I never played a boss farm, or any other farm for that matter. Just the ones I made, I did not hit 50 in hours. I did try several arcs that people made and I discovered that in order to do missions I still did not need to read a single bit of text. I did read several, and there were great ideas and story lines but I did not need that information to complete the mission. After doing a couple I got bored with those and went back to my farm mission, I did not go back to easy mode, I didn't want boss farms, I went back to what I enjoyed doing.
But in all fairness, to take your point of view, if all I am doing is leaving a game where "fun" and challanging means more hit points and more damage but leave the AI as dumb as a rock then I leave you to your fun. Grinding through mobs is not fun, hell you can tell the AI sucks when everything has both melee and distance attacks. -
I honestly didn't know, but that's okay. I did open a ticket and waited two days for them to respond, like I said in one of my other posts. That's when I came to the message boards to see what info I could dig up. Read Positrons posts and after talking it over with my wife we decided we did want to play the game anymore.

I quit because of how they handled the issue, not because of how fast my characters were leveling.

It is insane to think someone is going to run to the message boards to check to see if what they are doing with their MA mission is OK by the devs if the game allows you to do it. Nothing I did looked to me like I was exploiting a bug. I simply made a mission I thought people would want to play so I could get extra tickets and badges.

I never cheated. The only thing that I did that I thought was even questionable was put in only ltnts. I made them all martial arts and regen, both at highest difficulties. I later dropped their difficulties and brought them back up again. What made my character feel super was surviving hordes of baddies, it was fun. As far as I know the only thing I did wrong was put farming, xp, and tickets in the description. I had created ones that were exactly the same but with different attack types, one for fire and one for ice. I also put in treasure chests to open for badges and finally four rikti computers to end mission any time you wanted so you could get bonus tickets.
Normally there were three of us playing. We all had tanks, save my wife, and we all had blaster, except me. We would get two level 50s and sk the new character. Usually I with my tank and my wife or friend with a blaster. My tank would taunt and they would melt. The only thing we had to do was make sure the new char had hover. Now what made it tricky and both fun was I added ambushes to the protect objectives. We would get hordes of characters, anywhere from 10 to 20 on top of what was there, with just the three of us. Some times there would be two or three chars stacked on each other. It would take us at least two hours to do one mish. I later removed the protect objectives from the fire and ice based ones and that's when people started playing them. I had 50 to 53 plays on each one before one of them was banned.
Teltsar, now that you have some information you may call me a cheat. It won't change the fact that they lost accounts over it or that they put out content yet again without thinking. How many people do you think are making missions similar to mine right now who have never come to the message boards before? Do you think it is possible for players to break their as yet undefined rules without even knowing it? Yes it is, I did it. -
Hi Folonius
It's not that they didn't give back my slot. I waited two days for a response from customer service, besides the first one letting you know they are working on it. My wife and I just decided it was no longer a game worth playing. We beta tested CoH heroes, watched as they changed the game over and over. ED killed my wifes main, a regen scrap, none of our characters felt SUPER anymore. When I first played an MA mission it was like old times. Our characters were awesome again, we had a blast. I got a couple friends to resub, got my brother inlaw a copy to try, so actually it was six accounts they lost total. This was just the last straw of a string of bad things. We got tired of waiting for them to figure out what is "fun." -
Thanks you all for all the posts. I hope this thread helps people with similar issues. After talking it over with my wife, we have decided to cancel our accounts and leave the mmo market for a while. We just couldn't get passed how NC Soft has chosen to deal with this issue. The fact remains, they handed people the tools, written directions, and let people do as they pleased. Now they want to punish customers because the dev team put out an unfinished product. Again thank you all for your help and good hunting.

Thanks for the post Folonius. I don't really care about the mission, just want my slot back. This was the first time I got into collecting badges and the mission was really just for getting badges and tickets. I erased my non-banned farm mission the second the other one was banned. I should have read the patch notes I guess, I didn't know I was doing something wrong. I will again just ignore badges, I was never into killing x amount of y, but I got a couple badges in AE and decided to try to get them all. Anyway, thanks for the posts guys.

Thank you for the links Mirai and Telstar. I don't much read the forums unless I have issues. Wish I knew about this before. I did open a ticket hoping to get this resolved. Thank you all for posting.

Thanks for the post Awesome. I didn't know you get one chance to republish and then the slot is gone. Is this information listed somewhere?

When Mission Architect was released I wandered what type of missions I should make. I ran some searches and several caught my eye. These missions advertised there design as not a story but good for exp and ticket farming. Well hey, I thought, great idea, everyone wants to level their characters, earn badges, get tickets. What better way to get people to play missions? So I made three of them and I advertised just like the others. I log in a couple days ago to find one of my missions banned. The reason being "This mission was blocked because it was advertised or set up as a farming mission. By farming mission, we mean missions designed for the purpose of accumulating things like experience, tickets, or badges as quickly as possible, providing unintended statistical advantages to people who repeatedly run the mission. Missions of this nature aren't allowed and will be blocked by our staff. " So I unpublished all my missions and deleted them, except the banned one, you can not unpublish a banned mission.
I removed all the content from the banned mission and started up an actual story line. Create a rough draft of some but not all the custom characters. Had the chat in for starting the mission and decided it was time to get to bed, it was a week night. The next day I get another email stating that my mission was again reviewed and will remain banned because the changes I made still made it possible for people to farm. I got the email on my phone, was actually out fishing with the brother inlaw. When I finally get some time to log into CoH and see what other changes I can make I find that my banned mission did not republish. Atleast not all the way, all the custom characters that I removed were back, all the mission objects I removed were also back. The only thing that did publish was the text describing the mission and contact text.
Does anyone know how to work on a banned mission, save the info on your computer and republish? As it stands I have deleted all the content and republished with nothing but a defeat boss goal. Assuming the old content doesn't magically reappear again.
Also if the GM could give us a little bit more info. The advertising as a farming mission I understand but simply saying that a mission is a farming mission without pointing out what makes it a farming mission doesn't help much. "providing unintended statistical advantages to people who repeatedly run the mission" Please explain how I did this so that I can avoid doing it again. Don't just slap a ban on the mission and send me a general email.
This is not a complaint, I am asking for help. Please do not take this the wrong way.
