I don't know about Martial Arts, but if you own SuperScience you have access to it in the critter creator. I'd assume that all Super Boosters would require actual ownership to access them.

Try using smaller maps first. It's a valid concept to have separate missions but you might want to use maps with shorter lengths.

Also not sure what to do with the 2nd mission ambush... guess I could have the ambush trigger on something done at the front of the mission, though I do think it's fun to put some danger at the start of a mission... usually too easy to slack off and go in however you want.
The startup ambush is a novel idea and you do give warning. However, some people WILL dislike it. Unless you get a cascading shower of low ratings, I'd say keep it. However, you might want to give an in-character warning in your intro text for the mission.

That phrasing in Tydeus's bio is on purpose... it's evocative of epics like the Iliad, so I'm going to keep it for those that will notice it.
I almost thought that was the case but figured it was better to be on the safe side.

Those other typos are maddening... I went through it like four or five times looking for those things... they're harder to find in MA than in regular writing, I think. So thanks for pointing those out.
It happens to all of us. I hate it when I catch typos in my own stuff.

I like your ideas at the start... I want to get the player feeling more involved with the story (as they're supposed to think about their actions in the storyline, in addition to Bladed Justice's), so that will help there.

Anyway, let me know what you think. I should fix it up some and get it in that MA contest.
Glad to help. The only thing is that I'm not sure your story properly qualifies for Aeon's challenge since the player does the right thing without controversy. If Diomedes was killed for the sake of protecting the innocent, then it seems like it would fit the theme of the challenge better.

The Triumph server Mission Architect SG & VG are mostly mid range now so I'll try to work in a few more of these for team tests.

Pretty good overall. There's one or two places where enemies say "them" and it would probably be more effective to use $himher. In a similar vein, make sure that times when the NPCs speak and mention Bladed Justice, they also refence the player. Perhaps the most glaring recurring issue is the way mission titles and objectives are done. For instance, "Defeat 2 Lieutenants and Diomedes" with the objectives named "3 Bosses to defeat" is either dry or repetitive pending on the mission. Would probably be better for the title to be "Arrest the Warrior Leaders" with "2 Lieutenants to arrest, Defeat Diomedes" as the listed objectives.

    Mission 1

Bladed Justice seems to be set to Aggressive AI which can be bad if he aggros everything.

    Bio
As a father to Diomedes is Tydeus. They grew up together on the back streets of Paragon, where the older Tydeus looked out for Diomedes. They joined the Warriors, and as the years passed, Diomedes grew stronger and cannier than Tydeus, passing him in rank. Their bond remains after it all, however. Where Diomedes leads, Tydeus follows, bearing his massive battleaxe.

First sentence sounds a little wonky. Might be better as simply

Tydeus is like a father to Diomedes.

If this is Diomedes, then he is a cunning and vicious warrior, responsible for the murder of Bladed Justice's childhood friend, and who knows how many other citizens and heroes. He must be brought to justice! <- remove comma

    Mission 2

Ah, the start of mission ambush. Makes sense and you did give warning but note that some people hate these, especially is they have slow loading times. Keep at your discretion.

The intro popup mentioned an office but the mission was in a cave...

    outro
No, I can't get too hot-headed. I have to think, and think hard. Only then can I catch Diomedes. Only then can kill him.

Grammatically, this should be "Only then can I kill him.". However, you might want Bladed to correct himself afterwards so it shows him at least making an attempt not to go down the dark path until later in the story after events have enraged him even more.

    Mission 5

Tub Ci had a Warrior minion with him instead of a Tsoo minion.
  6. The below was written before seeing this thread:

With Serious Business, it felt...unfinished...which is disappointing since it was enjoyable and felt like it was building up. If it is a 2 part arc, it should be stated as such, otherwise there should be another mish or two for closure.

While I like that you seemed to be trying to make the missions short and to the point, Mission 2 could stand to have more in it. Possibly have a named boss the player has to fight for the "password" and have the computer deactivated until then.

While I think I'm forgetting something, I don't remember any typos and I liked the contact. However, you might want to say you are paying for each mission rather than at the end since these are villains.
  7. While a healthcare story in CoX would be interesting, I don't think his arc needs that. The main thing is that it needs the "why so serious?" disclaimer and to fix the actual mechanical errors. Perhaps not acuse liberals directly since you are poking fun at the situation as a whole rather than specific parties.

My thing is that even if a particular storyline is disliked, there's a place for numerous different types of Architects in the AE.

All humor is subjective and politics is doubly so. You have an arc that could touch on some nerves, especially if they think you are too serious with your satire though it seems like you had fun making the arc from reading the thread. Similarly, some stuff could be seen as "incorrect" with some of the mixture of parties but I'm guessing that's part of the joke in the end.

You should probably only used MMs for your main/named bosses as opposed to regular spawning bosses like the Senators.

pohsyb builds the house based on the blueprints. He places the building materials and hammers in the nails.

