I have played CoH/V on and off since it was first released in US servers and never had a problem until a few days ago, when I reinstalled the game for the first time in a PC with Windows Vista. Now the game crashes regularly, sometimes even forcing me to reboot the system. Crashes occur while handling lots of information due to a massive fight, or as I solo 2 or 3 mobs. I play LotRo and AoC in this same PC and have never had a problem with either game, so I don't think it's a question of wrong/outdated drivers or a fault with either Vista or Nvidia card, though I am no expert.
I have looked all over this and other forums for a solution, but there seems to be none even though many players suffer from this "issue".
I have Vista Home Basic 64 bits, Intel Core Duo E6850 3.0 GHz OCed to 3.83 GHz, 8190 MB, Nvidia GForce 8800 GTX (I have tried every possible driver, alpha or beta, I have seen mentioned in forums concerning CoH crashes, and currently have 177.66), Asus Striker Extreme mobo, 150 GB 10k rpm Western Digital HDs. Everything except CoH/V runs smooth on it.
I'd be very grateful for any clues as to how to fix these crashes.
Plus I never played CoH enough to try one out.
