Thursdays 7-9 at the moment. the main problem is there's a maximum level allowed before each meeting (I THINK it's before anyway...6-7 at the next meeting) for anyone involved.

Heh, yeah I noticed that. My reasoning (Since Brother Tchall himself is "normal") is that Brother Tchall can heal himself of any damage sustained being a medic. So he's less wary of these things and, due to him being able to heal them, expects others to be also. -
Yup, enjoyable. First time I've done major RP in the game and it was a hoot. Definatley worth joining. Again, like Dutch said, my character needs building on. But that will come with time.
-
So Tchall is creepy huh? HUH!?
Thank you.I don't think I've ever had a compliment quite like it. Helps when people get the feel you're going for.
Also for interest:
Brother Tchall
Natural
Defender
Empathy (Technical, magical and medicinal mix. Possesses good grasp of all three)
Archery (Traditional, broadhead arrows and shortbow. Potentially lethal.)
And I'll get to work on a bio.
Finally I'm hoping all of you can be patient with my healing as time goes on, this is my first real Empathy user so I'm still adjusting to it. Still, I reckon I did reasonably well this session. -
Message from Portal Corp and Freedom Corps specialists:
Subject: Brother Tchall
Receiver: Militia Database
Begin Report-
We are currently pleased with the progress that the subject, Brother Tchall, has been making. Due to the efforts of the Militia and its founding body we have easy access to Brother Tchalls combat presence at all times. We have noticed his growing prowess and will maintain monitoring.
While it has been noticed he remains relatively isolationist he has, nevertheless, responded better to those of a similar ilk than to any others attempting to gain his trust.
Hopefully the next session will prove as fruitful.
Report ends- -
I can't see Brother Tchall leading either. He's far too ready to use lethal force, so official sanctioning of him giving orders is unlikely. Also he was assigned to be kept a watch on while his capabilities were monitered, having him lead the watchers could undermine this.
-
Heh, I really like this idea. Also the IC chat methods described using the brackets would help. Makes it easier to distinguish. (Plus they're instantly recogniseable to me from IRC and forum roleplay
)
Also, just signed up. Keep watch for Mr Hoke. -
Looking forward to this. I should be on time but may be a little late, just a warning. Got a hair appointment and if it runs over by much (or the traffic decides it hates me) I may be late.
Like I said though. Should be there on time. -

