I still say that the more appropriate analogue is 'john' as opposed to '*****'. Nonetheless, I'm court-ordered to apply to your group.

The Creation of Mythos Island by BAKART
Doctor Epoch fights his villainous future self The Chrono King amidst the backdrop of the Cretaceous period. I never imagined these two characters being quite so "hands on" in a battle but I think the Chrono King just lost his head for a moment and let his emotions get the better of him. Talk about hating yourself...
As always, clicking the picture takes you to my deviantART gallery for a better view. And good thing too: There's a little something in there for the Doctor Who fans too if you look hard enough.
Enjoy! -
Yeah, I like to try to get different styles for the pieces so that each one has a little of its own uniqueness. I don't see myself repeating more than once or twice with a lot of artists but it isn't because I don't love their work. I just love seeing the different styles when I look at my deviantART gallery more. Taghuso is a notable exception to this because he used to give such great friend prices. I think I have him half-convinced to check in on his dA account because of all his new watchers and he may be available for a few commissions.
New piece coming today. Getting ready to put it up now! -

Quote:I've got a few more pieces coming in then there will probably be a huge slow down. I have an idea for a commerical project I'm going to be putting some money towards and that stuff probably won't get posted unless it's on its way to stunning success or abject failure. As a WIP, I want to keep it under wraps. You sure do have a nice collection growing Attache. Nice finds.

Yeah, that kid is a treasure. I'm working on getting some inks on Shadowshot now but I wanted to make sure I got someone who would preserve his awesome lines. I think I settled on someone pretty solid and who has already done some of Noel's stuff.

It's Goldsmith by Jerry Gaylord!!
A homage to the Silver Age Sandman (Spider-Man foe) and Gold of the Metal Men, Goldsmith reshapes his fists into huge rams and hammers when battling his enemies. Golden-colored Earth Melee doesn't allow me to do this to full effect (most of it has to be role-played) but it's probably the best one can expect in CoX so far. I don't really enjoy the redside as much as the blue but Goldsmith is always fun to play.
As always, clicking the picture will take you to my gallery. You can visit the artist from there as a link is provided. -
Quote:Two clicks. C'mon.Loving the Shadowshot piece and I always appreciate finding a new artist to add to my watch
Though I must say I find having to go to your page and then to the artists a bit annoying
Actually, the reason I do that is that sometimes people want a little character background too so I figure that the ones who want that can read the comments and then move on while the people just interested in the art can click on past. I always try to put the artist link in the first sentence. -
And now, back to the ladies:
This take on Satin Doll is by my very good friend Seth. He isn't very active on his dA account but you can find him by clicking on the image and visiting my page. I have a link for him there.
I forgot to give Seth the usual instruction when commissioning this so this is a pretty straight interpretation as the character appears in-game. Usually I ask the artists to tweak this or that rather than stick strictly to the options we have in-game but I was also commissioning several things for friends at the time and it slipped my mind. He did such a great job in the end, I didn't want to mess with it by asking for additions.
The only thing that bugs me a little is the fishnets. She doesn't wear them in-game and she already looks a little too much like Black Canary to add them in art. Even so, this looks great!
Seth, please start drawing again! :shakes fist: -
Just in case some of you were thinking of me as strictly a COH crossdresser: Shadowshot!
Pencil sketch by the awesome Noel Rodriguez. You can visit the artist on dA by clicking the image above to visit my page. I have a link there.
I love what he did here even if the costume details are a little unclear. I'll probably be in the market for inks and colors in the coming weeks. -
A few things come up whenever I talk about Janet Planet on the forums so in the interest of nipping that in the bud:
1) I'd seen Rocky Horror but I didn't remember that song "Planet, Schmanet, Janet" when I named her.
2) I didn't recall ever seeing the Schoolhouse Rock video "Interplanet Janet" as a kid but I figure I must have since I've seen every other Schoolhouse Rock short hundreds of times. Maybe it was there in my subconsciousness.
3) There is a Janet Planet mentioned in Alan Moore's run on Supreme but no solid image reference in the TPB. I'd actually bought it but didn't read it until after someone in-game mentioned it to me.
I was just trying to come up with a cool, alliterative space girl name and thought I was coming up with something unique. If you google the name, you'll see that I was quite mistaken...but it really is one of my favorites. -
Great Galaxies! It's Janet Planet!
Artwork by Chris Butler. You can click the image to visit him through my dA page.
I always wanted to get one of my female characters done up in kind of a "cute" style and Janet and Chris seemed like a perfect match. Another home run as far as I'm concerned.
Hmmm, I'm noticing a trend. Maybe I've got a thing for redheads... -
Again, my main concern was and is creating any sense of impropreity about the man's work in absence of proof. If someone is curious about the process, you might try asking him. He's on dA and does respond to notes. I know that English isn't his first language but he seemed to get all my detail requests just fine.
I'll be posting something else tonight. Hopefully it won't be as much trouble. -
And he links to it. It's also not the exact same pose, only a similar one. At least to my eye, anyway.
-
Quote:From his previous work, I kind of expected a cheesecake kind of pose and was fine with that because I could imagine the character doing a photo shoot or two with titillation as the main goal. I’m so happy that he picked more of an action pose – I didn’t suggest one because I wanted to work within the realm of his expertise.Well I don't know enough to really make an assumption about how he's making the art (or pictures if you prefer) but one reason I was never tempted to get a piece by them was because all the pics do have a slightly porno pose to them... Actually this one is one of the first I've noticed that isn't...
I have noticed inconsistancies in quality in parts but I had just assumed the artist had better references for the people than the clothes or such...
When I commission art, I give tons of references and instruction and I’ve seen a noticeable difference in quality between my requests and other commissioners and I always assumed that it was because of the references but it could also be a coincidence of timing and motivation.

