    You get used to it. You just have to do it all the time, everywhere, so that by the time you go to your next karate/kendo/etc. class, you can pretend it doesn't hurt.

    Ha...get used to it you do. In Aikido, you get to learn new adventures in pain when you not only sit seiza for long periods of time, but also eventually move on to suwari waza, techniques used from the kneeling position. To do this, you actually learn a technique called shikko where you walk in a kneeling position.

    Watch any samurai movie with action indoors and you'll see lots of it...drawing the sword while kneeling..moving quickly.

    My toes would sometimes ache for days after long nights of shikko based techniques. But then again, I could actually get to an opponent 15 feet away in about 3 seconds without leaving my knees....lol
