Thanks for the help folks. I let it finish, yes it was annoying but hopefully I don't have to worry about this too often..

It's normal to wait more than an hour for it to patch .pigg files after the updater freezes? Or it's normal for the updater to freeze?

Its now moved on to fixing piggs/textVWorld.pigg and I now have 1:23:56 Remaining.

I can't figure out why it's fixing this file at all. I logged off two days ago (I'm the only one using this computer), logged on this morning and the game patched and then stopped updating. I waiting about 10 minutes with the progress bar stuck at almost the end, then quit, relaunched and now get this.
It's got a Remaining time of 13890:55:49 at the moment... -

Hmm, I think I'll just say that my Brute is Mace/Willpower and is an unwilling participant in her condition that was perpetuated by circumstances beyond her control, her father, and manipulation by Mr. ???.
I'll add a snippet from a letter that Shatterswift's father David Wright emailed to Mr. ????:

In your previous missive, you mentioned that what she is is a direct result of my actions and my actions alone, but by just looking into her eyes, I can see there is nothing of my daughter there and therefore nothing of me. This is not what I wanted.

Perhaps I am being paranoid, but I have this feeling that even his dissapearance is a direct result of what happened as well.

Black Marrow, I'd like to be a part of this as well. I have a brute in mind and I've sent you a private message with her origin as I'm not sure her violent past would be appropriate for these boards (not to mention that I'm greedy with novel origins and I think hers is).
Although, if you believe I should post it I will. -

I would have to say,"No!"
My reason is because my characters are unique, not just by costume, but by name as well. Also, I'm not sure how I'd like seeing more than one me running around on the same server. It would really bum me out if it was some stupid player who abused others for their own petty games (like a griefer or something) who shared the same name as my hero.
It would be as if I decided to go to the Atlas Park sewers and train mobs onto the newbies in there with the same name as The Paladin. I'm not sure he'd appreciate what I'm doing as someone sharing the same name.
There's just too many negative things that could happen. -

A long time ago, I was a member of a wonderful supergroup called "The Tomorrow Foundation" and then "Wyldfire" both were excellent groups with superior people that always made the game a joy for me to play.
Unfortunately, after our leader of The Tomorrow Foundation dissolved the SG most of the wonderful people left to pastures that I did not want to follow. Through The Foundation I met the wondeful people in Wyldfire, and gradually lost touch with them after I had to have surgery for carpal tunnel.
When I came back and found my hero dismissed from the SG, I was saddened in that I knew that I'd never find as wonderful RP'ers/Storytellers/People as them...and so far I've been right. Good luck in your search, I know I've been looking... -
