Excellent effort by all who joined us this morning.
See you all in 2 weeks for the final installment....Faathim
  3. EST would be the time zone, Dash. Did not note that, I will edit the post in a moment. I'll keep you in (unless the time still does not work for you). Hopefully, we can get 8 again and not have a 30-45 begging fest on the channels for folks to run the TF.

This is a short one, and a pain for all the kill (x amount) on the maps, but hey...what's another Justin run. I lost count on how many Faathim runs I have done....
  4. Unfortunately, I have only one villain even in range and I play him once or twice a year and I don't want to bring a toon that I don't have full confidence in playing for anything (especially this trial). Never got around to playing CoV full-time or even part-time, I was more of a seasonal villain!

As for the discussion that has occurred here today between a few members of the forum, if I may give my two cents:

First, as a participant of several MoLGTF runs with Capa, she had sacrificed on many MoLGTF runs for others to get that badge (myself included). I will always be thankful for her sacrifice in helping others get that badge (again, myself included). This does not imply that anyone else has not sacrificed for the benefit of others, it's easy to say that the vast majority of the veteran players of this (and other) servers have sacrificed to help other players earn badges, etc. over the years.

Since Alpha is running the trial, he would set forth what he would need, etc.
We have done several attempts with less than perfect team composition and way too many appearances by the Storm aspect. I believe Alpha has a right to choose how and what he wants for the trial. Seeing that we have had no success (at least in the runs that I have been able to participate in), I can see why Alpha wants to try something different and more tailored to see if that team composition might work.

While some may not agree with this, it is in the end Alpha's choice. While I do concur with some that the parameters may be a bit too narrow and you might not be able to get 24 players, I hope I am wrong and that your idea and team composition works and that you succeed in this trial on Friday. Alpha's explanation and his reasoning is alright with me (in my opinion).

I hope you don't stop doing these Alpha, but again that is your choice. While we have not had success, the trials have been fun and challenging and playing with a bunch of great players on this server makes the failures not be so bad.

From reading what I have read, it seems like a big misunderstanding and I hope that things can be worked out so that other folks who have not participated in this trial can enjoy the opportunity to do so.

    Good luck on Friday, Alpha!!
  5. Alpha or Vixen.

When is the next scheduled run expected to be?
Trying to update the Facebook page with the current server events.

    Thanks folks!
  6. Posted it up on the Facebook page for you.
If you can update this post with future runs, I will add them to the events tab.
Good luck with the Rikti Raids, Vivian!!
  7. Happy, Happy Birthday CAPA!!!

May you enjoy your special day and celebrate many, many more in good health and happiness!
  8. I will be unable to run these in the next two weeks myself unless it is a early run on Sunday (8AM/9AM) for Justin (which is a pain in the butt TF), I will be unable to run a TF proper until October 10th as this weekend is the final packing push, and next weekend is the soft move-in and the movers come to get the furniture on Monday the 4th. At the same time, I will have DirecTV and Comcast coming to set up the dish and cable internet as well. So, it will be a mob of folks running around setting things up.

So, Dash if you can get your toon up to 44 for the next TF by Sunday AM TF or if you need it on another toon, I will take a couple of hours off on my Sunday AM to do this run and the Faathim run would be on October 10th in the AM.

Guess we can call it "One-Eye October" or something like that....

So, if you want in for this, sign up:

    Sunday, 09/26/2010 - 8AM EST (5AM PST) start time.

    1. Me (with either my blaster or dark x 3 defender)
    2. Dash (Dash Action Figure' (lv.43 shield/axe tanker) or other toon?
    3.
    4.
    5.
    6.
    7.
    8.

    ALTERNATES
    1.
    2.

For those who do sign up, please try to make it on time. I don't usually ask this of any TF (especially since it is an early AM signup), but since I am on a pretty tight schedule now for the move, the sooner we get started, the sooner we can finish and I can get back to packing hell.
  9. Well, since Vauluur could not make it, and myself and Dash did, I went ahead and tried to put together the Sara Moore run. After about 30-45 minutes of no interest, some folks finally joined up and at around 9:10 we were able to get started.

    The team consisted of:

    Armeros
    Dash Action Figure*
    Malice Intent
    Lyndsey White-Widow
    Brakeneck
    Fiery Fallout Feline*
    pixiefighter* (Congrats on hitting 50)
    Damianos

    * Level up

We ran the TF in 2:55. Exceptional work by the team and a good time was had by all. Thanks to Dash for sticking around and the rest of the squad that joined up this morning.
  10. Guess I need to have my eyes checked.
I also noticed that there was no spot available for a blaster, so I guess it will have to be another time for my badger. Obviously, for a Master run, especially the STF/LRSF, team configuration is critical.

Once again folks, good luck with the Master LRSF run.
  11. Damn, need the LRSF for my badger, but made the CoP commitment beforehand.

Good luck with the run folks!
  12. Nice time on the Dr. Q run you all had last weekend! My best was around 4:30 something and that team was just mowing things down.

