Hidden was as impressed by Iron Fist as the other was with him. Physic didn't really have an opinion - but Iron Fist seemed to have some sort of a plan, and a good amount of intelligence. In the end that's all that really mattered.

The slim female ran her pale fingers through her purple-hued hair, thinking that this was insiane, that there were too many troops, that she had a tear in her costume - she's need an apppointment at the Tailors to fix that - and then thinking that that was silly, and since when did she ever think about things like that?

Hidden had marched double-time to catch up with the rest of the troops, and Physic soon followed, healing and strengthing the troops whenever she could; holding as many enemies in their tracks as she could.

Knight was lost from view for a minute, underneath a pile of Nemisis troops. Then they all died, and she exploded from underneath then to charge up the street after her friends.

"What do now with giant stone?" The deadly femme inquired, in her gruff voice.

Hidden was the one to answer, Physic was busy throwing a sofa at the nearest enemy.

"There's still more statues to destroy; after that it should be over. Oh, get the guys behind you, Knight."

Knight swung around to deal with the ambush, just as the second statue loomed in the not-so-distant distance.

"There she is." breathed Physic, and Hidden paused in his battle.

"Same as before, phys. Lets get 'em."

The two (followed by KNight) ran to meet the hulking from, immediatly attacking the feet and legs, just as the tactic required.

    "Yes sir, Iron Fist SIR!"

Hidden replied smartly, almost out of habit - he recongised a militaristic figure when he saw one. The salute he threw to his brow was professional, to the point and brief.

Sinking back into stealth mode, the defender concentrated his radiation blasts on the monstrosity's feet, just as commanded.

Physic nodded at Iron Fist, hovering at Hidden Incognito's left shoulder, and pumping the nearby heores full of syphoned power, speed and health.

She Crushed the metal as much as she could; but the beast was far to heavy to lift or hold. Nonetheless, a few dents appeared in it's frame as the gravity increased around it's monstrous legs.

Knight was making sparks fly as she beat upon it with her battle axe, the aura of flames tarnishing the thick hull.

Then the beast was exploding, and none of the heroes really knew why.

Ah well, one down.. countless others to go.
Hidden marched smartly up to Iron Fist, threw the salute again, and then:

"Iron Fist sir! What are our current mission objectives, Sir!"

Knight wandered off again, raking the nearby nemisis troops with the fury of her mace, scorching them with her fiery aura... And generally slaughtering the horde. She was good at that. Unfortunatly that's about all she was good at.

Physic Defiance padded up to Hidden and Iron Fist, tentitavly, and asked of him:

"Sir," she began uncertainly, unsure if her words would anger him, "I hope you have a damn good plan. We could maybe clear the area, but by then it's possible that things are going to get much worse."

Hidden scowled at her momentarily, then shrugged her insubordination aside. She was a heroeine; what would she know of the military?

The massive groanings and creakings were what finally pulled Knight from the battered hunk of meat and flesh. There was no way of knowing what it had been; but its remains were spread in a metre-wide radius. Knight's war mace almost clattered to the ground as the nearby statue turned it's burnished steel head to look upon her.

    "Knight! Run! Jump! Move!"

"C'mon Knight, don't just stand there like a filthy cadaver, get a move on!"

The exasperated Physic Defiance and HiddenIncognito both grabbed one of the battle-lass's arms and dragged her out of harms way - as much as they could. Harm had a fairly large range, and the statue was bearing down on them with growing confidence and speed. The giant contraption's shadow blocked out all light, the steel beast lifted a huge foot – there was no movement for a short movement, but it seemed to be taking careful aim.

Physic had no choice; with a tensioning motion she teleported away. The two remaining heroes blinked for a moment, surprised that she would be so cowardly as to leave them to be crushed by the hulking nightmare. It was explained, however, as Hidden felt Knight get pulled away into thin air. He followed soon after, the rumbling STOMP! of the statue's feet now a good distance away.

Knight hadn't moved from the spot where she had been teleported. The leather-clad femme shivered anxiously, and gruffly complained. "You stealing my body is annoyance. Why do that Phys?"

Physic had only the time to shake her head, grab Knight's arm again, and motion urgently to Hidden.

The trio sprinted down the street, Hidden in stealth mode, Physic prepared at any time to teleport away, and Knight dragging her gigantic mace behind her.

