Do all six need to be destroyed before an IOP can be seized, then?
Also - what if / can you have more than six? -
Ok - so forgive me if there is a guide somewhere that explains this, but I like things delivered in idiot-format, so that I can actually understand it...
To make a base I.O.P. and RAID ready you need :
A raid telepad
An SG computer
A Vault
An item-of-power-holdy-thingy
And....HOW MANY anchors?
Then of course, guns, weapons, etc etc...but it's the anchors that confuse me... -
I think I might be able to make it, although later would be better for me...
-
True enough - the one person with TP didn't make it to the gateway, so the whole team winds up on a resuce mission to recover the lost hero! However, we must've whizzed through the inner cave in what...less than seven minutes? The odd battle, and then dropping off people by obelisks one at a time, then stealthing / flying past the last few mobs. Great work, all.

Running the CoT trial with a prompt 7pm start, this Thursday evening. It's only an hour and a half (timed), and we're gathering from half past six. There won't be a set list, as it's going to be first come first served - so email Winter Flare in game if you're interested, and I'll do my best to find you between 6.30pm and 7pm
Be there! Levels 12-15 is the range - but anyone is free to exemp down. -
Well, I'm just glad we've now got that much power! Upgraded control centre, here we come!!!

But...but...but....
One of our bars disappeared ( As has my sanity! -
Hey peeps,
I was taking a look at the last five badges that our SG has to earn, one of them being the Benedict Dr-3 Turret Plans. This is earned by earning 10,000,000 Prestige. However, I'm not sure if this description is clear...
You see, we currently have two bars on our SG badge list, that are slowly moving. The first is unmarked, but we know it's for the 750 PVP kills for the Turbine Generator, as it only started moving when I began to work on my own PVP badges. The other bar is for the second healing badge, which is clearly labelled. Now, Scorpion's Surprise (for killing Recluse five times) has no bar, and the third healing badge bar won't appear until we have received the second one...
Now...badge #5 is the mystery. On Saturday afternoon, we had another, unmarked, bar. It was roughly one third full. I assumed this was for earning prestige - i.e to receive the third Benedict Turret. However - and no, I wasn't drunk (I think) - the bar has now disappeared - but we've not received a badge.
Yes, I'm probably being stupid, and not understanding something that I'm sure EVERYONE else already knew - but I needed to ask... We upgraded our base on Sunday evening with quite a few large enhancements. We've been stockpiling prestige in order to expand the plot, generator room, and generator in one big go (to save on paying rent until it was absolutely necessary). We have spent a while saving up the 3.5 million prestige to afford it, and now we have. The SG badge bar has now vanished.
So question - is the Benedict Turret awarded for achieving a TOTAL accumulated 10million prestige? Because I don't think it's for 'earning 10 million prestige overall' - I'm now convinced that it is for 'reaching a stored total of 10million prestige'. -
*Waves*
Well, actually, I'd like the Bomb-placing badge...
But merits are tasty too. Having a big Vanguard mech pet spare always makes me feel safe when I'm jogging through Atlas Park's car park... -
That was SUCH a short battle for such a long slog! Still, we kicked booty ) Great work! Our SG got the SG badge, and we even earned enough prestige to buy a HUGE base upgrade (it's been a loonnnnggg month!)
-
We're ging to need an empath/def and a tanker would be nice, too.
I've got you two down, and hope to see you around five o'clock -
Running the fourth / final Shadow Shard Task Force from 5pm on Sunday 16th September. There are currently four spaces left (possibly five - awaiting confirmation from another SG member).
Great XP, and a Super Group badge rides on this, too.
We'll be on from 4pm to collect Shivans, should you get there early. Post here if you're interested! -
I'll do my best to be there on Sunday - Friday might not be doable, but I'll let my SG know, as they're all eager to help out with raids.

.......
I'm so tempted to just try and keep up that charade, obviously fake as it was.
No, I'm not ;o) I had to Google him to find out who he was, however! LOL!
And yeah - I think fashion coordinators could make quite a business in the city. It would be the 'costume competitions' of old ;o) -
It's cool, Claws, you didn't hit a nerve - you simply gave me a chance to vent a bit, which was nice.
As for the whole homosexual player / character confusion - I think you'll find that the best SGs have a mix of both - in the same way teams work well with a good balance, so do groups of players!
Besides - who else are you going to come to about costume coordination? *Decides to set up a desk in ICON* -
No offence, Claws, because the gaming community as a whole I suppose is predominantly male... but assuming that they're all straight is... well, massively inaccurate.
Although I think it's a little redundant having an LGBT SG (just my opinion, so don't all scream at me), if it's something that people want to do, then go for it. To be perfectly honest, you would never see a purely [censored] superteam in any comic series, since all comics portray the equality of both hetrosexual and homosexual characters. For example - X-Men had Colussus and Beast, who were, in one dimension or another, [censored]. However, the more famous [censored] characters are Northstar, from Alpha Flight, and also Phyla Vell, the latest Captain Marvel, and now the newest Quasar, a heroine, and lesbian, in the new Annihilation: Conquest series. Also, don't overlook both Hulkling and Wiccan from the Young Avengers, who portrayed [censored] teens / superheroes. And one of the Runaways too.
My point? That just like real life, [censored] people work alongside straight people without needing a ghetto for themselves. Granted, LGBT support groups are useful in reality, but in game, why would such a group be necessary?
As a happily out, and certainly proud [censored] man, that has been playing CoH for almost two years of game time (registered first in Feb '05), I must say that I've never had any problems with people in game, and I've certainly found a large percentage of players are in fact [censored].
When I was just a low level, I met one of my closest in-game friends in the Hollows. From the moment we teamed up, we bonded, and have always been a part of the same SG (although he now has quite a few toons, to my one blaster!). He helped me form my original SG, with my then long-term boyfriend, who I lived with at the time, who had also hopped on the CoH bandwagon. The SG certainly wasn't '[censored]' - it was just that the three of us were. The next two recruits, friends of ours in game, joined up - one straight, one [censored]. Teamed missions were fun, and the straight player had no problem with being 'outnumbered' - a fact I am still proud of him for, and happy that he has brought a new toon back to the new rendition of our SG.
Since I graduated from Uni back in July, and re-made SG (now 'The New Guardians') when I found that I had time again, I found that once again, [censored] players were present. Myself, two of my ex's from my Uni (who get along great), one of my closest friends from home, and a fantastic player that I met whilst patrolling, and worked out was [censored] simply based on the level of coordination of his outfit! Add that to those that have returned to the SG over the last few months - and I'd say you had about a 50/50 split of [censored] and straight players, all getting long, all playing without gripe or grudge, and generally accepting each other.
So - a need for an LGBT SG? I don't believe so - but good luck if you do, and yeah, I'll be there to support you.
However - a predominantly straight, male game? Heck no.

Oh, and for the record... censoring 'g a y', but not lesbian or homosexual... now THAT'S offensive.
