.
Than heavens for Seeds of Confusion... All of a sudden, that incoming, un-scripted ambush isn't so scary, anymore.
So... yeah, you can skip the pet. It's nice to have, and I like it... but I'm USED to having pets around that sometimes behave... unpredictably. At least this little beastie (like several Dom pets) throws out additional crowd control I can add to. If it just spewed damage, I'd have still taken it... but it'd spend a LOT more time parked in the seed bag. -
At the opposite end of the spectrum, really enjoying both trials. 5/5 on the BAF (Mo on #4) and 1/1 on the Lambda, the latter being a bit shaky for the newb (me) since the explanation of the stages was a bit sparse. Got through it the same way I generally do with new and unfamiliar stuff: I followed the team leaders like a lost puppy... with zombies.

Honestly, the easiest solution to what seems to be the crux of his issue is to get to know more people. Some people around here wear "Introvert" like a badge of honor, but even the worst introverts I know IRL are fine with people they've had the courage to spend time with and get to know. It just takes effort.
Granted, to some, "effort" is a "dirty word", particularly those that wallow in their isolation because it's "safe". In that kind of situation, there's really nothing to be done.
On the flipside of this, regarding all the "It's an MMO, get used to it" people. I used to think the same way. Then I had an epiphany. Yes, it stands for Massive Multiplayer Online. This doesn't mean teaming should be the solution to every challenge, or the only means to reach high-level goals. All it means is that you have the ability to interact with other characters played by real people. The "It's an MMO" rationale is trite and meaningless. Get over yourselves and stop using it. -

Quote:The goto command is not a fix-all for this kind of thing. If you think that, you need to take a melee MM (ninja or necromancy) through the new Sutter TF.Definitely. Some have spent so long playing an easy game that they forgot how (or never knew how) to actually use goto commands, re-summon, and in general, play as Masterminds.
What I REALLY wish they'd do is a) give the annoying "death patches" a fear effect (the target markers, not just the damage), and b) fix the pet fear response so that they don't needlessly run 100 yards to escape a 5-10 foot effect.
Still wouldn't "fix everything", nor should it. The reason I play Masterminds is because I enjoy the tactical thinking involved. Unfortunately, no amount of tactical thought can override bad pet AI. As a result, the new TFs' and Trials' reliance on cheap, "unavoidable" death mechanics tend to marginalize what the AT can reasonably contribute to this kind of thing. -
Quote:Oh, we figured that out easily enough. Had enough experience with that annoying type of "attack" from the Apex. But between the AV-level damage and the endless reinforcements both of them seem to call in... *shrugs* it quickly became a waste of time. Quite apart from the idiotic bug of getting hit by the "air strikes" while still underground. We ignored the Primal Duray and focused on the Praetorian one first. For us the key was as soon as an air strike is called; Move!
It isn't a straight up beatdown. If you are standing on one of the blinking arrows, you are going to get hit by the air strike. Once we figured this out, it was a cakewalk.
Could have been worse, I suppose. I could have been playing my favorite AT: Mastermind. And once again feeling like someone at Paragon hates them so much that they go out of their way to flatline the AT's ability to contribute to something like this. Would feel a LOT less annoyed by such "attacks" if a) they'd give the "target patches" a fear effect (not just the resulting damage) and b) fix the pet fear response that makes them run 100 yards or so to "escape" a 10 foot effect. -
How the heck did you beat the 2 Durays? We had to quit after the endless "Rain of Cheap-shots"... which are apparently so effective at being irritating that they just had to steal them from the Apex. Quite apart from the annoyance of trying to kill someone that never stops teleporting all over the north end of the map.

Quote:Apparently, the subtle science of horizontal scrolling eludes them.As they had to add the League and LFG tabs in there, likely this isn't going to happen.

Bugged it before coming here. Looked on the forums before posting. Didn't see any existing threads on it at the time. Even now, doing a search for "chat window" turns up only my thread, for me.
-
Please return the minimum chat window width to it's pre-i19 value. It was an unnecessary change that is now forcing me (and presumably many others) to completely rearrange screen layouts that I've been working with for years. Anyone who WANTS the chat window that wide can drag the frame edge.

Someone should start a pool of what will get useful dev attention first: PvP or Base Building?
My personal bet would be placed on "Everything Else... except, maybe, bugs..."