You're saying all the devs that have NOTHING TO DO with fixing bugs should drop what they're doing and fix bugs instead. You're saying the painter, and the manager, and the lady that makes blueprints should STOP doing that and go rebuild a wing of the house. You're saying that BABs, instead of painting the parts of the house that are done and correct, should somehow redo the kitchen cabinets.
To my understanding, ABC is commenting more or less on "why paint more of the house some of the current paint is smudged?".

  12. Since I won't be able to get on, I'm going to say this to everyone else:

Please test this with some lowbies instead of just lvl 50s. While I enjoyed the Halloween event, some parts were problematic due to the way scaling worked with low level characters. Particularly ToT with constant boss spawns.

That's part of the point of the idea. Mission Computer is currently useless blueside and has just a single SF redside (though Silver Mantis SF is pretty fun). Adding either more regular missions or some sort of auxillary item that adds AE functionality would give it use.

Or why steal? Why not plan to, say, poison the water supply for all of Mercy Island. Not that anyone could tell, but it's still a noble effort. Just something where your contact doesn't say "Go do this and I'll pay you." but rather "Here, I have the information you're paying me to gather for you. Do with it what you like."
In theory, the Mission Computer would be perfect for this.

Crimes would also have a lead up and follow-up - so they wouldn't just spawn on a spot, they'd actually go there, do the crime, then escape - for example, instead of 3 Skulls just appearing at a garage door and doing the break-in emotes, 3 Skulls would come out of a random building door, and head towards the crime spot - and they'd be untargetable at this stage.
Once they got to the crime spot, they'd begin the break in, and become targetable - and instead of despawning after a certain time, they'd head back to the door they spawned at, as they made their getaway, still targetable.
The same system would be used for muggings too.

Also, when mobs were moving towards a crime spot, they'd stop if any hero got within, say, 200 yards of them, as they'd be aware they were being watched or followed - but if you kept more than 200 yards from them, you could still follow them until they came to the crime spot and became targetable.

Intriguingly, lesser versions of both of these exist in the game. There's spots in Port Oakes where you'll see Family exit a building mentioning something shady and if you aggro them they will run to another building to get away. There aren't many, but there are a few two part missions where completing a map will direct the player to another door for part two.

What I would like to see is zone events where I have to defend something or someone. It would be an intriguing contrast to the current kill/destroy setup and the only thing even remotely close would be the Steel Canyon fires. This allow different strategies like purposely stacking Tanker taunts to keep the enemies at bay or giving /grav Dominators a chance to be proud of the fact they have Dimension Shift.

It was pretty fun overall. Failing the first one was disappointing but it felt like the teams were starting to gel better over time. I need to remember that with smethal damage I need to avoid banners with ghosts.

BTW...Would anyone like to try for a redside banner event around Thanksgiving? I'm purposely holding on to some costume salvage to spring on the world on a later date but I'm trying to see if anyone specifically was wanting to run one. The only disappointment is that the salvage might trigger zombies instead of a Deadly.

  19. As a newer player I was wondering, "why do people say mercs is underperforming?" but I see the problems here and noticed a few quirks with my own use. My Medic actually used to use his heal a fair amount until he got Stimulant and the Commando runs out of EN way too fast. While not everything in this list is needed, a few key fixes would help them. One of the more interesting things mentioned was exotic damage. While the Spec Ops should get Stealth Strike, I think it would also be good if they got the Cryonic Rounds from the Council Marksmen. It would be a second snipe and would apply both a slow and -recharge to the enemy.
  20. Illpracticed Malpractice is now using a new map which I think is structured a little better. A few tweaks with optional objectives have been made also.

You make a valid point on this end of things. However, I think that the MA could be a decent springboard for these discussions. As I mentioned, some things simply can't be done in the MA so the devs would have to make alterations anyway. For example, in Posi TF there's a part where you need to speak with Azuria. Fun as MA is, we're trapped in that room with that glowing light so no fedex's for us, even when they make sense.
  22. Yeah, it's like the author tried and then fell off somewhere along the line. I'm almost masochistic enough to try to solo it on a higher level character since it seems like they were trying to do something but failed. Mish 4 might not have invoked as much hate if mish 3 didn't exist...

Also, I'll try to log on later to see if there was any response to the Sis Psy TF arc since there were small things about it that bugged me. However, I commend @Big Rab for the initiative and I'd like to see those quirks cleared up.
  23. I didn't catch the in-game tell but I do see this here. While I am disappointed in the actual rating, I respect the critique itself and I'll have to see what I can fix from it.
  24. The trick is to have a team ready BEFORE the banners start. A lot of people are still trying to get teams but it'll be at the last minute with only a few people showing up.
  25. Zamuel

    -Threat

How exactly do moves with -threat rating work? Any differences between using them solo and teamed? I'm assuming it works differently than an actual placate effect, right?