This is where my money is going instead of my retirement:
Satin Doll by the amazing, J.A. Cano. You can find him on dA by visiting me and you can visit me by clicking on the image for a larger version. I want the page views!
This particular artist kind of specializes in pin-up art of pretty girls but I dare say that this is one of the best faces he's done and he's done it for me! Muah ha ha ha!
Also worth mentioning that he did a number of things completely different than I would have expected and I couldn't be happier. He's awesome. I honestly think he could make a ton of cash by doing the first one for free, getting you hooked, and then raking it in after you buy commission after commission. I'm kind of insanely curious how a male character would turn out...
Oh, that rod thing she's holding? It's a khatvanga and along with the amulet is the source of her powers. Yeah, I have to RP them in game. I wasn't trying to offend anyone from an Indian or Hindu background but the general idea was the Golden Age trope of how all the mystical artifacts are from a mysterious culture but are almost always used by a whitebread hero instead of someone who might actually know what they are.
Anyway, I have a few more new ones coming down the pike and I'll probably post them here rather than do the individual posts. Some of those seemed to disappear pretty fast. -
The photo manipulated one on the right *almost* looks right but I think the shoulders need to be built up a little and broadened. It looks awesome as is and the proportions are great for a regular guy...they're just not quite superheroic.

/e watching that artist. And llamas!

Another piece by my friend and SG mate, the mighty Taghuso:
Semi-interesting background here...Torch Titan was originally Tag's character but he had RPed out a death storyline and eventually deleted the character. As I was very interested in tying up the character names in our mythos at the time, I asked if I could do a kind of Hal Jordon to his Alan Scott. He liked the design and I got him to 50 faster than any character before or since. Well before the AE. Fire blasters can be a lot of fun.
I'll have this up in my DA gallery and link to Tag's from there. If you find his version of Torch Titan, you'll see why I brought up Alan Scott. -
Someone showed up! I thought I'd brokes'd the intraweb!
-
Aw, poor Lib never gets any costume contest love either. Yet, I still get costume compliments. Anyway, she's still one of my favorites and I still dig this drawing.
-
It's really nice work you've had done...and kind of strange how many of those artists are on my watch list.
