  1. Sorry if this has already been stated somewhere but just had a quick question on paragon points.

Will the 400 paragon points a month be back dated so if, for example, I have been playing for 20 months I will receive 8000PP when freedom launches?

    Thanks,
    Ben
  2. I keep crashing to desktop while playing city of heroes and after searching these forums have come to the conclusion it is the 11.6 driver for my ATI HD5700.

The problem is that I cannot remove this driver from my PC.
Trying to install 11.5 does nothing since most up to date driver remains (11.6)

I also tried removing all of catalyst control centre with all the drivers and now the driver version in the control panel say 8.850.0.0 yet still says it is completely up to date and thus i suspect 11.6 is still on my computer.

Can anybody help me get rid of this thing.

(catalyst control centre is broken due to a virus attack couple months ago so I need a method which does not involve that)

    Thanks
    Ben
  3. Thanks for your support, I will wait to hear from VM as to what they believe is the issue.

I don't think I can use my spare cabled modem (for sky broadband) to put in its place considering it was not designed for 50mb internet like this super hub is.

I will keep this updated and in the mean time I may try using my laptop on another internet somewhere to see if the problem persists.
  4. Thanks for taking a look, I am using virgin "super hub" as i have 50mb broadband.

My PC is connected wired whereas the laptop is wireless, same problem for both.

I have also been posting on the virgin support forums, seeing if there is an issue with the router etc but at the moment they haven't found anything.
  5. Hello again,

The pathping information is pasted below.
The rubber-banding is all times of the although perhaps the severity varies with time.
The game I have played most recently other then CoH is Everquest 2 which worked fine.
    Hope the information helps

  6. Netgraph 1 shows a very frequent yellow spike among the green, im guessing this is not normal and shows its an internet issue.

I have heard about opening port 80 on the router, will this fix the problem.
  7. I just re-subscribed after many months of not playing and found that the game is almost unplayable due to severe rubber-banding. This is not "lag" so to speak but merely that when i move my charcter forward (or jump) they will stutter and reappear back at the position where I was initially.

This is very intermitant with it being ok for perhaps 1 minute and then going really bad.

Some of the things I have already tried :
    • Using a different computer.
I have both a quadcore PC and an alienware laptop that my wife is using, both of us play together and are affected by the same problem
    • Using "/sync".
I have used this command plenty of times and it has no effect at all.
    • Trying different servers.
I am playing on virtue at the moment but have tryed both union and defiance, the original UK servers from 5 years ago (these are where all my old charcters are) and the rubber-banding is still prominent on these.
    • Lowered graphic setting.
Although im confident my PC and laptop can play this game on a decent setting I have reduced the graphics to minimum and still this did not ameliorate the problem.
    • Tried different games.
I was playing everquest 2 before this and did not suffer from any rubber-banding at all, any lag was purely graphical and could be compensated for by adjusting graphics settings.

I hope somebody can help I would be very grateful, as I said above since I played everquest 2 with no issues it's hard to see this being a problem on my end but it is possible. I have observed some packet loss on various ping tests (5-10% etc), unsure whether this is abnormal but again the fact it only affects city of heroes is very odd.

    Thanks again