"What just happened, Hidden? This is like some B-class horror movie."

The stealthy hero shook his head, and then realising they couldn't see him added a short "No idea."

All around, the longbow were engaged in tough battles with the nemesis, or else laying in awkwardly-placed heaps. Hidden paused several times to perform a mutation on them – soon he was exhausted from the constant task of resurrecting the fallen heroes.

"Need to rest, Phys." He pleaded, so rest they did.
Physic Defiance crouched against some rubble, tuned into her earpiece, and vainly tried to get a hold of.. well, anyone. She went through all her contacts, friends, even the ones she didn't particularly like… But the signal was dead and gone. The only ones she reached weren't picking up. She sighed and watched Knight wade into the onslaught of Nemesis troops, screaming the unintelligible battle cry of "AAAIIIERRRAUGGGHSSRET!"
"Hey, Phys?" the voice by her ear startled the slender hero form her private worries. She had forgotten that Hidden was in stealth mode; but now that she knew he was there, but shadowy form was plain to see.

    "Humm?"

"There's... There's troops I don't recognise attacking that huge statue over there. D'you reckon we should lend a hand?"

Physic peered around the corner, squinting at the not-so-distant battle. "Why not. They seem to know what they're doing."

Disengaging Knight from her battle, the trio picked their way to the ongoing battle, launching as ferocious an attack on the metal beast as they could. There were no more words exchanged between them.

((ooc: 'ello all, are you open to a newcomer?

I know all the rules of RPing, so don't fret. I've managed to do just about all genres of Rp... except CoH. And I discovered that I like action. A lot of action. Blood and guts and gore and wounds and suspense type of action..

    It's all good.

So, I browsed this forum, read a good chunk of posts, and decided I wanted to join.

    Do yas have any objections?))
  5. I am a lowlevel (14 at the time or writing) Controller: gravity, kinetics and teleport sets. The kind of charrie you pat on the head and smile at. But my Transfusion is a lean, mean healing machine, and the holds are useful for keeping the Morties at bay while you slaughter their precious creations.

I, as a rule, accept most Blind Invites. I do. I'm desperately trying to get myself to 15 so I can PvP with a friend... And if the XP is handed to me, I'll take it, and ask for more.

I do very much appreciate a tell before the invite; I appreciate the leader more and tend to get really excited about the team.

The best teams I've been on had some melees (tanker and a scrapper or two), a couple of healers - whether it be O2 boost or a hardcore rez'er - and then as many ranged-powered Arch's as possible. (mostly 'cus it's hard for us defenders and controllers to solo in the lower levels so we're always LFT)

But I've had bad times also. The most recent bad experience: A kamakazi defender two levels below the average of the team, aggro'ing the heck out of a pack of outcasts and then going AFK while we're trying to get him rez'd... for the fifth time. And then he starts the cycle again. And again. (I eventually got fed up, and kept him on a short leash with my Recall Friend while the team was resting 'cus he flat out refused to wait for them)

    ...

Some teams have no direction ("Uh.. I guess we can hunt, or something...")
Some teams have bad mishes, (yeah, we usually share the same contact, but we DON'T have to do FrostFire three times in a row)
Some teams sit around waiting for this and that (I can understand if you're in Boomtown, and the mish is in the Hollows... But tell us again why we can't start without you?)
And some teams like to dissolve into nothingness just as we get to the door.

    ...

I don't find team build has much affect on the outcome; it really depends on the experience, willing-ness and IQ level of the members - barring the few, obviously bad, combinations.

Teams should move fast - if someone's AFK for dinner, move on. Choose missions more-or-less close to each other in location. (And if not, at least make sure everyone can get there safely. We don't want to wait for people to jump back and forth from the Hospital)

Mish's should be made for the average-level of the team. DON"T pick the highest member's mish... unless the spread isn't that bad. Same for lowest.

Blind invites often lead to ragtag teams... But -can- excel if you know what you're doing.

You may be impressed by the firepower of the Tanks, Blasters and Scrappers, but the root of all good teams is a couple smart defenders/controllers.

Give everyone a chance, but if they suck, don't put up with it. Drop a few hints, and don't shy away form the kick button. (I often don't follow my own advice, and my experiences aren't that great for it.)

Finally: Make sure everyone's enjoying themselves. A happy team is a prosperous team.
