Hi all,
I've decided to take the plunge and start taking commissions. There is now a link to my Deviant page with some really rough pricing guidelines. I'll be accepting 5 people into my queue at a time. -
Thx TA. I dunno. I guess it depends on what kind of response it gets.

Hiya,
Well I jumped on the "Dragonberry gets owned" bandwagon.
In this case, Battlewraith gives it to her:

Hi all,
Lately I'm finding myself working on several images at once, so I've decided to start posting all my sketches, WIPs, etc. here in one place. Also, if I have some sketches that I feel like posting I don't need to start a whole new thread for it.
Here are two images to kick things off:

I'm actually in the process of setting up a paypal account to do commissions. I should be making a formal announcement on the boards and setting up a que pretty soon.
The stuff I do for free is usually for friends, other artists that have given a lot to the community, people with characters that are visually interesting to me, good ideas that distract me, etc. Needless to say I'm buried right now and have several outstanding pieces that I owe people. Best I can tell you right now is keep your eye out for my commission post. -

I have 3 major things I like about this.
1) Catgirl <@_@>
[/ QUOTE ]
Sorry Mere isn't actually a catgirl. That is just a cutesy girly costume with a hairpiece. This is more along the lines of what I envision her looking like:

Btw, I keep getting an "x" when i try to view the closeup of my images on Deviant. Is it just me or are other people having problems too? -
Another update. Hope to wrap this one up soon:

Hey all, this is my elec/nrg blaster Mere Mal Faire. I thought I'd play around with something in a more comic/anime style and here's how it's coming along:

"Thought I ought to bare my naked feelings
Thought I ought to tear the curtain down
I held the blade in trembling hands
prepared to make it but just then the phone rang
I never had the nerve to make the final cut " -

Will people pay for having their art inked and colored?
[/ QUOTE ]
Something to watch out for is if they received the lineart on commission from another artist. The artist in question may have some sort of aggreement that the buyer will not have someone else color the work, whether the buyer realizes this or not.
As for Derek's question about how good art has to be for commission....
I've seen a wide range of quality in commissioned work. Personally, as a baseline, I'd say that the commissioned work would have to be recognizable as the character someone is paying to have rendered. If I commissioned someone to draw my ice/cold corruptor, I'd expect to see something recognizable as my corruptor in the picture.
Aesthetically, I'd expect commissioned artwork to have more visual appeal than if I just took a screenshot and was looking at the ingame character model. -
Very nice progress Scarf. Great job on the inking!

Here's the start of my magician card, featuring Scratch Acid, my thugs/poison mastermind. The theme here is magic supplanted by genetic engineering, as all her minions are clones engineered for specific tasks and controlled mentally.

Wow! I really, really like this! It's always cool to see your work colored by someone else. Excellent job Mr. Wraith!

Thank you very much Brandon, it was my pleasure. -

I am a a hugger - good, firm ones, not namby, pamby, 'not-sure-how-much-body-contact-is-appropriate' type hugs which are worse than limp handshakes (ARGH I HATE LIMP handshakes!!).
A real hug is eye contact, a real smile and then a firm, relaxing hold for 2 to 5 seconds where bodies are in contact and both people breathe easily. Then another warm smile and eye contact.
Then you're done!
