Tell you what. I'll try it out. Now to find out how to get on the test server. I'm sure I've done it before. I'll figure it out.
If it's all good clean fun I'm game for it. Plus good clean fun + bullets + foreign targets sounds good. I may not be competetive but it's easier to shoot people who don't speak my language. -
My problems with pvp can be phrased thusly:
1: Adrenaline. Odd I know but I hate adrenaline. The feeling, the mood it gets you in, the competetiveness and, though this may just be me, the fact that adrenaline makes me scared every time it's used by my body (I'd imagine a side effect of the fight or flight response). I just don't like the feeling, much like rollercoasters and horror films pvp leaves me feeling unsettled. I don't like this, so I avoid them.
2: Competetiveness. I'm not competetive, other people are. Mainly myself and these people don't get along. I don't see the need for beating each other senseless in virtual environments and would much rather work co-operatively and socialise.
3: Reactions. My reactions suck. Several FPS and RTS games have tought me this. While this game uses less in the way of reactions I'm still slow.
4: Specific builds/L33T players: I consider these one and the same for one reason. I play to have fun and play the powers I like. Pvp builds and L33T players exist to min-max. I don't, so I avoid them.
5: Attitude. Not once in my life have I had a friendly pvp experience. This has tainted my view.
Some may take offence to the posted reasons and to them I apologise. However these are my views and experiences and I can't change that. I'm not a pvp fan and probably never will be. I don't begrudge people for liking it, that's their choice. -
If you're really stuck for escorts I'll put ashen forward. He's only lvl 26 but still handy with a teleport.
Name: Ashen
Level: 26 (And very good at avoiding high level mobs)
Archetype: Blaster
Powerset: Assault rifle/electic
Job wanted: Escort
If he's really too low I'll just be turning up as a guest. This really sounds like a decent event. -
To be honest if you want a rundown on the corruptor powers just look at the CoH equivalents. they're all near direct ports as far as I can see. As far as it goes most of the differences in the powersets are purely in the costumes of the people using them.
As for being a team player that's more difficult in CoV in that many archetypes are mainly out for themselves. Masterminds are the new tanks but a large amount of people dislike teaming with them and their powers are more "tempramental", Brutes are the new scrappers and wind up normally being the last one alive who didn't run and never seem to have a spare awaken, stalkers seem to go off on their own a lot, corruptors are blasters by any other name, dominators are probably the best team players but a problem to level up without a team.
In a good team these aren't problems but I've found many more bad teams in CoV than CoH. -
Heh, yeah that TF was fun. It really kinda struck me that it took all of five minutes to get a team six strong for a TF. A decent team too, major fun was had on my end.
As for citadel I'll try and get on if theres a TF chance. Just cause I love pumping bullets into things. I'll try to get onto my bro (Triggarin) and see if he's willing to be on as well. Depends largely on when it's at as to whether he can join, he has a rather large workload and all.
2 TF's and 2 levels. Not a bad record. Bring em on!