That didn't go too bad did it Ash, I was there as Badge Hunter..
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh yeah, fun fun fun. Nice bit of banter. Some good defenders/scrappers/tankers/controllers/blasters/warshades.....In fact the only thing we didn't have that was good was a peacebringer, and that's just 'cause we didn't have one.
Very much one of the better moments of the game so far. -
You're really making me wish I actually read comics and so knew precisely what you were on about with the "golden age" and "silver age" things. I've heard of them, but that's about it.
That said a government enforcer unit isn't a bad idea, just difficult to play as "heroic" as such. Many government agencies and protocols are swamped in red tape and I'd imagine a government super group to be the same. You know, to stop "rogue elements" and the like using it for themselves. As such unless it's full of "Law and order before freedom" types that's fine. For those that want to be able to help people without being bogged down by bureaucrats (and thusly a national criminal if they disobey the bureaucrats) it would be a bit of a muffler. -
No offence but I believe. "I don't enjoy it." Is the single most concise explanation I can give. The precise reasoning? Purely psychological.
If I had to guess?
1: I'm not a competetive person by nature. Ergo the adrenaline that fuels and stimulates a competetive nature is a feeling I dislike and avoid.
2: Prior experience tainted my view on it.
3: I don't find it "fun" I prefer co-operation to conflict.
Just because it's "interesting" doesn't mean it's "stimulating". At best I find it stressful, at worst boring.
Different people have different reasons. These are just some of mine. -
Don't get me wrong I don't really think it's a bad idea or anything and I'm quite happy for you to do it. Also I'm not trying to be difficult or obstructive. For any that enjoy it go right ahead, I'm not here to tell you how to play your game. But by the same point I'll opt out for the opposite reason many opt in.
They enjoy it. I don't.
EDIT: Also I already have an IC reason to opt out lined up. -
When you make a character you get asked "Do you want to enter the tutorial?" click "no". Then pick your starting area (atlas in this case).
-
I just don't like pvp on anything. I don't play versus modes in a local network, on a console or online. The game and people make no difference I just dislike the whole feeling of pvp.
-
Arena for me = no. I don't pvp, period. IC or not I'm not a fan I'm afraid.
Also, though it's been posted before, Brother Tchall Empathy/Archery. I'm going to be taking several archery skills, it's not much extra damage but it's some. As for power pools, we'll see when I get there. I tend to just take what's cool. Though IC Brother Tchall will probably try to find ways to take powers that are useful, since he's meant to be team based as a character anyway. We'll see what I think will help the team most each time. -
I liked it. Again like Dutch's there are a few things I would change. To be truthful though they're mainly cosmetic.
As an interesting side-note Ashen also has a council vendetta, being an ex Penumbra operative. I'm tempted to try and outline precisely why in a story. Reading all these bios has got me sparked for some writing for a change. -
[ QUOTE ]
You could allways make an hunter ash I'm sure we can powerlvl ya
[/ QUOTE ]
Heh, I may at that. My need for alts is flaring again. Though powerlevelling wouldn't be required, it's simple to level at the start. Plus it'd make me feel guilty. If ya wouldn't mind having me along I'd ask what the restrictions are (uniform wise, I already know the "greek letter" hunter naming method).
[ QUOTE ]
Just wanted to add that although it was a different approach, Ashens bio was very good.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, it's the same style I used in Ashen's bio. I just thought it would be nice to have a different type of bio in than just stories and monologues. -
1: Yup
2: Most powerful? Nah, just different.Though as for including, up to someone else I suppose. I personally don't mind either way.
2: I believe this should be 3. Also getting to level 6 in two hours? That's going to be kinda a rush. It's probably best to just, y'know, take it as fast as it goes. If it takes a while to get new powers that's how it goes.
After all, it's all fun and games playing with napalm. The real trick however is figuring out quite how you're going to put it in that arrow. That could take a while. -
Oh yeah, I know english is a secondary language for you, which only makes it more impressive in comparison to some of the butcheries I've seen in bios on the servers.
I'll be the first to admit my English can hardly be called "high standard". -
I liked the bio Dutchie, works with what was talked about on TS without him being too "sneaky". Kind of seems like an overenthusiastic teen who took something he shouldn't have in one moment of weakness. Also I still like that name. Alright there were a few minor things I'd change gramatically, but then there always are with other peoples work. Like they say, it's impossible to critique yourself, others however....
As for a TF I'm always up for one. As long as nothing goes wrong such as schedule conflicts.
Also, it's a shame the hunters weren't on union or I'd be almost certain to have a villain in their level range to help out. As is you'll have to do without me. I'm sure it's a strain.
EDIT: Also, just dinged 31 during a twin IP octopus run. Two of em in an hour. Nice and fun. -
The create a character screen, I'd imagine, was used. He just made those as ideas of what his cossies were going to be.
-
Whooo, heh. You know what I said last night about joining a TF if something didn't come up? Do ya?
Yeah well guess.
Right, I'm gonna be gone probably between 9am and 1pm. Planting vegetables.
Pity me. -
Right posted my char bio.
I hope you don't mind me basically making someone higher up than minister (or maybe equal rank but on good terms with) dumping my guy on the team? To be honest it's the only time it'd happen and only to give my character a reason to join.
If you do mind however it's easily changed.
Also, on a somewhat related note, if there is a decent (and detailed) collection about praetorian earth and if so can someone tell me/send it to me? I haven't hit them yet with my CoH characters but may need info. -
Report compiled by Portal Corp and PPD specialists:
General: [/b]
Name: Unknown
Designation: Brother Tchall
Role: Healer/Ranged support
Physical:
Height: 510
Weight: 160lbs
Eyes: Brown
Hair: None
Powers:
Primary: Unknown combination of magical and technological reagents along with more standard medicinal practices. Airborn and selective delivery systems utilised. Closest conventional equivalent: Empathy
Secondary: Conventional Archery
Psychological:
Generally pleasant, though quiet. Brother Tchall does have an odd fixation with being referred to as Brother and will often refuse to answer to anyone that just refers to him as Tchall (though just Brother will always elicit a response). Also unlike some other healers he has no qualms causing others injury or pain, merely stating that If a few must suffer so that many can thrive so be it. He also seems to treat death, either enemies, team mates or even his own, in this strangely flippant manner.
Despite this acceptance of the possibility of injury or death in the line of duty he does not take pointless risks and is actually rather cautious in a combat situation. This works well with his duties as a combat medic.
Advise continued psychoanalysis.
Origin:
Unknown, despite the best efforts of Portal Corp specialists the precise origin dimension of Brother Tchall remains elusive. Continued investigation is being undertaken, but is a low priority in view of other extra-dimensional threats.
Theory: Potential link to Praetorian Earth due to **extremely** limited descriptions on behalf of Brother Tchall. Bears looking into as/despite he appears to have no loyalty to Tyrant.
Recent History:
According to PPD officers on the scene of Brother Tchalls first appearance he simply Popped into existence in the middle of a busy road. No known precise sounds or lighting alterations which could have provided some clue as to origin dimension based on known methods of dimensional transit.
Shortly after this (and several hundred dollars property damage) Brother Tchall was taken into custody and investigated by all required agencies and personnel. By the current date he has been in care for 18 months and has undergone extensive education in adapting to this dimension. He appears to be a remarkably fast learner and now possesses a knowledge of this world comparable with many lifetime residents, however despite this he lacks actual real world experience.
Thusly he has been recommended to a sponsored superhero collective (See: Supergroup) known as The Militia for easy observation and monitoring. Also should something go wrong surrounding members should be able to detain him.

Recorder: Suit yourself.

Once again, and I hate to repeat advice, GoTo is your friend. If you can remember the powers most used at certain ranges the GoTo command allows some reasonable tactical control of your pets since range seems to be the main decider.
Of course that doesn't stop pet stupidity such as using only ranged attacks while in melee (I think most of us have suffered from that at some point), but it's your best bet.
