  1. "There was a report that Back Alley Brawler was badly beaten whilst checking out the defences on Liberty Isle... and his gloves were stolen. You come in here with those gloves, covered in blood." Xander said hotly, standing up with his hand resting on his rifle. The shyness had gone from him now.
  2. Something suddenly dawned on Xander, causing him to stare at the man who was the focus of attention at the moment.

"I'm sorry, but this is important... where did you get those gloves?" he said, addressing Twilight.
  3. Listen to some of the comments when you rescue people. "You capes aren't all that bad" or "Maybe I was wrong about heroes?" or things to that effect. Trying to think up of some other cases or sources, but it's a little not-forthcoming at the moment.
  4. Xander just kind of stared, open-mouthed, at Twilight, not quite believing the first part of what he was hearing. He was already shy about coming here in place of the two leaders of the Unity Vigil, and now faced with this situation he didn't know if he could or should respond.
  5. Xander looked at Jakob and blushed a little, trying to puzzle through the thick accent. As good as the languaging programing Zorielle had given him was, he felt rather embaressed and limited that he couldn't understand what the person was saying.

Shyly, he raised a hand. "I... do not wish to be rude, but could someone translate for me? My language decompilers are... well, coming up blank."
  6. Currently signed up:

Zortel (Level 50 Energy Blast/Energy Manipulation/Force Mastery Blaster)
Britanic (Level 50 Dark Melee/Regeneration/? Scrapper)
  7. Xander looked over to Britanic and smiled. "I will do, and as soon as any intelligence is recieved, we will work on diseminating it through the war council."
  8. Okay, Tuesday 8pm? Staging at the sewer entrence in Steel Canyon, we're looking to sweep through part of the sewer network dealing with Lost (So a blastfest, pretty much), and then head into the Abandoned Sewer Network to deal with Rikti.
  9. The young man in the Unity Vigil uniform raised his hand shyly.

"Good afternoon... I am Xander, sent on behalf of Zorielle and Tessa Rolando. Neither could not make it to the meeting today, Tessa is still recovering from injuries, and Zorielle is talking... well... ummm..."

Xander glanced down at his little list his 'mothers', well, creators, had written for him.

"Zorielle said to say that there are currently two Rikti Traditionalist Negotiators staying at Unity Tower for a few days, apparently she has had dealings with one of them before, and they are trying to find out if there is any weak points on their dropships that can be exploited..." Xander looked back to his list again, flicking nervously through the notebook pages.

"One of our members reported seeing two Rikti fighting, apparently for disobeying orders. The deserted was shot, according to the member who witnessed it..." Another turn of flicking through the notepad, brushing some strands of hair out of his face.

"Lastly, a report from the tower... the shields are holding steady against attacks, and food and provisions are still being provided. Morale seems to be dwindling a little, and there is a problem of keeping the people staying there entertained, but we are working on that. Most of the people injured in the attack on the tower on Wednesday have recovered, or are close to being fit for duty, and Zorielle is still working on assembling a team for the sewer sweep Mr... ahh... uhhh... Lunk mentioned."

Looking about once he had finished talking, Xander waited nervously.
  10. A young man with tanned skin, glassed and long, dark brown hair, clad in the Unity Vigil uniform, wandered in and sat down, carrying a heavy laser assault rifle on a shoulder strap. He looked around a little nervously, before taking out a paper and pen and starting to sketch to take his mind off his nerves.
  11. We're looking from anyone 36+. Zortel will be 50, if Gideon's characters come, it'll be a 50.
  12. Zortel

  13. ((Possibly looking at setting this forwards to tomorrow or next week.))
  14. Who says robots don't have a sense of humour?

