Also, if it affects anyone's decision to attend tomorrow night, I'm going to be doing some discussion on boobs and irony.
-
Ok well I'll plan on doing one. If nobody shows maybe i'll just record me coloring something. If I get some people there I'm going to talk a bit about how I've been using 3d on this project.
Also I got a $70 card that was a generation or two beyond what came with my computer. I don't need cutting edge game graphics or anything. As long as it does a good job with my 3d apps and Photoshop I'm happy. -
Egh, I bought a new card and everything seems to be fine.
It occured to me that this Thursday is Thanksgiving in the States. Do people want me to go ahead with the Thursday night Livestream? Or should I postpone it until next week? -
That was the first thing I did. Unfortunately it didn't solve the problem.

You really expect me to blame Rick James for my video card crapping out? I love Superfreak Kat!
Btw, Halflife 2 doesn't run either, so I guess it is a defective card. Does anyone think it could be anything else? -
Ok, so I stopped drawing and watched a Rick James video. Then I logged in and said "hola" to Kat. And then city of heroes broke and doesn't work at all any more. Is this mere coincidence? Who's responsible for this--the spirit of Rick James? Kat? Castle?
There are people that need to die right now in Siren's and they're getting all cheeky because I'm not around to pounce on them. The person who comes up with the best conspiracy theory to explain this sad state of affairs will receive a small sketch of a body part...like a face or a shoe or maybe a fist or something.
Also I think thursday I'll be talking about using 3d in your 2d and doing some soul searching about how to tell if your being a hack. -
It was nice to have several people on board last night, and be able to hang out and discuss things. I think i'll do another one next thursday, maybe centered on drawing faces and making expressions since symmetry was an issue raised in regard to my work.

Whattup!
The Livestream is tonight 10:15 pm est. I will be talking about developing the Massacre Melanie piece I posted and the Trix St. Germaine piece I just uploaded to DA. If there's any time left after that maybe I'll color something, who knows. -
Milk Weasel's is actually my favorite. I think the idea is original and it has a nice abstract quality about it. Plus, at the moment of death the monkey seems to be peering beyond the page and looking at the afterlife manifested as a couch.
I think Foo should go. The Mynx's faces look like angry ****** twins and there's this tawdry butt/groin shot going on that is probably better left unseen. -
Well the reactivation weekend is just about over, I'll sift through this thread tomorrow and try to figure something out.

Advent is basically the start of the Christmas season, roughly the end of November to Christmas day. The beginning of Advent is the start of the western liturgical year.
An advent calendar is usually like a big picture with the days marked on it in different places. Each of the days would be a little fold back window with a treat inside, like chocolate. -
Guys, I think he's serious about not wanting to be involved. The people chosen have to actually want the art. Feel free to nominate whoever you like, but I'll confirm with them before I do anything.
-
Sorry to be confusing. When I wrote "icon" I meant recognizable character, like a signature character. But really people are welcome to suggest whoever they like, doesn't have to be a highly visible character.

Weeee reactivation weekend!
Hi guys, I've made myself available for commissions again. Also, since it seems that a lot of people are strapped for cash and/or interested in less involved pieces I've decided to add a new category of colored linework that would be cheaper than the rendered b&w and color illustration categories.
The thing is I don't have a good example of how one of these would look, so I figured I'd do one of somebody's character from the forums. But this time, rather than pick someone myself, I thought I'd throw it out there: who are two forum poster characters you would like to see pounding on each other?
I'll tally people's choices and then do the pic based on the most popular responses. -
Hey all,
My account expires after tomorrow, so I won't be around here on the boards after that. I'll still be posting stuff on my Deviant account, but I'm really diving back into 3d so I won't be taking commissions for at least a few months until I get a grip on the new software I'm using (although I may practice on a couple cox toons). If I owe anyone work I've overlooked
please drop me a line there.
Thanks for all the support I've received from the art community, especially the people who have commissioned me. Best of luck with everything! -

I don't see how a background image in a full piece (where the art itself, even if the background image isn't) it's the artists original work counts as 'pwnage' in this specific instance.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah that's what motivated me to post in the first place, some people don't seem to get it. A "full piece" is everything in the composition. The "background image" in this case is someone else's artwork. I wouldn't draw a figure and then slap it on to someone else's matte painting and think it was ok because it was my "art" and somebody else's background. You have to create very artificial distinctions just to try to explain it away.
It would be fine if it was a royalty free stock image, but then you'd still be obligated to give credit to the creator.

Also, I don't recall egging anyone on.

Really? I do. Do any of these ring a bell?
"Parting thought: Those that can do, do. Those that can't... critique. "
"You can rant and rave all you want over what someone has done in the past, but find me examples that it's still happening, and I might be inclined to take your words with more weight then that of hot air.
Savvy? "
"Or continue to be rude yourself. C'est la vie, nes pas? "
"This? Comes off to me more as an infantile gesture to bork someone's reputation for reasons I don't really understand, nor do I care to."
