I don't know, I think they've put too many eggs in one basket with that power. It's now an emergency power with three separate uses, which I think dilutes it more than anything else. I'm not sure it's possible, but I wonder if they could have put a taunt aura in the stealth power that suppresses when you're hidden. When the stealth suppresses due to being attacked or attacking, it would turn on and act as a normal aura.

The thing is, that this exact change, adding a small heal component and a taunt effect to ED, was exactly what the most... conservative of us were asking for. I understand their taking the conservative view, and I didn't expect them to add 50% psi defense to energy cloak. If, over the course of this testing, it is determined that these small changes do not adequately bring up the performance metrics, they will look at further, additional changes.

So far, though, these small changes have been everything I could hope for, and even a little more. The toxic resistance was gravy on the cake.

I know that's what most people were asking for, but I just want to say that I think regen would have been a bit more useful. That way, if you're using it for energy drains it's not wasted if you're not that damaged, and it also functions better as a taunt. If you're at high health and you taunt with it, well, you'll probably want it for a heal pretty soon. If it was a short regen buff it would function better in that regard.

Right now, with the three uses, it's hard to bring all of these new tools to bear.

Considering that it's quite easy to softcap most /ea defenses, I think the prior Idea was not an idea, It was just another attempt to poke fun at /EA.

So, in the spirit of 'creative dialogue' can we please avoid trashing the set and stick to figuring out ways to improve it?

Of course, considering that despite sending messages to several rednames, none has even showed up in the thread to say 'It's far down on the power list' or even 'it's working as intended'. The best answer I have been able to come up with so far is "I am not prepared to comment on it." from Castle.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Easy to softcap? You're kidding, right? I'm not sure how you can call it easy when you consider that using the set's shields plus CJ, Weave, and the Steadfast unique manages to cap NONE of your defenses, even Energy.

The idea of brainstorming it to just throw out ideas, there's no need to shoot down everything out of cause. Although it's not surprising that it's you, of all people, to be the one doing it, considering you defended the set with your horrendous logic for a long time.

I would love to give energy drain a taunt effect- then be able to slot taunt IO's- chance for psi damage......

Or let it cause damage as well- nothing gets aggro like causing something some pain.

The second that happens they'll take away the auto-hit portion and turn it into Consume. No thanks.
  5. Why, so we can have two non-stacking defenses?
  6. [ QUOTE ]
I categorically oppose making it positional Defense. We already have SR, EA needs to be its own set, and thematically Force Fields in this game (which is what EA is) use typed not positional Defense (positional means you're agile and dodge incoming attacks, typed means things hit you but just get deflected harmlessly).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Then they really need to revisit IO defenses. When any positional set can be soft capped with just a little bit of creative slotting it's ridiculous to give the typed sets so many horrible bonuses. I mean, the best set for typed bonuses is Mocking Beratement, and it only gives 1.25 to 1.6% defense in S/L/F/C. Compare this to Gaussian's, which gives 2.5% to all positions. If someone really cares about defense nowadays there's little reason to make a typed set unless it can cap itself.

    Changes to Rage

    [ QUOTE ]
I just tried stacking rage's on test. If my rages overlapped, my end did NOT drop at ALL! I had 6 toggles running. I was not attacking at the time. Maybe this change is for the better

Obviously, if I didn't stack them, my end would drop. This (to me) makes it more manageable than the current stun effect.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sounds like the old Haste trick. Way back at the launch of the game (back when haste needed only 2 SOs to be perma) it wouldn't suck end if you stacked it, because it was technically still up.

EDIT - Hey, Willy, most people already 6-slot their attacks. You seem to forget that people take things like Haste and Rage because it's the equivalent of being able to 7, 8 or 9-slot a power. You can't tell people to add more slots and retain any amount of credulity.

    Changes to Rage

    [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
Well there is one thing I can say...

If something is broken, too weak or too strong, they will fix it.

The record of the game and the changes show it... They always get it right. It may take some weeks of evaluating and testing, but they WILL get it right. And this from the mouth of an invul tank that doesnt think invul needs anything beside ranged def in invinc.

Have faith... They know what they do. if its bad, they will revert it. They always do.
    In States we trust!

    [/ QUOTE ]

So question.. you find unstoppable useful? Do you even have it? You know a lot of tankers who use the new unstoppable? I agree that it was broken before, and overall i agree with the changes to invuln, but I am not sure I agree with your statments above. Since we are on the subject, are you pleased with ancillary powers for tankers? Do you feel they address "gaps" in tanker abilities? I respect your opinion, but not sure I agree with it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Or even better, how about that new Tornado? Haha, and Geko said they'd improve it.