    [ QUOTE ]

Nataline Hal winces slightly. "Oww... I hope you're alright? No permament damage?"
Nene MacAllister: It knocked my Asimov chip offline, which installed the three laws of robotics into me.
Natalie Hal: The Asimov chip? What does that do?
Nene MacAllister: It prevents me from injuring a human being through action or inaction, obey orders from humans unless they conflict with the first law, and protect my own existence unless that conflicts with the first or second law.
Nene MacAllister seems to be perfectly serious before breaking into a smirk.
Natalie Hal's eyes go wide for a second. "You mean you can inju... *frowns a little* You're pulling my leg, aren't you?"
Nene MacAllister chuckles. "I am, yes. I had no chip like that anyway."
Natalie Hal: Ohh! You... evil woman!
    Natalie Hal giggles softly.
Nene MacAllister laughs. "Do not let it ever be said that AI's have no sense of humour."
Natalie Hal: Taking advantage of an unknowing unnocent girl, you should be ashamed...
Natalie Hal grins. "I will never doubt that again."

    [/ QUOTE ]

    And then, just for Coile:

    [ QUOTE ]
Nene MacAllister laughs again before sipping her drink. "I do like to tease people at times. Especially Andre."
    Natalie Hal: Oh? Why him?
Nene MacAllister: Would it be cruel of me to say 'fish in a barrel'?

    [/ QUOTE ]
  15. Maybe Chest Detail instead? That's where the Samurai armour plates go.
  16. Zorielle glanced to everyone as she made her way out of the conference room. It had gone better than she expected. No one had tried to kill each other, several people probably thought about it though. The following weeks would be tough, and she knew that good or bad, she'd be getting to know these people as she fought alongside and co-operated with them.
  17. ((RE: Exemping
Damia or Sara could always go at 50, seeing as Zortel probably will be as well. Saturday is good for me too if it's in the afternoon, but planning to watch the first two episodes of Heroes with my parents too that day, so will need to work otu times.))
  18. ((Can always SK people up from 36, but that's the minimum level to enter the Abandoned Sewer Network.))
  19. ((Looking for 7 heroes, level 36 plus, to join Zortel on her sweep through the sewer system and the Abandoned Sewer network as a result of the Council of War meeting, probably on Friday?))
  20. Zortel gave a nod and a thankful smile to Big Lunk. "I appriciate that, thank you. As for the matter of a group identity, I'll let you all sort that out. Unity Tower is under siege at the moment, and I must get back there to assist." she said, listening in on her commslink before standing. "I'll bid you all farewell and goodluck, but my people need me now."
  21. Zortel looks over to Lunk and nods. "Of course. I'll get some people together, go through the sewer network doing a sweep, then we'll head into the lower recesses of it for taking out the weapons stockpiles..."

Zortel glanced about the room. "I'll put forward a few possible candidates, including myself, from the Unity Vigil. We'll be looking for people with experience to face the Rikti in close quaters, in a place where they've had five years to hunker down."
  22. Zorielle nodded to her old friend and rested back on her chair, just mulling things over in her mind for the moment.
  23. "We may want to be careful too... if the Rikti have developed their psionic abilities further, what is to stop them from affecting -us- with it?" Zortel said with a frown of worry.

Looking around the room, she took in all the various faces of people who had spoken. "As for the matter of the sewers, perhaps a group could be set up to head down there and destroy any weapons stockpiles the Rikti and Lost have made?"
  24. "I can recommend that, Britanic. The BRMC would be the ideal kind of thing we're looking for in this situation. It will let incarcerated metahumans out onto the street with constant supervison to help out, and if they become problematic they can be tracked, incapacitated and dealt with." Zortel said with a nod. "Who knows, they may even get a taste for it and decide to stay on." she added with a little smile.

"As for an identity... why not just simplfy it to the Earth Resistance Forces? Coile's right in a way, latin terms might sound impressive, but at the end of the day we don't want to wrap ourselves up in it."
  25. "He's got a point. If we go marching off to attack and leave our rear guard or the city vunerable, they have the technology to easily outflank us and tear us to pieces. Plus... we really need to think about -who- we send in for the counter attack. Some heroes are entirely unsuited, for whatever reasons, for what a counter attack involves, and some are better used and deployed elsewhere as well. While I feel more than comfortable in being part of a counter attack, I've got a few members who wouldn't work well in such a situation."
