  1. Sounds cool. I'd like to see it as well.

But I have to ask... if the same were given to villains, wouldn't they get a... 'Big Blue Ball'?
  2. While I am thankful Grounded having the added passive resistance to immob/KB as an attempt to somewhat fill one of the two crucial holes Electric Shields has... the manner it is executed still makes it fall short to how it was intended.

My only request on changes for the powerset is for Grounded: Allow the protection to work no matter what surface you are on so as long as you are on the floor somewhere. It is way too limiting for to work only on a flat surface and I'd wonder what Stone Tankers/Brutes would react if their Rooted functioned in this manner. I think its balancing enough with that restriction as still with any other travel power that sets them above the ground including a simple jump, will deny them of it.

Doing this will hopefully allow others to have simply a *choice* to be able to grit their teeth for the limited but adequate level of protection Grounded offers, and be able to pick a travel power other than Super Jump.
  3. Grendel's Blood

    History

"Well, 'ug der'. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Dr. Verde. You wished to do business with me in what I produce? No? Ah. You desired information about the 'group' I choose to support... 'Grendel's Blood'. Very well... I could tell you of its history that I've gathered if you have the time.

"In its beginnings, da Blud Klan wuz... *ahem* pardon me. The Blood Clan was a fairly larged sized band of trolls founded in the mid 90s by its leader named Grendel, clearly. He was an immensely powerful troll, and possessed quite a level of intelligence. Some stories claimed he was once an obscure super powered human that turned to dyne, amplifying it greater... others say he was once a very gifted telepath, and the prolonged and extreme usage gave him that power. Or perhaps he born that way. Regardless of the story, he was an elusive figure dat neber... never, hardly showed his face and used the trolls most faithful to him as his mouthpiece. That is why only some trolls have "Blood" within their names: they were the most faithful to his cause, and swore a blood oath to him.

*nonchalently releases an ampule of a low level of airborne superadyne into the air, away from others' eyes*

"Much lyk da ovv'r klans... the Blood Clan trolls took in the simple pleasures of 'klomping' things, wild parties, and the intake of the drug I so lovingly make nowadays. However, there was a nature of rule in the group due to Grendel's prescence... which was harsh, yet fair in the eyes of his followers. As a result interestingly, while the gang's reputation was growing increasingly infamous, the most they've done in their section of the neighborhood was vandalism and large scale assault. The deaths caused by them were significantly fewer in comparison to the other factions of Paragon City ---- if you carefully looked at flowcharts and the like dating back on file. But I'm sure that part doesn't interest you."

"But... onto what may. In the later months of 2000, Grendel caught word that a rival gang was preparing something big underneath the streets of Eastgate. Going to check it out for himself personally, he and a few close to him came to find a very ambitious Atta with his own gang handling explosives in the sewers. Dat led tu dem klompin''... *ahem*. It lead to both Grendel and Atta fighting each other, inevitably. While it would have been clear Grendel would have been victor, something occured down there. A blue flash of light filled the tunnel, and then a moment later Grendel was writhing in pain. Before Atta had the chance to finish him off, several of the trolls realized the explosives lining the sewers were lit. The rest of it I am confident you are aware of in Paragon's history: The Hollowing. Interestingly, while a few tough trolls survived the entire event, including Atta... all of the dead bodies found when a search was made were accounted for, except Grendel's. Perhaps he is still out there, but to no surprise Atta brags of his victory over him. While it is a large part of a troll's philosophy to lead by 'survival of the fittest', I personally cannot see a leader who won by an outside force... whatever it may have been. Veree nubhosh. Oh? How do I know this, you ask? There is a troll or two that I deal business in that witnessed and survived the event.

*smirks a bit, releasing more superadyne into the air*

"Hmm... while many trolls switched loyalties to Atta's growing gang, some... namely the 'Blood' trolls, still believed in their leader being out there. Bloodfyre, Grendel's 'little' brother (not by blood per se, but most faithful), decided to eventually move out of Paragon City and into the Rogue Isles by sometime in early 2002. There they hoped to regroup and ultimately get even for Atta's 'treachery', by what the Blood Clan trolls believe. It was then they renamed themselves 'Grendel's Blood'. They've been recruiting trolls in the area ever since, as well as those who no longer like Atta. I hear lately he's been getting hit hard by the local heroes often."

"That's about where I came in. In May 2004 came to be about the time I started my 'new life' under the indentity everyone knows now. Who was I before? Lat nub kan gruk. However, as Grendel's Blood was about the only group in the Rogue Isles that consisted of a solid number of trolls led by a formidable one named Bloodfyre, I took it upon myself to help them in any way I could. While I am not as physically capable as most of them due to what I... experimented upon... myself, I came to be liked by most of them over the course of time. As I do have what they crave most...

"Were you satisfied with the knowledge I shared with you? Yes? I do have one other question to ask... do you enjoy the quickening pulse you are experiancing right now? The feeling of being... powerful? Perhaps I can help you..."

    What is Grendel's Blood?
Grendel's Blood is an RP VG located on the Virtue server that is troll themed. All trolls are welcome to join: wheter you are one created by dyne (Science origin), born from dyne using parents (Mutant), or are the real thing and have been a troll without any interferance from dyne itself directly/indirectly (Natural). If you are a mature roleplayer interested in creating a troll for this group, please read the rules and information needed for making one below. Also, for further info regarding anything else, you can find it here.

