The demo doctor tab in my demo launcher will remove the map for you if you want. It won't set the time of day, though.

That is good stuff - but we HAVE to get them over to the villain side for a few weeks!

Actaully, Castle fired the early nuke. Citadel blasted some villain in the back then shot off an AoE that certainly hurt (his first target died before our powers were even turned on) but it was Castle's boom that cleared the field.

Some villain brought a Warburg toxic nuke on the villain side for the second round. I didn't notice one in the first round but I could have missed it easily enough.

The only official dev acknowledgement of demos I can recall is when Pohsyb (or was it Poz?) posted how to make them way back in CoH beta. It's not an official feature, it's just there so NCSoft can make promotional demos (hence the name).

That said, things do get fixed in demos from time to time. There's no mention of the fixes in the patch notes but they happen none the less.

!!! Unicode??? That's really odd, you normally have to tell VB if you want it to work with Unicode instead of ASCII.

Errrrmmm.... how about planning what you're going to say instead of just making it up as you go along?

I suspect the weapon in the base is just there to look interesting. I've got a couple in my base.

If they get ragdolls working well in Demos, you'll have to change the Nemesis to 5th Column. Then have a car say "I hate Paragon Nazis" and plow through.

Use demo editors in moderation. FRAPS/WeGame are definitely better for some things - like battles with lots of knockback.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's a model thing. Like the map, the model actually knows what time of day it is and displays differently.

I can't think of a way to convince the model it's dark while the map thinks it isn't yet. If you've got a fancy movie editor, though, you might be able to overlay the lights. (I don't have a fancy movie editor so I have no idea how to do that.)

On the Vista side....

1. Right click your desktop and select "Personalize."

2. Select Screen Saver

3. In the drop down list under "Screen Saver" select Photos.

4. Click the "Settings..." button. Now you've got a boatload of options. The easiest one would be to use the Browse button and pick out a directory. You can also pick a "theme" which has some neat effects to display your slideshow. Or, if you want to get really fancy, you can actually make a photo gallery. You can then give it some "do's" and "don'ts" by tag name.

Mine is actually getting an error trying to display my CoH photo directory but it doesn't say what the error is, just that there is one. Could be too many files or it could be a file type it doesn't like. (Pheonix Circle's guide to I10.PDF is in there.)

Can you load the edited demo into the Demo Editor? I think it might actually be more picky than the game about what's in a demo.

You should see Castle's - not only does he have a boatload of powers, he seems to have IO sets in most of them.

Oh I know why my powers aren't showing in my demos! I was playing my Warshade and switched the 'hide powers that are close in' feature back on so I could do it first person. Naturally, I forgot to turn it off afterward.

Definitely a fine job!

Oh! Must have taken that live and not from a demo. (My earth armors don't seem to show up in demos.)

And yes, some dastardly villain gave me a tummy ache. It hurt sooooo bad! (Which is odd, given that there's only a dried-out husk of a body inside that armor. Plus some skittles that one of our meaner SG members poured inside.)

No problem, I have a *TON* of pictures. I was lucky enough to get into the beta test (dress rehersal?) for the event which ran through twice. In the first demo I kept text on so you could see people's names. More or less. Some are a hard to read because they are far away. Also, short characters' names don't appear over their heads or over my head.

And guess who shows up! Better yet, he brought a date!

The signatures start fighting it out but the players still are without all their powers.... except one! So I click on my mighty Holiday Spirit power. It did... well, dink, but one does what one can. Our powers turned on as soon as I started the animation, naturally, and the fight began in earnest!

Castle quickly cleared the field of any squishy (or napping) villains and was then dropped into the drink for it. Hmmm, Lighthouse, your fellow moderator is getting attacked, want to do something about that? Guess not.

Here's somebody that showed up late for the party!

Oh here's a fun one. Castle seems to be giving a widow minion a back massage of some kind while Back Alley Brawler shows off his cool "pwned by Ghost Widow" animation sequence.

The villains were rather outnumbered and it soon became a game of catch the spider. Sister Psyche was right in on it.

Now those of you who have watched Princess Bride know that weddings aren't really official until the bride and groom say "I do." You might note that they did not say this. And, just like the storybooks, Sister Psyche came running back to my arms! (Or not.)

In the second dress rehersal, some of us wisened up to the delay between when the signatures start blasting us and when we can start defending ourselves, so we took more strategic seating. Good thing, too, because the delay lasted even longer this time and there were more signature villains.

Some villain brought a nuke to the party. That's actually the first time I ever saw this power. Ouch. It sure has some massive knockback!

Castle, I think you're in trouble, Malthaeus has a much bigger sword than you and... oh!! What do you know, the event ended and we all got kicked out.
