One of my toons with a very blasterish feel is Energy Blast/Storm Summoning.
Knockback is your friend. Stay on the fringes to herdcane, and bottle those foes into a corner of doom.

For great levels of damage, control and survivability, try an ice/mental/force blaster.

Illusion/Storm !!!

It is so good that, out of my 100+ alts, I can't find another that has even a chance of being as much fun to solo and team as my (now) T4 Incarnated Illusion/Storm.

As other people have said, this toon is about riding the chaos. It is a powerset combination that rewards adaptable play and tactics, not just 1-2-3-1-2-3 button mashing.