    Rules

    - Roleplaying: It is expected that everyone in the SG has an interest towards playing our their character. As trolls in CoH do speak in a primitive form of English, 'orc blah' is only optional and used at one's descretion how much they want to use in how their character speaks. It is however, to those not familar to the language, to have a grasp of it so to understand others.

If you have a problem you wish to express out-of-character, please send me or any of the other leaders a tell or a PM regarding the matter.

    - Cooperation: Grendel's Blood members are expected to work together whenever possible. Always try to look up for other members in the gang when grouping. Try to share whenever possible to other trolls who are in need. SG mode is required to be on at all times until lvl 30, and all salvage pieces all currently go to Dr. Verde when they are required.

As the setting for the SG makes it for a less xenophobic setting than other Shadowclan branches, everyone should still be wary of anyone outside of Grendel's Blood.

    - Activity: Please note that if your character is inactive for near 30 days, I will attempt to contact you. Otherwise, you will risk being kicked from the SG. This will not occur just yet as a strict rule, but may in the distant future as the group continues to grow. This is only because of the finite amount of members an SG can have.

    Information for Joining
To create your rampaging greenskin, you will need to know the following:

    Origins
While you are required to pick either of these three origins listed below, the reason for your character's powers can still be taken from any origin. This can all be explained within your bio. This is to answer the question 'what type of troll are you?'.

    - Science - Dyne Troll. A troll who was once human, created by long-term abuse of the drug superadyne. The most common sort of troll, as all the NPCs in CoH/CoV lore fall into this catagory. Dyne trolls possess light green skin, enhanced strength, and reduced mental capacity. Some more heavy users lose all their hair and grow fangs and small nubby horns.

Use the lightest green of the three shades for a dyne troll. Just about any face will do, but some of the Hostile faces, and the Demonic face work nicely in particular. If you are a bald and horned troll, use Devil Horns and use a color matching your skin. Dyne troll tendencies towards powersets include Super Strength, Stone Melee, Invulnerability, Stone Armor, and Regeneration

    - Mutant - Dyne Born Troll. A troll since childbirth, created by one or more parents who are dyne trolls. While they possess all the same physical characterics of a dyne troll, their skin tends to be a bit darker and have lost the regenerative properties of their parents. It is assumed that this is a byproduct of the drug superadyne itself. While many enjoy the effects of superadyne themselves, they somehow aren't prone to having it as an addiction. While they are still in every aspect a troll regardless, they are sometimes regarded as 'orcs'.

Use the medium green shade for a dyne born troll. Consult the rest above from a 'Science' origin troll.

    - Natural - Natural Born Troll. They are the genuine thing, a troll that has been one since childbirth without any dyne to make them this way, directly or indirectly. As they are the real thing, they stand out from the other two catagories in that their heads are the least human-like, and tend to possess much more body hair. These trolls sometimes intermingle with the gang, finding a kinship with them.

Any shade of the three greens can be used, or any 'normal' shade of hair color for trolls with an abundance of hair. Use Beast 1, 4 or 5 heads under Monsterous.

    Powers
In all actuality, while the tendency towards which AT is most natural to a troll is Brute and would be suggested to any who wants to play one in a traditional fashion, any AT is possible to be created using the right ideas. Here would be a few of them:

    - Could be someone who already possessed powers prior to becoming a troll, or had subtle/dormant powers in which the superadyne 'awakened' upon prolonged usage of the drug. (Note: In Angel Lopez's dialogue in the Zig, just about everyone has been exposed to dyne once, to 'jump start' their powers when they have been suppressed by inhibitor drugs used by the wardens to keep all the villains in check. It is very possible an addiction for dyne may have started within the Zig...)

    - Perhaps one of the character's parents was a Mutant, creating a dyne born troll who has inherented those powers as well.

    - An ordinary troll who simply came across something (object, force, or special training) that gave him/her unusual powers from what would be expected of other trollkin.

    Naming
When naming your troll, go for a name most fitting for him/her. This can in the form of an Orcish name, or name derived from Orcish words. If you require help with one, consult this page, looking at the list at the bottom:

When you do have a troll created, please contact either me @Bloodboulder, or another capable of recruiting currently: @Tempus Fugit, @Blue Nugget, @Lt. Les, @General Stratos.

    Ranks of Grendel's Blood

    - Runt: The lowest rank in which the least amount of respect is given.

    - Smasher: The rank in which a troll truly becomes a member, by proving their worth and make an oath of loyalty to the gang. These ones are starting to show their own strength and what they are capable of, ambitious to one day become a Grunt Becoming a Smasher requires completion of the first SF with the gang, an oath made to one of the Nobs, and writing up a bio for your troll in the Shadowclan forums.

    - Grunt: The veterans that form the backbone of the group. They've spent a good long while in the gang, and their deeds are not without respect to the younger members. To become a Grunt, completion of all four SFs is required, as well as performing a special task given by one of the Nobs.

    - Nob and Shakh: The bosses of the gang. When the Shakh isn't present, a Nob's word is to be obeyed just as respectfully as the Shakh's. The current Shakh is Bloodfyre.
  4. Hah. The 'Hero equivalant' to a mayhem mission is preventing villains from doing damage in the area. While something new would always interest me, I believe the unique Croatoa missions (like say... the infamous Firbolg portal one or preventing Red Cap hordes from destroying the Stonehenge contruct) were more or less loathed by the general populace.
