Quote:Pretty sure I said it was the width there and not just my impressions of dimension. It's an opinion, not a federal court order....so it's not the actual dimensions, but rather your impression of them that makes it too big?
I'm not sure I can help that, guy.
Still not a guy, dude, man, fella, mister, bloke, gent or male. -

Both signatures are a about the size of small postcard. too large and can be cropped down without losing the major details. A one line post with your signature is going to take up a lot of space. I posted this a few pages back but here is a site that shows typical web banner sizes.
http://www.designerstoolbox.com/desi...urces/banners/
Also Azrial, it's hard to read the text using that decorative font. It works for the name of the character but not other details.
It's also kinda big and could be reduced. -
Quote:Aberrancy is such a bad-*** font it doesn't slant, it tilts the world.
Seriously though, it doesn't come in straight. XD
Try taking off the outer glow, or removing the gold/white gradient overlay on the smaller text. It would be easier to read the smaller text.
Power Stream -Nice job on the font change! It looks great! -
Quote:Here let me help you out. Instead of trying to make it fit a set banner size. Reduce the overall size of the image while still retaining the original look and readability.Heh. It's so big I can't even see it anymore.
And to answer the question of mine being resized... here's the original from Zenvious:
http://home.pacbell.net/dcnblues/sou...r.zenvious.jpg
As you can tell, I had to 'squash' it vertically by a considerable amount.
And yes, I do need to do some transparency masking on it, get the white background to go away.
280x120
175x75
If you want, I can make the original banner transparent, unless someone beats me to it.
EDIT I see someone did. :P -
Quote:Your version of Photoshop doesn't really matter. There are sites for free fonts, I like to use http://www.dafont.com/ when I'm looking for a specific decorative font.I totally agree. Papyrus was NOT my favorite choice but I am on an old copy of Photoshop at home and don't have all the great fonts downloaded like I do at work. Do you all have a good source for good fonts for things like this?
Currently I have a ton of fonts, but more heavy on the decorative type, what I really need are good set of Old Style, Transitional, Modern, Slab Serif, Sans Serif and Script type, mostly because I'm studying graphic design. For just making a few sig banners though, you only need a couple of fonts and that free font site should help you out.
For your banner Arial Black would work or even Impact, if you spaced out the letters a bit, and those fonts are standard on most PCs. -
Every font has it's uses, poor Comic Sans just has been overused and abused. I've seen it in professional power point presentations and that's just sad. Papyrus is becoming as abused as Comic Sans...but let's not start getting into a font talk, or we'll be here all day and night and another day.

Power, I like it but what's taking from is the font...it doesn't suit the blasting image. I like how you put it in the blast though.

You could combine a couple of these for a dramatic animate banner
If you had a couple more shots of him...of course.

I think the perks are like the MAC version pack, Magic Pack and the Science Pack. I have them all, not sure what the others are for. -
Looks great on the Hero skin, not so much on the Villain skin
Mar he's just using a basic bitmap editor program like gimp, photoshop, fireworks, paint shop pro.
I believe the icons are the ones used on the Titan network site (if I'm not mistaken) -

I'd like to see some sig banners that are only the length of the sig line, which is about 125px. So something that's say 125x60 *Challenge!*
EDIT: For example
-
-
Rated T for Teen and a head bursting, blood spewing, baby killing animated sig do not mix. It's like the Sin City and Dawn of the Dead met and had a baby....a very violent baby. Somehow having it in black and white kinda makes it more graphic, if that's even possible. It's a eye catching in that it's like a car accident, you can't look away....The horror...
-
Remember folks, you don't have to win a contest to get a prize. By joining in the fun or trying out for a contest, you can earn participation points. At the end of the celebration we'll have a raffle and award cash to players with the most participation points!
Looking forward to seeing folks at the events. -

Quote:Banners come in various sizes. 468x60 is just one.Actually, I'm surprised that it's 600x120. I was under the impression that standard horizontal web banners were usually 468x60. (And I can see why they wouldn't want vertical banners on the site - ugh!)

Depends on the software program you have.
Photoshop comes with Image Ready. I used to use Ulead Gif Animator but currently sticking with ImageReady.
Ulead doesn't make the product anymore) although it seems you can still download the trial from CNET (it does not work with Vista): http://download.cnet.com/Ulead-GIF-Animator/3000-2186_4-10002057.html
TA is using a transition effect between each image. There are 6 frames for each drawing being shown.
1 is normal
2 has a touch of blue in the upper left corner
3 has a larger patch of blue in a wider area
4 has blue patch in a streak moving down toward the center
5 has the blue streak nearly covering the whole image
6 is a blank (white) image that creates the lighting flash effect.
-
As a side note...you don't have to sacrifice that much image quality to make a small size gif file.