First, is this for Sara Moore TF?
Second, I can make both dates, I am at work on Friday (but will be working solo, so I can bring the laptop and run the TF) and Saturday, so as long as it is an AM run, I am good as well. I will be participating in the CoP run. If it is an AM start (as is your preference), I am good to go, speaking for myself...the earlier the better, and I can either bring my blaster or dust off my dark x 3 defender. I have a couple of other toons in the 40's (a fire/kin and a sonic/emp), but given the preference I am better with the blaster / dark defender than the fire/kin, sonic/emp.
  13. Were you able to get the task force done, Vauluur?
  14. Welcome...welcome...welcome back!
Hope you enjoy your time on the Guardian server!
  15. Went ahead and posted the event on the City of Heroes - Guardian Server Facebook page. Looking forward to reading the submissions that will be coming in over the next few weeks. Thank you, PERC and MadamePistacio for organizing this event!!

In terms of Dr. Quarterfield, you will not run into an AV in that task force as well as the Justin Augustine TF. The only AV's are in Sara Moore (1) and the Faathim the Kind TF (5). While I can't make it for this on Friday (due to work), if you do run these on the weekend and I am available, I would like to join in, especially the Faathim TF which I love to run whenever I get a chance to. Personally, I am more of an AM player (East Coast), but like I said, if I have the time, I will be happy to either bring my blaster or my dark x 3 defender to the party.

I also posted this up on the City of Heroes - Guardian Server Facebook page (albeit extremely late). It's been hectic for me in terms of packing and moving to our new place and it's been difficult as many folks have experienced a move at one point or another.

I noticed that if you don't have enough interest, that you would reschedule for Sunday TBD. If that is the case, dependent on time, I would take the time off the packing and run with you good folks.
  17. You are correct, Mental.

Personally, I like the -resistance that Tar Patch brings as well as with the dark defender's Howling Twilight to rez multiple characters at one time as an added bonus.

Keeping the Rularuu from moving around and concentrating them in one area in my humble opinion, makes defeating them much quicker and easier, so whether it is a dark/ice/earth controller/defender, if one is assigned to each cube, it may help.
  18. Count me in for Friday night, even if I have to drug the wife (or bribe her).

I am fully stocked with Warburg weapons, Shivans and a Vanguard HVAS.

Might I make a suggestion. On a unsuccesful run I was on this weekend, our team had a dark x 3 defender and Tar Patch was very effective in keeping the baddies in check at the cubes while the tank was holding down the aggro.

Now, I know dark x 3 defenders are hard to come by, but if we could somehow get 3, it would definitely help keeping the Rularuu in one place (albeit for a little while). I have a dark x 3, but I am trying to get the badge for my badge toon. Once we get the badge, I will be happy to bring my dark x3 for any and all future runs.

Well, just a thought. Can't wait to hit it on Friday night.
  19. Alpha is a great player and while I can only speak for myself, it's good to have folks volunteer to run events/trials/TF. Vixen is also a great player and I thought she did an admirable job in getting the trial organized and run. Were there hiccups, sure. It was a 1st run of a new trial (I call it new, even though it was around for a brief time several issues ago for a limited time due to issues with the trial). I have been on many Master runs with Capa who I also consider a great player and they have always been well run and I have earned 2 of my master badges with my badge toon thanks to Capa.

With respect, Ditzy but I don't feel that Capa was jumping all over Vixen. Capa just made observations and suggestions for consideration for any future CoP runs. Considering it was the first try (if I recall correctly) it went better than expected (in my humble opinion). Personally, whenever I run a TF or anything of that nature, I like to have feedback (whether it be positive, negative or neutral). That feedback helps me for any future runs and helps me be a better player and team leader.

In closing, even though that first run was not successful, lessons were learned in regards to the failure of the trial that will be incorporated into any future CoP runs and in turn it will fine tune the walkthrough that has been put together. I look forward to future runs for my badge toon and once he gets the badge, I'll be bringing my dark defender for some -debuff assistance so that I can help others get the badge as well. Thank you for providing those links, I can only assume that Alpha and/or anyone else that will be running these trials will take a look at those and possibly use the information to further fine tune the walkthrough.
  20. Hello, folks.
Can you please add me for this.
    Armeros (fire x 3 blaster)
    See you Sunday!

Been keeping an eye on Earl for a bit now and as of the 8AM computer models, only 1 show a hit on NC outer banks. The remaining models do show the system brushing the coastline and pulling away from the US East Coast.
Thanks to the subtropical high, Earl will continue a slight turn to the right as it moves around the subtropical high. Then when a trough in the jet stream comes out on Thursday, Earl will accelerate quickly to the northeast. The timing of the trough's arrival will determine Earl's impact on the East Coast. The current forecast still holds that Earl's center will stay out to sea.

There are a few websites I go to for tracking/computer models, etc. Hopefully, these will help you keep an eye out on Earl. I hope you don't receive anything more than some brisk winds from this system.

The South Florida Water Management website has a computer model page:

Stormpulse is a nice graphic interactive site:

You may already be aware of these, but if not hopefully this will help you plan and keep a better eye out on this and any future storms.

We now return to the Guardian Cathedral of Pain trials
  22. Well, sign me up then. Armeros (fire x 3 blaster)
    See you all Saturday.
  23. Hello everyone.

Thanks to all who have joined up.
I hope everyone is enjoying Going Rogue and all it's goodness.
Next update, October 1st ish (I will be moving, so I will be going crazy with that)
  24. I have a team name for you @mousedroid:

    See you all on Friday!
