Definately, thanks. It's just my personal site so no adware or anything like that.

WOOOOW, that's good to know. Thanks, I've never seen that before. I'll have to search and see where exactly I'm linking to NewGrounds, cause off the top of my head I don't know where I'd be doing that.
Were you able to 'work around it' or will it totally not let you go there?
Thanks,
8 -
Ok, so, I'll give it a green light and get something up on my site tonight or tomorrow with any information I can come up with.
http://www.toddworld.com/heroes
There's nothing about art there now...that's what I'm working on at the moment. I'll post once I figure something out
Thanks for the interest and support,

Just browsed through the main Deviant art site info. I'd noticed a LARGE percent of people from the site using it, but wasn't quite sure if it was just image hosting or what other purpose it served.
I'll set up an account there this evening. Thanks for the info.
Oh, and I definately plan on taking 'baby steps' into this. Just to see how things go. I'd hate to have someone wait a long time for their art.
Thanks,

Good point.
I do like the snowflakes in the area...goes with the costume, but I'll give a try at giving all of them the blur and see how that goes.
Thanks,

Ok. Well, I have to admit, I'm having a good time playing around with drawing art of my toons, and my brothers. However, after looking through the forums for the past week or so I've started to toss around the idea of 'going pro', if you want to call it that.
If anyone has any advice in that area I'd greatly appreciate it (via post or email).
Also, if anyone would seriously be interested in my version of their toon I'd like to know that as well.
Oooooor, it's possible the pain meds they gave me for my wisdom teeth have affected my judgement and I'm just need to stay in my "happy place".
Fire away,

p.s. Oh, and off-topic, sort of, I've added some color to Windy. The link is in the Windy - TIP thread. -
Thanks, yeah the background and her aren't quite there yet. I'd like for the snow appear to be blasting past her from behind but at the same time, doing that and keeping her from getting lost in the background is proving to be...a challenge.
Thanks,
8 -
Adding some color to her now, and some effects.
Windy With Color - WIP
(like my signature thingy in the corner?
She's coming along, I rounded out her left...uh...side thanks to all the feedback. And decided to go ahead with the "no wonderbra" approach for Windy. I hope there aren't too many objections. There'll be plenty of wonderbra's later I'm sure.
Still working on getting her to 'pop' more off the background and working on the power effect in her right hand. I thought I had this really cool idea...then did it...and it blew....so....back to the drawing board.

p.s. oh, and yes that is her skin color. -
*Raises Hand*
I use it pretty often, just depends on what I'm doing. Typically I'll go from a base model in Maya, to detailing in Brush with possible texturing, it just depends on what it's for. In the past couple of months I've picked up Body Paint 3d which has it's advantages, so that may come into play as well. Typically more if I'm doing lowpoly game models. The textures are usually finished up in Photoshop.
Here's a very early model of a head I'm working on for my villain Sinder.
VERY early: Early Sinder Head
...ah, and the weird place on his mouth is where his cigar will go.
But since he was looking for cheap and simple, Zbrush is kinda outta both those requirements.

Thanks, and rest assured, after seeing your immense gallery, Feral Kat has been bumped to the upper area of my "Hottest Characters to Draw" list. Should that day ever come...and it may be approaching.
Great gallery,

Ok, off topic. It's a misnomer that getting your wisdom teeth out sucks. In the contrary, getting them out is a breeze. Dealing with the DRUGS wearing off for the rest of the day sucks.
I want my brain back.

Daaaaaaaaaaaang, dude that rocks! Nice lines...and pose...and....uh....lines

I think it's great that you're interested in 3d. It's definately a fun field to get into but like DarkJedi said be prepared to plow through a few road blocks.
I hear Daz is indeed probably the closest thing that comes to what you're looking for. It's a Poser rival and more importantly as stated above, it's free. But again, like Dark was saying it's probably not going to do the full job.
I guess it just depends on what your expectations. If you're justing looking to 'play around' with 3d to get an approximation of your character in cool Poses then Daz should probably do you ok, if you've got a good imagination. However if you're shooting for stuff like Dark's...I can, without a doubt say there is no "free, simple to use program" that's gonna do that for you...short of designing your CoX characters after some of the default characters found in the 3d app.
By the way Dark, OUTSTANDING image I'm not gonna ask how many hours went into that.
Best of Luck,

Dont know how I missed this one. Awesome Job 8baller. Seems your skill on paper matches your skill ingame, good stuff!

Thanks man. It was fun running around with you guys last night, if even for a short bit.
And, there's no paper involved (I don't think they make an eraser big enough), I work all digital tablet-style. It just seems easier these days.
Typically I'll do the rough sketching process in Alias Sketch only because I really like the 'feel' of it. Inking is a toss up right now between Sketch and Photoshop, but all the coloring is done in Photoshop.
Thanks again,

Just to be clear...cause I'm having trouble seeing it...when you say 'left' do you mean HER left or left as if you're looking at the picture?
It's something like that, that I really don't want to mess up .
Thanks,
8 -
Ok, well here's what I've got so far for Windy. She's a storm controller. What I hope to achieve here is a gale force snow storm coming in your face, which doesn't really come through yet in the pencils...but that's the final plan anyhow.
I figure I'll post various steps of the process here as things develop. This is actually more like a "Step 2" since the first pencils are really extremely loose.
Fingers are crossed on this one, I think it's a pretty solid start...now if I can just finish it without messing anything up along the way.

Great site! Nicely designed and easy to navigate (which is becoming a rare thing these days). Outstanding work as well.

Thanks Rocketboy. I checked out your art gallery and many pieces in there are jaw dropping.
Very Nice,

Ahhhh, I crashed putting my son to bed last night. That's a way to burn a few hours. I open my eyes and it's around 4am. So I'll try again tonight.
Checked out TA's page, I think I'm pretty safe, I don't draw well enough to get on his radar from the few examples I saw on his page.
Later all,

Home from work now. Thanks for the warm welcome, I'll see if I can't post up a sketch I'm working on now later this evening.
I checked out the envisionaries (hope I spelled that correctly) and looks like a neat idea. I haven't had a chance to read through all 20 pages of the forum yet. What server is it on?
And I guess I should make myself a forum avatar I seem to be the only one posting without one.
...and who is this TA character?
And I will succumb to my forum identity and from now on be known as 8baller...or 8 for short .
Thanks again all,

The fonts. Oh my goodness, did you draw the lettering too or find it somewhere?
[/ QUOTE ]
Nope, all the credit there goes to Blambot. The fonts/logotypes were based off of Blambot fonts and then modified a tiny bit (the "M" in Marshall and the sword placement in "Night Shade").
Blambot.com has a collection of really incredible fonts, especially for comics.
Thanks,

Dang you guys reply quickly, especially at this time of the night
And many thanks for the encouraging words.
I used to draw in my younger days, then kinda fell out of it as I picked up 3d and other digital media. So after a very extended break I've been futzing around with different techniques. It's been fun and relaxing.
Thanks again,
Todd -
Hi all. I've been working on a series of heroes and villains and here's a first look. The first one, Marshall Glen is actually my brother's toon. And the second is a stalker of mine called Nightshade.
Enjoy. Feed back is welcome.

Thanks,
Todd
p.s. I'm working on a few more in the series, so hopefully more to come.
